Powers:

(none)

Equipment:

CBR Suit (s): this bright yellow, sealed suit is what allows Kurt to do his primary work for the Gi Joe team, as it is equipped with a four hour supply of air, and has the ability to repel biological, chemical and nuclear contaminants with +5 ability.

Rifle (a): Kurt also carries a rifle that he can fire to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, or +5 in a semi-automatic spread. Of course, it's also equipped with a powerful chemical sensor that can identify toxic substances with intensity 10 ability.

Hindrances:

(none)

Skills:

Boxing (s): a part of his basic training, this skill showcases Kurt's ability to defend himself unarmed when he has to. He may divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the last of which will occur as a contingent action.

Chemistry (i): his claim to fame, this skill is the basis of all Kurt's work on the Gi Joe team. It allows him a reduced difficulty on on all Intellect actions related to chemistry, which comes in handy when mixing things in the lab or defusing toxins in the field.

Marksmanship (a): another part of his essential military training, this skill describes Kurt's ability to fire a weapon when necessary. Whether he's wielding a standard, semi automatic or fully automatic rifle or pistol - even his own, oddball weapon - he may do so at a reduced difficulty.

Military / United States (w): the source of all his documented talents, this skill also represents an 'origin' of sorts for Kurt. It details that he's well versed in the Army Way (usually known as the Standard Operating Procedure), knowing such like the back of his hand.

Calling:

Youthful Exuberance: though he's technically an adult and has been hammered through the military training machine, Kurt is still a big kid at heart. He knows that one mistake could cost him his life, but he simply doesn't worry about this (or else he probably wouldn't sleep at night).

Costume:

When in the field, Kurt wears his CBR suit at all times - though he only puts on his helmet if the suit is actually needed. It mainly consists of a bright yellow, baggy plastic suit, with green gloves, green boots, a green belt, a green and black helmet, and a green backpack and equipment vest.

Personality:

Kurt is an unrepentant practical joker and science geek - he's the kind of guy you can't help but thinking of as strange. At the same time, he's a likeable sort that gets along with most everyone - even if folks don't seem to get exactly what makes him tick most of the time.

Story:

Kurt was always the weird kid growing up. He was the guy in class that could hold his breath the longest, and that guy with the biggest collection of toy dinosaurs that you knew. He didn't outgrow these (and other) tendencies, though - no, Kurt just got weirder and weirder with time.

A science geek, he gravitated towards the Army with intent to use the Gi Bill for college, but found that CBR (Chemical, Biological, Nuclear) field work was much more satisfying, and allowed him to play merciless practical jokes on his co workers (they tend to be a bit wound up).

Excelling at what he does, Kurt was eventually selected to join the hand-picked Gi Joe team. Surviving the grueling, torturous entrance exams, he proved his mettle on his final test, administered by Lady Jaye, when the team ran afoul of Cobra operatives doing the same with Doctor Mindbender.

Though Kurt and company were initially captured, they managed to turn the tables on the evil Doctor's creations, the Battle Android Troopers and the Creeper Vines, and sent him (and his minders, Destro and the Baroness) packing. Once on the team though, things got real interesting for Kurt.

He got to engage in all kinds of bizarre, classified Special Missions, including the defusing of a chemical weapon left in Greenland by actual Nazis - with a little help from Alpine. The majority of Kurt's activities with the Gi Joe team are still classified to this very day, however.

He served with distinction until the team's first deactivation, when it was decided by the powers that be that Cobra was no longer a threat requiring a unique unit to keep it in check. This quickly proved to be an error, and unopposed, Cobra became an even greater threat to freedom.

When the Joes were put back in action, Kurt eventually hooked back up with the team, helping them on various major operations against Cobra, including the second Cobra Island Civil War, and Cobra's greatest attempt to conquer the world ever, World War III itself!

With Cobra seemingly broken again, the Joes were not deactivated prematurely a second time. No, they were kept around to maintain global security until the world could rebuild the major damage Cobra caused... not to mention until Cobra's escaped operatives are finally behind bars...
