Origin:
Like almost all of his fellow Joes, Daniel is naught but a normal human, lacking mutant powers, sorcerous training, or psionic schooling, among other things. What he does have, however, is a single-minded desire to get in the water and do some damage - a trait that is more than helpful on the job...
Known Powers:
(none)
Equipment:
Diving Gear: Daniel carries various gear that allows him to function underwater almost normally. His wet suit, combined with his air tank, underwater mask, and flippers, allows him to act underwater for about four hours, and move at one water speed category higher than he otherwise should be capable of.
Harpoon Gun: although he's highly skilled in the use of various firearms, Daniel prefers to use a harpoon gun, as does fellow S.E.A.L. Torpedo. To wit, each fire a harpoon capable of inflicting Good (10) Shooting damage per deadly barb, and Daniel's accuracy with this weapon is absolutely spot on.
the Joe-Com *: this is a new device given to all Joes since the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with a Typical (6) - 250 mile - range, is equipped with a G.P.S. system, a heart monitor, and can store up to a terabyte of raw data - not bad, eh?
Of course, this device also stores a variety of nutrients it can use to supplement activity, which are absorbed directly into one's pores (think of this as Feeble (2) life support, where food is concerned). So, not only is the thing a nice, high tech video phone, but it can also save one's life in a pinch!
Knife: since guns aren't always the right weapons to use on stealth missions, all Joe S.E.A.L.s typically carry at least one blade on them during missions - if not all the time. Daniel can use this blade to cut through items of up to Incredible (40) rank, as well as using it to inflict Edged Attack in melee.
Underwater Explosives: carried in various pouches and pockets, these devices are especially crafted to detonate underwater - to spectacular effect. In essence, they detonate to inflict Incredible (40) Edged Attack damage to everything within the area they explode in - deadly to ships and such!
* The Joe-Com is something that the Joes started using in their new (as of 2001) comic, but wasn't featured on the 2001 Wet Down action figure.
Quirks:
Action Addict: Daniel seems to love 'getting his feet wet', clamoring almost constantly to be given yet another mission to take down Cobra - or any other vile terrorists the Joes come up against. When not 'on the job', Daniel is bored, fidgety, and often wanders off to do something more 'exciting'.
Talents:
Demolitions: chosen to lead certain Joe amphibious assault operations due to his ability to make naval targets 'go away', Daniel got in this position because he's such a good saboteur. With enough time and equipment, Daniel can destroy just about anything, though he specializes in waterborne targets.
Guns: an essential part of Daniel's military education involved learning how to effectively utilize a gun. Whether it be a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Daniel can fire it as though his Agy score was +1 CS higher than is described above.
Martial Arts types A and B: S.E.A.L.s are the best the Navy has to throw at a body, so you can bet they get plenty of combat training - including extensive hand to hand combat education. Daniel receives a +1 CS on unarmed melee attacks, and can slam or stun foes regardless of their comparative Str or End scores.
Military: when he hooked up with the Navy, Daniel was given the standard treatment during his basic training, as well as during his S.E.A.L. education. As such, he knows military protocols and the laws of the sea like the back of his hands, and has gained innumerable Military contacts.
Skill / Harpoon Guns: since his vocation tends to limit his use of standard firearms, Daniel has acquired the skills necessary to utilize a harpoon gun - either on the surface or underwater. Daniel can fire harpoon guns as though his Agy score was +1 CS higher than is listed above.
Underwater Combat: an essential part of Daniel's S.E.A.L. training, this talent represents his ability to fight effectively under the waves. Whether he fights in melee or with some kind of ranged weapon, Daniel can attempt applicable combat FEAT rolls at a +1 CS.
Contacts:
A member of the G.I. Joe team - if a newer one - Daniel can easily request (and usually receive) aid from that team should he need it... after all, any time a man with his skills needs help, it's normally while he's on a mission. The Joes don't slack off in the teamwork department, you know...
Costume:
Daniel's field uniform consists of a primarily black wet suit, one that has a large gray block in the center, a patch of color that moves down from his shoulders to the insides of his legs, down to his gray boots. He complements this suit with a gray pair of gloves and a gray belt.
Personality:
Daniel is in love with adventure and excitement. He also has a deep-seated love for all things aquatic, which makes it easy to see how he wound up in the Navy. Of course, he's also a persistent patriot, a hater of all things 'evil', and quite the action addict - he can't sit still for more than a minute!
Real Name: Daniel R. Alexander, grade WO-5

Story:
Daniel Alexander grew up near the Naval grounds in Norfolk, Virginia, and sort of followed in the footsteps of Shipwreck, when you get down to it. You see, he was always checking things out there, even sneaking onto the base just to get a better look at the ships that came and went!
His sense of adventure didn't get him in trouble, though; he never got caught in his innocent trespasses. He so loved all things Navy that, immediately after his high school graduation, Daniel signed up with that military organization before his recruiter could even finish telling him how good his deal was.
Naturally, Daniel excelled during his basic training, and did so well that he qualified to enter the BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolitions / S.E.A.L. program). He then did so well at that that he became the youngest S.E.A.L. in the Navy - a situation that naturally attracted the Joe team's recruiters.
The Joes are always out looking for the best of the best, after all, and it looked like Daniel could become that - with some experience under his belt. To this end, the Joes put him in charge of several amphibious assault operations, and thanks to his training and zeal for action, he succeeded in his endeavors.
Quite well. So much so, in fact, that he's been welcomed into the ranks of the Joe team in spirit as well as in fact, and he often works with Shipwreck, Wet Suit, and his apparent idol, Torpedo (who likely was responsible for some of his training) when the Joe team has some Naval nastiness it must perpetrate.
