Blowtorch Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 7d 5c 5c 6d Hand Size: 4 (25) Edge: 2 Known Powers: (none) Equipment: Colt M1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol (a): a handy back-up piece should his flamethrower be impractical in a given situation (or disabled), this weapon can be fired to inflict damage per a +4 weapon in a single shot, or damage per a +5 weapon in a short, semi-automatic burst of lead. Fire-Resistant Suit (s): Timothy always dons this suit whenever he thinks he may be using his flamethrower in combat, for he is intimately aware of the effects of fire and heat. Primarily, this bulky, multi-layered suit provides the man +8 protection from both fire and heat damage. However, the suit offers Timothy several additional benefits. For one thing, the suit has a full face mask and respirator / air filter, providing intensity 10 filtration of ambient air (versus smoke and other particulate matter), and the helmet offers Timothy +3 protection from head-based attack forms. Flame Pistol (i): a serious upgrade to his fiery capabilities, this weapon is a fine example of miniaturization technology. This pistol has the ability to inflict just as much damage as Timothy's old M-7, but can be held in just one hand - allowing him to use the other one for something else in battle. the Joe-Com * (i): this is a new device given to all Joes since the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with an intensity 6 - 250 mile - range, is equipped with a G.P.S. system, a heart monitor, and can store up to a terabyte of raw data - not bad, eh? Of course, this device also stores a variety of nutrients it can use to supplement activity, which are absorbed directly into one's pores (think of this as intensity 1 life support, where food is concerned). So, not only is the thing a nice, high tech video phone, but it can also save one's life in a pinch! the Raging Typhoon: Timothy's newest toy, the Raging Typhoon is a B.T.R. hovercraft, that he can reconfigure in the field - changing it into four separate, smaller vehicles - with just a little bit of applied manpower. The Raging Typhoon (and its alternate modes) are described in its own vehicular entry. * The Joe-Com is something that the Joes started using in their new (as of 2001) comic, but wasn't featured on the 2003 Blowtorch action figure. Hindrances: (none) Skills: Architecture: one of two talents Timothy is currently working to earn a degree in, this skill describes his mounting understanding of architecture, from the smallest shed to the largest of skyscrapers - the better to determine just how fire will tear them down, when you think about it... Boxing (s): while he does prefer to utilize fire (or even his Colt) in combat, Timothy has nonetheless been trained in the use of unarmed fighting techniques - just in case. He can divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed attacks, the last of which will occur as a contingent action. Chemistry: upon rejoining the G.I. Joe team, Timothy began work on a degree in chemical engineering, in order to better understand incendiary devices - both those wielded against him and those he himself uses in battle. He can make Intellect actions in this area at a reduced difficulty level. Flamethrowers (a): his claim to fame, Timothy is rather handy with a flamethrower - he's an expert with the M-7, but can use most others with competence as well. He should make any attacks with a flamethrower against any person, object, or area at a reduced difficulty level. Marksmanship (a): as a part of his basic training, Timothy was taught how to fire most basic military weapons. Whether he's wielding a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol - or even esoteric weapons like shotguns - he does so at a reduced difficulty level. Military / United States (w): serving as a handy origin for his many talents, this skill represents most of the ability granted by Timothy's basic training. This skill imparts unto him an almost instinctual understanding of military protocols and procedures, and allows him to lead fighting men into battle if necessary. Calling: Soldier: Timothy apparently joined up with the Army in order to get really good at one obscure area of combat expertise, and has indeed done so. He sticks with the Army (and the Joe team) because it allows him just about the only arena with which to use his skills, and thus prove himself to others. Costume: Timothy's third G.I. Joe uniform is similar to his first in hue, but second in design. This fire-resistant suit is primarily bright yellow in color, though it is adorned with red plates and padding on the knees, thighs, wrists, and chest. Timothy also wears yellow boots, and gloves, and belts, and a red and yellow helmet. Personality: Working with fire for a living has forever altered Timothy's mindset. Being intimately aware of just what fire can do to the human body, he's almost compulsive about avoiding it at all times, keeping an eye out for available fire exits, exposed flammable materials, and especially smokers. Timothy hates cigarette smoke with a fervent passion. Real Name: Timothy P. Hanrahan, grade E-6 Occupation: special weapons expert, armorer Legal Status: citizen of the United States with no known criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: G.I. Joe Height: 6' Hair: brown, later blonde Eyes: brown Weight: 180 lbs. Other Distinguishing Characteristics: none Story: Not too much is known about Timothy before his time with the G.I. Joe team, though it is known that he's had a special appreciation for fire since the beginning. Not because he's a pyromaniac or anything, but because he feels fire has been an implement of warfare since before even the bow and arrow. To this end, he decided to become the best he could be with fiery implements, and as such has mastered the use of the Army's M-7 flamethrower. This expertise got him his position on the G.I. Joe team (after passing the insanely difficult entry exams) during a significant wave of recruiting. He seemed to fit in well with his fellow 'new recruits', especially Ripcord and Spirit, despite his eccentricities, and spent plenty of time with these two Joes. He stayed with the team for quite a while, participating in various missions with the Joes, including the so-called Battle of Springfield. Timothy's expertise in fire-based weaponry and warfare served the team well for years, and he was good enough that the Joes didn't feel the need to supplement its fire-wielding forces for five years (though it finally did so with Charbroil and the Ice Cream Soldier). Of course, good things always come to an end. Late in 1994, the G.I. Joe team was deactivated, due to the perceived decrease in the threat that Cobra presented to the world. Seven years later, this proved to be a mistake, and the Joe team was reactivated as a result. Though he didn't sign up right away, Timothy eventually came back to the fold. In fact, Timothy played a pretty large role in the Joe team's redeployment, trying out a bunch of all new equipment for the group. This included a much more compact flamethrower, as well as a bizarre hovercraft he can reconfigure in the field into four separate, smaller vehicles. He remains a Joe to this day.
