Equipment:

Assault Rifle:
his primary martial implement, this weapon can be used by David to inflict serious damage. It can be fired to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, his Agility +5 damage in a short burst, and his Agility +6 damage in a deadly, full-auto spread.

Grenades: David usually has plenty of these handy on missions, usually kept in a special grenade bag. Working with intensity 10 effectiveness, these explosives (which affect everybody striking (near missile) distance of their detonation point) are of either an incendiary (energy) or fragmentary (physical) type.

the Joe-Com *: this is a new device given to all Joes since the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with an intensity 6 - 250 mile - range, is equipped with a G.P.S. system, a heart monitor, and can store up to a terabyte of raw data - not bad, eh?

Of course, this device also stores a variety of nutrients it can use to supplement activity, which are absorbed directly into one's pores (think of this as intensity 1 life support, where food is concerned). So, not only is the thing a nice, high tech video phone, but it can also save one's life in a pinch!

Knife: David always carries a blade with him on missions, for you never know when something (or someone) requires a good cutting. Made from strength 12 metals, this blade can be used to slice through items of up to a like m.s., and allows David to inflict +2 damage in melee.

Semi-Automatic Pistol: a back-up for his assault rifle, this sidearm also comes in handy when using his 'big gun' is somewhat impractical. David can fire this weapon to inflict +4 damage with a single shot, or +5 damage in a semi-automatic hail of lead.

* The Joe-Com is something that the Joes started using in their new (as of 2001) comic, but wasn't featured on the 2002 Big Ben action figures.

Hindrances:

(none)

Skills:

Boxing:
honed to a fine degree both with the S.A.S. and the G.I. Joe team, this skill represents David's ability to defend himself should he be rendered unarmed. In weaponless melee, David may divide his pre-cardplay action score between two attacks, the last of which occurs as a contingent action.

Espionage: David has something of a background in espionage work, having been active in various subversive operations and enemy infiltrations during his time with the S.A.S. Regarding information gathering techniques, David should make attempts to acquire such at a reduced difficulty level.

Marksmanship: one of David's essential military talents, this skill describes his ability to utilize most any firearms in battle. Whether he's wielding a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even esoteric weapons like shotguns, David may do so at a reduced difficulty level.

Military / United Kingdom: unlike the vast, vast majority of the G.I. Joe team members he works with, David was not trained by the U.S. military machine; in fact, he received his martial education from his homeland, the United Kingdom. However, he's a quick study, and can function Joe-style just fine.

Survival: a skill he apparently picked up while the G.I. Joe team was defunct, this talent greatly enhances David's versatility and ability to act most anywhere. Whether he finds himself in a jungle, desert, or tundra climate, David can find enough food, water, and shelter to get by.

Calling:

Soldier:
David is all about personal excellence, and strives for it in most everything he does; after all, if one doesn't try his best in an endeavor, why bother? As a soldier, this has driven him on to ever greater career heights, and has helped him to become the best that he can be.

Costume:

David's fourth field outfit is superficially the same as his others. It consists of a pair of green and brown 'camo' trousers (with a black G.I. Joe logo on the left leg), a brown T-shirt under a light brown, collared jacket with fuzzy cuffs, green webbing, a brown leather belt, black leather boots, and a brown and green cap.

For his fifth G.I. Joe field uniform, he chose yet another variant on his first. It includes gray trousers (with a black G.I. Joe logo on the left leg), a green T-shirt under a light blue, collared jacket with fuzzy cuffs, green webbing, a brown leather belt, black and gray leather boots, and a green cap.

Personality:

David is a tough fellow - real tough; the man is a cut above most others in his field, and he knows it. Of course, he's all business when on the job, and gives a mission his all - this, of course, because the man gets a rise out of doing everything right - it's why he's kept himself in such good shape all these years...

Real Name: David J. Bennett, grade Staff Sergeant
Occupation: subversive operations
Legal Status: citizen of the United Kingdom with no known criminal record
Marital Status: single
Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: G.I. Joe, the S.A.S. (Special Air Service)

Height: 5' 9"
Hair: light brown
Eyes: brown
Weight: 160 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: none

Story:

Competence is something that David strives for, and has been his underlying motivation for most of his adult life. For instance, the S.A.S. entrance exam includes a thirty mile march over the worst terrain in Britain, carrying fifty pounds of gear; while he had twenty hours to finish this, David did it in but twelve.

David received his initial training Bradbury Lines Barracks in Hereford, and was on cadre with the N.A.T.O. Long Range Recon Patrol School in West Germany. Though most of his activities in the Special Air Service are classified, it is assumed that David took part in the Falklands campaign.

Not to mention various other, covert operations. His expertise in such areas made him one of the best S.A.S. ops around, which got him a position, oddly, on the G.I. Joe team. While not an American citizen, he was assigned to the group 'on loan' in a sort of exchange program between the U.S. and the U.K.

Which Joe was assigned to trade places with him has yet to be identified, however.

Regardless, David began to serve with the Joes shortly after the debacle in Trucial Abysmia, which marked a rather large increase in Cobra's aggressive tendencies in the world. In fact, his first mission saw him working with the Joes in Scotland, protecting Destro from Cobra Commander's wrath.

David saw plenty of further action with the Joes while he was with them, but the team was eventually disbanded in '94, which meant that he had to return to his regular duties with the S.A.S. Over time, though, the threat Cobra posed to the world increased to the point that the G.I. Joe team had to be reinstated.

A short time after this occurred, David was once again 'loaned' to the G.I. Joe team, and this time on the job, he acted as one of several Arctic specialists that the team employed; after all, he's had several years to pick up new skills. It is assumed that David's been with the G.I. Joe team since this time...
