the Moray Hydrofoil Possibly Cobra's greatest sea-going vessel, the Moray is a powerful and fast hydrofoil. It can move at speeds of up to 48 knots, and that's before you extend the hydrofoils! It is a great vehicle for the purposes of high speed pursuit and attack missions. In addition to their speed, the Moray Hydrofoils are armed to the teeth. They have two main guns on the side, two secondary guns, four tertiary guns on the back, two torpedoes, a hidden missile bay, and even depth charges! In game terms, the Moray Hydrofoil functions as follows: C S B P Ex 20 Ex 20 Ex 20 Gd 10 Black-Ray Torpedoes: these powerful projectiles can be used to target craft either on or below the surface of the water. They are fast, and will inflict +1 CS damage if both of them strike a singular target. They have these vehicular characteristics: C S B Damage Ex 20 Am 50 Ex 20 Incredible (40) Edged Attack (fragmentary) Cobra-band Radio: Cobra gear uses a communication system of its own, not beholden to conventional broadcast standards. The Moray in particular has comm gear with a Typical (6) range (250 miles), and benefits from Excellent (20) ranked signal encryption as well. Depth Charges: Kept in two remote-release, rear-mounted binnacles, the Moray has the use of a bevy of these explosives. While they cannot be aimed, per se, they can be dropped on a submerged foe to inflict Incredible (40) Edged Attack (fragmentary) damage upon impact. HE-07A Low Flight Missiles: both of these projectiles are mounted on the upper sides of the Moray's cockpit. These missiles inflict the listed damage when fired singly, adding a +1 CS if both can manage to hit a single target. They have these statistics: C S B Damage Gd 10 Am 50 Ex 20 Remarkable (30) Edged Attack (fragmentary) Jumpstart Missiles: there are four of these in the Moray's hidden missile bay, each of which is a surface to surface projectile. These missiles inflict the listed damage when fired singly, adding a +1 CS for each doubling of missiles that hits a single target: C S B Damage Gd 10 Am 50 Ex 20 Remarkable (30) Edged Attack (fragmentary) Lateral Machine Guns: the Moray's rear half has room for a large contingent of passengers, and there are two of these guns mounted on each side of the craft for their use. They inflict Good (10) Shooting damage in a short burst, raised +1 CS under sustained fire. Remote-fire Machine Gun: just in front of the space between the pilot and co-pilot seat in the Moray is a 19mm machine gun. It can only fire straight ahead, but can inflict Good (10) Shooting damage in a short burst of lead, raised +1 CS when opened up fully automatic. Shore Assault Cannons: these twinned 55mm cannons are situated on each side of the Moray; one port, one starboard. They are fired in tandem, and will inflict Remarkable (30) Shooting damage in a controlled burst, or Incredible (40) Shooting damage when fired full auto. Spotlight: in front of the co-pilot seat of the Moray is a large spotlight that its occupant can use to, well, spot targets. It projects Remarkable (30) illumination, and can do so in either the Moray's current area or in an adjacent one, in order to find its foes. Twin-barrel Cannon: mounted on a turret atop the Moray, this twinned gun can be pivoted horizontally or vertically, to handle targets on the ground or in the air. It inflicts Excellent (20) Shooting damage in short bursts, raised by +1 CS when fired full auto.
