Equipment:

Grenades (i): David always has at least one of these explosives handy on missions - usually pinned to his jacket. They can be thrown to inflict intensity 10 damage to all uncovered targets within near missile range of where they detonate.

Helmet (s): David usually wears this sturdy head gear on the job - safety is everyone's job, after all! It provides David his Strength +2 protection against head-based physical attacks - at least, those that don't actually strike him in the face.

Knife (s): you never know when you're going to have to cut something - or someone - in the field. As such, David always carries a blade with him on the job, which can be used to inflict his Strength +2 damage in melee, or to cut through items of up to m.s. 12.

Machine Gun (a): his main weapon, David always has this trusty device with him on missions. It can be fired to inflict a single shot for his Agility +4 damage, a short burst for his Agility +5 damage, and a full auto spread for his Agility +6 damage.

Parachuting Gear (a): when he has to jump out of a plane or aircraft, David makes use of this gear. It includes of course the parachute, which lets him touch down on the ground in the proper, unbroken condition, as well as goggles which let him see as he rapidly approaches the ground.

Semi-automatic Pistol (a): a handy back-up should his main weapon fail him, David carries this small hand cannon on him at all time. David can fire this weapon to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, or his Agility +5 damage in a semi-automatic burst.

Hindrances:

(none)

Skills:

Boxing (s): an ability that everyone learns in their Basic training, David can easily defend himself should he find himself without weapons. He may divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the last of which occurs as a contingent action.

Marksmanship (a): a skill everyone picks up in the military these days, David can easily operate most standard firearms. Whether he's handling a standard, semi-automatic or fully automatic rifle or pistol, David may do so at a reduced difficulty level.

Military / United States (w): serving as an origin of sorts for David, this talent is the source of almost all his other skills. It describes how he knows the S.O.P. like the back of his hand, and how he can effortlessly function in a military environment.

Performing (w): a skill he worked on all through his childhood, David is an impressive organist - he'd have been one of the truly greats if only his fingers were a bit longer. He can distract others with a performance, if he passes an average difficulty Willpower (willpower) action.

Calling:

Soldier: David enjoys his job, as he gets to work out his aggression against real, live evil terrorists almost on a daily basis. He does it for his country of course, but sometimes it's nice to work out some of that rage over a lost musical career now and then...

Costume:

David wears a practical uniform while active as Crazylegs. It includes a gray jacket with red padding on the chest and shoulders, gray trousers with that red padding along the inner thighs, brown leather gloves, black leather belts and boots, and a red helmet with black goggles on top.

Personality:

Though he has a peaceful and artistic side to him, David earned his code name for a reason - the man is nigh-fearless. He'll leap head-first into trouble without batting an eye - usually humming something from Bach while he successfully attempts the impossible.

Story:

David had been working all through his youth to become a master organist, and may've ultimately become one of the world's greatest had his fingers only been a bit longer. Needing something else to do with his time whne he realized his work was for naught, David enlisted in the Army.

There, he quickly proved how nigh-fearless he was, becoming a fully qualified Airborne Ranger - not to mention a forward artillery observer. Having shown his willingness to engage in the riskiest of mission profiles for his country, David was quickly noticed by the Gi Joe team.

Always having a need for more elite terrorist-stomping military men, the Joes recruited David into their ranks, and once he'd gotten through the various grueling entrance exams, he became a fully fledged member. Of course, his very first mission didn't go very well at all.

Originally assigned to extract several Joes operating in Sierra Gordo with Wild Bill and Maverick, their plane was hijacked by several Dreadnoks wanting to leave the unstable country in a hurry - and they forced the Joes into flying them out by taking a busload of locals hostage!

Having little choice, Wild Bill flew them out - though the Joes' plane was quickly shot out of the air by the local militia. Several folks were injured in the crash, including Dreadnok Thrasher, who Crazylegs had to 'anesthetize' with the butt of his rifle.

Saddled with a bunch of locals and several surly, out of their element bikers, David and company had to make their way through the jungle to another airport. Stealing an additional plane, they finally escaped Sierra Gordo... though their mission was ultimately a failure.

David next saw action during the Cobra Island Civil War, fighting with his teammates to help bolster Serpentor's rule over the despotic Cobra Commander, who was actually not the real deal. This mission was also a failure for the Joes, but not due to any fault of their own.

David participated in several additional missions with the Joes afterward, though most were of a 'Special Missions' status, the details of which have yet to be revealed. David's last mission with the Joes took place in the desert nation of Trucial Abysmia.

On a supposed 'milk run' against Cobra Terror Dromes there, David and the team of Joes he was working with were captured by a surprise force of Cobras, who were on their way elsewhere. They had to deal with the Joes somehow though, and misinterpreted an order from the Commander.

Giving a SAW-Viper the job, the Crimson Twins left him to do the dirty deed, and while the Joes were unarmed and in a small pit, he gunned several of them down, including poor David. Due to his valor in service, he was at least buried in the Arlington national cemetery.

Not that that's much consolation to the man's family...
