Hi-Tech F A S E R I P Res Pop Gd 10 Gd 10 Ty 6 Gd 10 Rm 30 Ex 20 Ex 20 Ex 20 Sh 0 Health: 36 Karma: 70 Origin: As are the vast, vast majority of the G.I. Joe team's operatives, David is naught but a normal human, lacking ascendant powers of any stripe - no mutant abilities, psionic schooling, or magical doo-dads. However, he can be considered a high tech hero, what with his skills and expertise... Known Powers: (none) Equipment: Electronics Gear: while he's somewhat heavily armed, David's truly invaluable combat equipment is his repair gear. Secreted in countless pouches, packets and pockets on David's uniform is all the gear he needs to repair anything electronic in the field, no matter how harsh conditions may be. the Joe-Com: this is a new device given to all Joes since the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with a Typical (6) - 250 mile - range, is equipped with a G.P.S. system, a heart monitor, and can store up to a terabyte of raw data - not bad, eh? Of course, this device also stores a variety of nutrients it can use to supplement activity, which are absorbed directly into one's pores (think of this as Feeble (2) life support, where food is concerned). So, not only is the thing a nice, high tech video phone, but it can also save one's life in a pinch! Knife: in the event that he's got to cut something (or somebody) in a fight, David carries this useful utility blade, secreted on his person. Made from Incredible (40) m.s. metals, it can be used to cut through items of like m.s., and allows him to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee. Missile Launcher (v1): this oversized, stationary projectile launcher is what David uses to pelt Cobra forces from a distance - to soften them up before they can reach him or his teammates. This handy, rotary-barreled launcher can fire six missiles before reloading is necessary, missiles having these specs: C S B Damage Rm 30 In 40 Gd 10 Rm 30 Edged Attack Patriot Grizzly Tank, B.T.R. (v2): one device he picked up later in his first year as a G.I. Joe operative is a B.T.R. version of the Patriot Grizzly battle tank. This advanced vehicle can be reconfigured in the field to serve as a different tracked vehicle, and is described in its own entry. Semi-Automatic Pistol (v1): a backup for his launcher, in case he should need such, David carries one of these pieces on him at all times. He can fire this one-handed firearm to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage in a single shot, or Good (10) Shooting damage in a clip-expending burst of leaden doom. Quirks: (none) Talents: Computers: supplementing his mastery of electronics, David is also well-versed in the fine art of computer programming and operation. Whether he's putting together his own, custom P.C. or writing a special virus to attack Cobra computer networks, David's can do so at his Reason score +1 CS. Electronics 2: a true electronics whiz, David knows almost everything there is to know about electronics - not to mention a lot of things you're not cleared for just yet. His Reason in this area should be considered +2 CS, which comes in real handy when repairing damaged equipment in a combat zone! Guns: though he prefers the electronic battlefield, David can readily fire a gun when required; he's not above taking down Cobras in a more personal fashion. Whether he's firing a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, David may do so at his Agility score +1 CS. Martial Arts type B: in the event that he should find himself unarmed, David has been trained in the fine art of weaponless melee. He may add a +1 CS to any unarmed fighting maneuver he attempts, whether it be a punch, kick, knee smash, elbow drop, head butt, or anything else he can come up with. Military / United States: the source of his more physical education, this 'background' talent represents David's extensive military training. Thanks to this talent, he knows military protocols and procedures like the back of his own hand, and can lead fighting men and women into battle if necessary. Contacts: Though he's one of the newer members of the G.I. Joe team, David can naturally rely on his teammates for assistance in a pinch - and not just because he fixes all their high tech toys. David also has innumerable contacts in various high tech circles, from corporate engineers to computer hackers. Costume: David's G.I. Joe field uniform is... heavy. It consists of blue jeans, black leather boots with gray ankle guards, gray knee pads, red equipment pouches on his upper legs, a gray jacket with an oversized collar, gray leather gloves with the fingers cut out, a red belt, and red webbing to hold his considerable gear. His second G.I. Joe uniform is similar to his second, save for the coloring. It consists of tan jeans with tan equipment pouches, tan leather boots with green-gray ankle guards, tan knee pads, a tan jacket with an oversized collar, an olive drab leather belt, and olive drab webbing to hold his many repair devices. Personality: David is a very good-natured guy, and doesn't know how to say 'no' to his fellow Joes when they ask him to help with some broken piece of equipment or another. Highly motivated and driven, he works day and night to keep abreast of current military technology - both G.I. Joe's and Cobra's. Real Name: David P. Lewinski, Grade E-4 Occupation: G.I. Joe technician, combatant Legal Status: American citizen with no known criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: G. I. Joe Height: 5' 9" Hair: blonde Eyes: blue Weight: 160 lbs. Other Distinguishing Characteristics: none Story: While he's not one of the front-line heavy-hitters on the G.I. Joe team, such as Roadblock and his cousin, Heavy Duty, David is nonetheless a Joe you don't want to under-estimate. After all, he had to pass the same, impossibly rigorous entrance exams that everybody else on the team went through. He can definitely hold his own in a firefight, but he's of the best use to the Joe team working on their equipment, whether he's fixing a broken pair of third generation night vision goggles, rigging up some advanced new gizmo to fight evil, or even figuring out how Cobra's newest weapon works. David is so good at what he does because he spends his days and nights working hard to keep up with the latest technological advancements in all areas of expertise, from weapon construction to computer programming to microprocessor fabrication. That and the Joes keep him on his toes. A day hardly ever passes by where one of his teammates doesn't ask him to fix a stereo, personal computer, or some other electronic device that they managed to 'accidentally' break. David doesn't mind this, though; the Joes play rough, and this gives him great training for real emergency field repair work. In fact, David is so far ahead of the curve that he's almost what you could consider a 'mad scientist' - though thankfully, one that's on the side of good, for a change. This naturally puts him at odds with Doctor Mindbender, Cobra's resident scientific nutjob, who is often behind Cobra's deadliest nuisances. Such as their new bio-engineering project, the so-called 'venom' process. This insidious technology works to graft animal D.N.A. directly onto a human's, thus making them much more powerful. Though he knows little about biotechnology as of yet, you can rest assured that David's studying up... fast. After all, Cobra's venom-enhanced soldiers give the Joes a tactical disadvantage, and David just wouldn't feel right if he couldn't counter this somehow...
