the Night Attack Chopper Yet another in a long line of excellent combat helicopters, the G.I. Joe Night Attack Chopper is a truly magnificent feat of engineering. With a total range of 475 miles when fully loaded, this almost organic-looking, heavily armored combat troop transport has a m.s. of 13, and has the following capabilities: Body Armor (s): the Night Attack Chopper is built to last, having the latest in composite-armor plating. This serves to provide the vehicle +4 protection from attack, making it all but immune from small-arms fire, though the blades only have this protection at +2. Communications Suite (i): the Night Attack Chopper is equipped with an advanced radio transceiver system, allowing the pilot to send battle-field data to a central command, and then receive new orders in turn. This functions at intensity 6, and has a maximum range of about 500 miles. Flight / Levitation (a): the principal purpose of the N.A.C., this power represents the vehicle's impressive aerial agility. The Night Attack Chopper can either hover in place (great for quick insertions or extractions), or fly at a top speed of 400 miles per hour, giving it this power at intensity 8. Heavy Machine Guns (a): the N.A.C. is armed with three (count 'em) heavy duty, rotary-barrel machine guns, one chin-mounted and one on each side. These guns can be fired to inflict +6 physical damage in a short burst, raised to +7 in a sustained rain of fire. Light Machine Guns (a): supplementing its heavy hitters, these two guns are useful when dealing with small groups of infantry or such. These two guns, mounted on the N.A.C.'s nose cone, can be fired to inflict +5 physical damage in a short burst, +6 in full-auto fire. Passengers: though it is mainly a combat vehicle, the Night Attack Chopper can also ferry around a large number of people. It has room in the cockpit for two people besides the pilot, and has space for at least four folks in the rear. Of course, people can also ride on the side rails...! Radar System (w): the Night Attack Chopper is armed with a sophisticated radar system, which emits electromagnetic waves into the environment, and can image items in the air (or on the ground) by their reflections. This system can identify objects near the N.A.C. with intensity 10 skill. Searchlight (i): mounted on the nose cone of the Night Attack Chopper, just over the twin light machine guns, this powerful light can be used to spotlight a ground-based target or just to light the N.A.C.'s way. It produces illumination of intensity 10, but is usually not used on 'stealth' missions. Sonic Control / Lower Sound Only (i): the Night Attack Chopper is just that, mainly used for night-time missions. To assist its stealthy endeavors, the noise output of the N.A.C. has been seriously dampened, making it almost impossible to hear... until it's on you. The N.A.C. has this power at intensity 1. Wildfire Missiles (i): there is a five-round, rotary-barrel launcher on each wing of the Night Attack Chopper, each of which is fully loaded with ATA Wildfire missiles. These can be fired individually to inflict intensity 10 fragmentary (physical) damage, or five at once for +2 damage. Night Attack Chopper, Mk 2 Putting the N.A.C. through its paces for about a year, the Joes found that the thing was suitable for all kinds of missions, when you get down to it. As such, they modified a few slightly, giving them a 'dusty' camouflage paint job, special engine intake filters, and transformed them into desert fighters! Other than all this, though, they're essentially the same aircraft...!
