Origin:

Like the vast majority of his fellow Joes, Farley is nothing but a human, even if he may seem to be possessed of super human skills in nasty climates. He has no ascendant powers, whether they come from an occult background, education in the psionic arts, genetic mutation, or anything else.

Known Powers:

(none)

Equipment:

9mm Semi-automatic Pistol:
a nice standby should he be denied the use of his vehicle(s), his main guns, or any other exotic weaponry he may have on him, Farley always carries at least one of these. This pistol can be fired to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage with a single shot, +1 CS in a semi-auto spread.

Arctic Gear: when on the job in the cold, Farley always wears an insulated, fur-lined winter coat, some sort of face protection (goggles and/or a frost-free face mask), a knitted hat of some sort, insulated boots (with crampons), insulated trousers, and if without a vehicle, skis and ski poles.

Assault Snow Board (v1): mixing work and pleasure, Farley occasionally uses this device on the job. It mostly works like ordinary snow boards, save for the two miniature 'ski torpedoes' mounted on the thing, miniature explosive devices that function with the following vehicular statistics:

Damage
Remarkable (30) Edged Attack

Buck Knife: Farley's almost always got a knife on him during missions - and just about any other time, as well... you never know when you'll need to cut something. Made from Incredible (40) m.s. metals, this blade can cut through items of like m.s., and allows Farley to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee.

the Joe-Com *: this is a new device given to all Joes upon the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with a Typical (6) - 250 mile - range, is equipped with a G.P.S. system, a heart monitor, and can store up to a terabyte of raw data - not bad, eh?

Of course, this device also stores a variety of nutrients it can use to supplement activity, which are absorbed directly into one's pores (think of this as Feeble (2) life support, where food is concerned). So, not only is the thing a nice, high tech video phone, but it can also save one's life in a pinch!

M-16 Assault Rifle (v2): Farley often carries this, his personal favorite firearm, on missions (in addition to anything else). Fitted with a starlight scope (for firing at night), this gun can be shot to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage in a single shot, +1 CS in a small burst, and +2 CS in a full auto spread.

Rifle: when surprise is on his side, Farley often makes use of a high power rifle to do his dirty work. He can fire this weapon to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage per attack. Furthermore, it has a 'scope on top that he can use to gain a +1 CS to hit when he takes a turn to ambush his foe.

* The Joe-Com is something that the Joes started using in their new (as of 2001) comic, and was featured on the first 2005 Frostbite figure, but not the second.

Quirks:

(none)

Talents:

Guns:
a part of Farley's basic military training involved learning how to use most any firearm that the U.S. Army is likely to have handy. Whether it be a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even a more exotic arm like a shotgun, Farley can use it at his Agility score +1 CS.

Marksman: in addition to his training with standard military firearms, Farley has also received extensive education in the use of more... heavier weaponry. When utilizing any heavy weapons with a line of sight range (rocket launchers, mortars, ski torpedoes, etc...), Farley does so at a +1 CS.

Military / United States: having been recruited into the armed forces, Farley has this talent as a general matter of course. This talent grants him an inherent understanding of military protocols and procedures, grants him various military contacts, and serves as an origin of sorts for his many skills.

Repair / Tinkering: since a large portion of his duties involve fixing vehicles should they break down (or get damaged in battle), Farley is well-versed in mechanical repairs, no matter what vehicle is involved. He should receive a +1 CS to FEATs called for when fixing or modifying mechanical devices.

Survival: while originally a cold climate survivalist, Farley has received training in the means of getting by just about anywhere, whether it be the Arctic Circle, the Sahara Desert, or almost anywhere else. No matter where he finds himself, Farley can collect enough food, water, and shelter to get by.

Vehicular Combat: after joining the military, Farley was well trained in the principles of vehicle to vehicle combat - no matter what he happens to be driving, or where he's driving it. When engaged in vehicular combat, Farley should make all applicable FEAT rolls at a +1 CS to the rank in question.

