Origin:

Just like most of his allies on the elite G.I. Joe team, Michelino is a highly skilled human, one who lacks ascendant powers of any variety. He's got a knack with imitations and disguises, but he doesn't have any ability that could really be considered super-human in scope.

Known Powers:

(none)

Equipment:

Commando Knife:
when using guns would simply be too revealing in a given situation, Michelino will normally dispatch his opponents with a handy serrated blade. Made from Incredible (40) m.s. materials, Michelino can cut through items of like m.s., or inflict Edged Attack damage, with this knife.

Disguise Kit: Michelino's truly indispensable equipment, the man keeps this in a large black duffel bag. Using this kit, Michelino can concoct life-like masks and uniforms of various types with ease, and he usually has a few of both ready-made in the event of an emergency...

For example, one of the numerous disguises that Michelino has made use of is one that allows him to pose as one of Cobra's notorious Crimson Guardsmen (v2). The uniform itself offers him no special abilities, per se, but the status it provides allows him to gather all kinds of intel.

the Joe-Com *: this is a new device given to all Joes since the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with a Typical (6) - 250 mile - range, is equipped with a G.P.S. system, a heart monitor, and can store up to a terabyte of raw data - not bad, eh?

Of course, this device also stores a variety of nutrients it can use to supplement activity, which are absorbed directly into one's pores (think of this as Feeble (2) life support, where food is concerned). So, not only is the thing a nice, high tech video phone, but it can also save one's life in a pinch!

Machine Gun (v1): when subtlety is no longer an option, Michelino can whip this beast out and do some damage! When firing this gun, Michelino can inflict Good (10) Shooting damage in a short, controlled burst, or Excellent (20) Shooting damage in a sustained hail of lead.

Semi-Automatic Pistol: his primary piece, this weapon is deadly in Michelino's hands, and a bit more subtle than taking a machine gun to somebody. He can fire this hand cannon to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage in a single shot, or Good (10) Shooting damage in a semi-auto burst.

Shotgun (v2): instead of his compact machine gun, Michelino will sometimes make use of an assault shotgun. He can fire this pump-action death machine to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage to any target within one area; after that the gun's 'shot' isn't effective.

* The Joe-Com is something that the Joes started using in their new (as of 2001) comic, but wasn't featured on the 2003 Agent Faces action figure.

Quirks:

Natural Talent / Detective and Espionage:
while some people work all their lives to be master spies, Michelino was simply born with the knack - he's always been good at mimicry and disguise. He should receive a +1 CS to any Detective / Espionage FEAT rolls required of him.

Talents:

Detective / Espionage:
while the man has natural talent, Michelino has received extensive training from the Army in regards to intelligence work. He should gain a +1 CS to FEATs directly related to the collection of information, both subtly and overtly, as well as attempts to disguise himself as someone else.

Guns: one of those skills he picked up in basic training, this talent is a must for all military men and women. As such, Michelino can use any standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even oddball firearms like shotguns, as though his Agility score was +1 CS in rank.

Martial Arts types A and B: extensively trained in unarmed combat, since sometimes stealth and subtlety is more important than simply blasting someone to bits in spy work, Michelino gains a +1 CS in unarmed melee, and may Slam or Stun a foe regardless of his comparative Strength or Endurance.

Military / United States: the source of all Michelino's basic skills, this 'background' talent has uses all its own. It provides him a reflexive understanding of military protocols and procedures, and grants him the ability to effectively lead fighting men and women into battle should it become necessary for him to.

Skill / Knives: when guns are too much and fists aren't enough, sometimes you just have to cut somebody up. Michelino has been trained and certified in the use of the commando knife, though he's probably just as competent with any short blade, and can use them at his Fighting +1 CS.

Contacts:

Michelino is one of the Joes, which is a very tight-knit group despite its almost unwieldy size. The man can usually rely upon his fellows for help should he reveal himself to them. Furthermore, Michelino has countless additional contacts in espionage and government circles.

Costume:

Michelino's primary field uniform is a simple, if stylish one. It consists of black trousers, brown leather hip holsters, black leather boots, black leather gloves, a black leather jacket over a white T-shirt, and of course a green belt / bandoiler combo that's filled to the brim with equipment pouches.

One is unlikely to encounter Michelino so dressed in the field, though, for the man often makes use of disguises to fit in to some terrorist outfit or another. For instance, he has made considerable use of a Cobra Crimson Guardsman's uniform in the past, as the 'siegies' have all kinds of clearance in Cobra.

Makes it real easy for him to find out what the group is up to...

Personality:

Michelino seems to be a dedicated and trustworthy guy, but then most spies do. He's also wont to using his special skills to amuse himself by imitating his teammates most brutally, or at the very least to get himself extra time off by signing his leave papers with Duke's handwriting...

Real Name: Michelino J. Paolino, grade E-4
Occupation: G.I. Joe deep cover operative
Legal Status: citizen of the United States with no known criminal record
Marital Status: single
Alias(es), if any: various single-use, throwaway identities
Group Affiliation: G.I. Joe

Height: 6'
Hair: black
Eyes: brown
Weight: 180 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Michelino usually wears a goatee.

Story:

Michelino's tale is almost like an urban legend, really. The story goes that he's always had an uncanny knack for imitation, that he can watch a person for just a few minutes and then become them, artfully mimicking body language, speech inflections, and usually his subject's exact voice itself.

One day, while in basic training, Michelino was amusing his fellow recruits by performing a brutally accurate imitation of his First Sergeant, when that same fellow happened to catch him in the act. Michelino expected to get a brow-beating for this at the very least, but something else happened.

Michelino's top kick didn't assign him to punishment duty, but rather put him before a special evaluation board, sensing a unique potential in the man. Shortly thereafter, this board shipped him off to a top secret intelligence school, and by the time he was done, Michelino was a changed man.

Armed with additional skills of subterfuge with makeup, mask making, and more, Michelino has become a true master of disguise. These new skills, along with his natural talent, make him capable of posing as just about anybody he chooses to - which comes in real handy against the forces of evil.

Recruited onto the G.I. Joe team soon enough, Michelino quickly grew to become their master spy, a veritable counterpart to Cobra's own Zartan - the only advantage that foe has over Michelino, after all, is his holographic technology and freaky mutant powers... unfair advantages, at that.

This hasn't stopped the two from clashing from time to time, however. Their jobs have, though - several times the two have both been 'on the job' posing as members of the enemy team when they found each other out, but had to 'play along' and let the other get away with it for fear of exposing themselves.

Not that this slows Michelino down any. This is because, despite being opposed by Zartan, most of Cobra's flunkies can never see through his disguises, especially since most of those fellows wear masks and disguises of their own. The extra layer of subterfuge is just too much for them, apparently...