Contacts:

As a long-standing member of the elite, anti-terrorist force known as G.I. Joe, Farley can naturally rely upon that group for assistance in a pinch - since anytime that he's in need of help is likely when on a mission; the man can easily take care of himself otherwise. He's also got numerous, supplemental military contacts.

Costume:

Farley's tenth G.I. Joe field uniform is like his ninth in composition. It includes a white and gray, insulated and fur lined jacked over a brown turtleneck sweater, white and gray camouflage patterned trousers, white gloves, a dark gray cap, dark gray leather boots, belts and knee pads, and a mirrored golden visor.

His eleventh field uniform is similar to his seventh. It consists of a white pair of trousers, a blue and white, insulated jacket over a black turtleneck sweater, a white hat, black leather boots and gloves, brown and blue belts to holds various pouches, and a black mirrored visor to prevent Snow Blindness.

Personality:

If there's any one word to describe Farley's personality, it's cool. And that's not just because of the climes he prefers, oh no. He grew up in one of the harshest terrains on earth, and learned real fast that the key to keeping yourself alive in bad situations is to keep your head about you.

Of course, being one tough cookie helps. You see, Farley isn't easily amused, not being happy unless he's truly challenged. This is what caused him to join up with the Joes in the first place - he was just bored in his old, civilian job. This means he'll almost never balk at a mission, no matter how tricky it may be.

Story:

Farley was born in Galena, Alaska, and has always been at home in nice, cold climates. So much so, in fact, that he gets along in the fierce Arctic tundra almost as well as anyone else can enjoy a clear Spring afternoon. As such, he had no problem working as an Alaska Pipeline lineman for a time.

Well, that's not entirely true; his problem with that job was the fact that he found it unchallenging, despite the 40 degree below zero temperatures that he often faced, not to mention other hazardous conditions. This led him to eventually quit due to his dissatisfaction, and he fell in with a 'bad crowd'.

Farley engaged in all manner of bad behavior during this time, quite a bit of which was illegal, until he'd had enough of this chicanery as well - Farley just didn't have a criminal bone in his body. This is what prompted him to join the Army - they promised him all the honest challenge he could handle.

Farley put in his time in Basic, and graduated from the Fort Ustis transportation school and Fort Knox armored school. This gave him quite a few vehicular combat capabilities that, in addition to his skills with various U.S. Army firearms, made him an intriguing candidate for membership in the G.I. Joe team.

See, they had a brand new vehicle, the Snow Cat, and it required a driver who could not only handle driving it in adverse conditions, but who could get out and fix the thing should it break down - or otherwise be disabled - in the field. Battling Cobra in the ice and snow sounded just perfect to Farley.

Quite the challenge, that.

Farley filled this role for the team for quite a while, in fact, but eventually got put through desert survival training as well, for the team had reconditioned some of its Snow Cats into desert vehicles, the Tiger Cats. Wanting somebody at the wheel of these things that knew them well, the Joes used Farley's abilities again.

So, after having done that, Farley got to it in the so-called Tiger Force for a time, but when that gig was done, he returned to his assignment as one of the Joe team's cold weather troopers. There's been quite a few of them over the years, including Snow Job and Iceberg - and Farley works well with 'em all.

Of course, things went sour for the Joe team in '94, when government cutbacks called for the dissolution of the unit. While he was out of action, Farley returned to school, training to become a counselor for teens trapped in substance abuse situations - this to prevent others from making his own, youthful mistakes.

He takes these classes in the evening, which allowed him to eventually make his way back to the G.I. Joe team when it was reassembled but a few short yeras after it was decommissioned. Though he didn't arrive quite as fast as his fellow Arctic specialists, Farley came back with a new uniform and a new ride.

While not actually in the field, Farley can often be found in the G.I. Joe motor pool, helping to maintain the team's vast fleet of combat vehicles, often alongside good friend Clutch. Even when he's not on an active status, he's more than happy to lend a hand in keeping his friends' gear in fighting condition!
