Gi Joe: 1987 Personnel and Equipment

Personnel:

Chuckles comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Crazylegs: David was on his way to becoming one of the world's greatest organists, but ultimately his rather short fingers put the kibosh on that goal. Fast Draw: something of a one man arsenal, Eliot is the Gi Joe team's F.A.F.N.I.R. (Fire And Forget Non-tube-launched Infantry Rocket) operator, and he's very good with this gear. So much so that he sometimes seems like unto a high tech, missile-firing gunslinger when facing down Cobra goons! Fast Draw comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Gung-Ho: one of the roughest and gruffest folk you'll ever meet, Ettienne was born and raised in a swamp. After joining the Marines, he proved himself time and time again, and has shown the same level of achievement as a long-standing member of the Gi Joe team! Gung-Ho comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Hardtop: a man of few words, Nicholas instead speaks with actions. Of course, his actions usually involve building things for the Gi Joe teams, no matter how tricky the situation may be. He also drives and maintains the crawler / gantry designed to launch Gi Joe's space vehicles! Hardtop comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Jinx: a member of the Arashikage family, Kimi naturally became a member of the associated ninja clan. Jinx comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Law & Order: after years as a beat cop in Houston, Christopher joined the Army in order to find a more fulfilling way to be a policeman, taking his trusty dog Order with him. His sheer devotion to the job ultimately got him a job on the Joe team - if under odd circumstances... Law & Order comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Psyche-Out: wielding a doctorate in psychology and an expertise in predictive behavioral analysis and paranoia-inducing ultra low frequency radio waves, Kenneth is the perfect psy-ops expert for the Gi Joe team. He brings his mastery of others' actions to bear in all kinds of covert operations! Psyche-Out comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Outback: Stuart is the consummate survivalist - but then, as a survival and jungle warfare instructor, he'd better be, really. The man is at his happiest when he's living off the land, hiking and camping days away from civilization and immersing himself in the wilds that surround him! Outback comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Rumbler: a former I.R.S. revenue agent, Earl-Bob was 'encouraged' to enlist in the Army instead - this after he'd demolished seven government vehicles and incurred several lawsuits in the course of his 'aggressive' work to apprehend tax evaders, stamp dodgers and moonshiners! Rumbler comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Sneak Peek: growing up with a love of nature in eerie Bangor, Maine, Owen King joined the Army as soon as he could. Using his wilderness skills to become a fully qualified Army Ranger, Owen has since gone on to become one of the Gi Joe team's greatest reconnaissance operatives! Sneak Peek comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Starduster: originally a circus acrobat, Edward was recruited onto the Gi Joe team when Duke saw his act and thought it'd be even better with a jet pack. Somehow convincing Edward of this logic, Duke got him onto the team, where he's been wowing his fellows in the air ever since! Starduster comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Steam-roller: Averill has always enjoyed driving the big rigs, from huge cargo cranes on the Great Lakes to earth movers in the Appalachian strip mines. Of course, he joined the Army to get at their immense rides, a career path that put him behind the wheel of the Mobile Command Center! Steam-roller comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Steel Brigade: the Gi Joe team excels in all areas, but sometimes it comes in handy to have a local angle on domestic activities. Steel Brigadiers comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Tunnel Rat: after being raised on the rather surly streets of Brooklyn back in the day, Nicky grew up to be tough, indomitable, and somewhat jaded. the Renegades

Mercer: an ex-Cobra Viper who has 'seen the light', Felix has turned on his former terrorist allies and is now all about stopping their every scheme. Red Dog: a former pro football player, David Taputapu got sacked for unnecessary roughness. Red Dog comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Taurus: Varujan Ayvazyan was a Turkish circus acrobat who had a habit of doing undercover work for Interpol, when he wasn't smashing 2x4 boards with his face under the big top. Battle Force 2000

Dodger: an old hand at tank warfare, Richard is also an expert in the newest electronic gewgaws that go into armored vehicles. Dodger comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Knockdown: an anti-aircraft specialist, Blaine intimately knows how easily an airborne vehicle can crash down to earth in a flaming ball of doom - he's rather scared of flying, after all. Maybe that's why this microwave technician prefers to remain on the ground while shooting at Cobras, then...! Knockdown comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Maverick: having flown since he was a child, Thomas (not Tom Cruise) naturally decided to join the Air Force as soon as he could, and participated in all manner of experimental flight programs after graduating from the Air Force Academy. Why else do you think the Battle Force 2000 snatched him up? Maverick comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Equipment:

the Coastal Defender: a small, towed device, the coastal defender looks like a mere trailer when not in use. However, it can be quickly transformed by a Joe into a one man missile platform that can be operated from the rear of almost any vehicle in the Gi Joe arsenal! the Coastal Defender comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Crossfire: a fast and heavily armed, off-road vehicle, the Crossfire is perfect for engaging in hit and run operations against Cobra's terrorist forces. This makes it the perfect ride for Rumbler, since that Joe is more than happy to engage in vehicular violence at the drop of a hat! the Crossfire comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Defiant Space Vehicle Launch Complex: the crown jewel of the 1987 Gi Joe arsenal, this incredible equipment allows the team to take the fight against Cobra to space itself! Consisting of a crawler gantry, a booster rocket / space station and a space vehicle, it is incredibly versatile! the Defiant Space Complex comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Gi Joe Motorized Micro-accessories: bucking the trend of most Gi Joe equipment from their era, these devices are rather small, and can be carried by a single Joe if necessary. Assembled in the field, these motorized devices provide the Joes a variety of useful capabilities. These Micro-accessories come in Classic and Saga styles!

the Mobile Command Center: simply huge, the M.C.C. is a three story tall tracked vehicle that the Gi Joe team can use as an on-the-go forward base in the never-ending war against terrorism fostered by Cobra. It has everything the Joes need to keep tabs on and counter their enemy with! the M.C.C. comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Persuader: a small yet powerful vehicle, the Persuader is essentially a rolling laser cannon. Built for defense while packing a staggering offense, this vehicle is a perfect fit for its driver, Backstop, who tends to play hard and fight even harder! the Persuader comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Road Toad: like the coastal defender, the road toad is towed into battle by another vehicle. The road toad is intended to help the Joes recover other disabled vehicles however, only being armed because Cobra likes nothing more than to gun down support personnel...! the Road Toad comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the S.L.A.M.: the Strategic Long-range Artillery Machine (or as you may have guessed, the S.L.A.M.) is a self-propelled weapon of immense destructive potential. It has the same firepower as an Armadillo mini-tank while being even smaller - and is loaded up with missiles, to boot! the S.L.A.M. comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Battle Force 2000

the Dominator: a cold weather tank, the Dominator can be split into two separate components, one of which is much more mobile than the other. Both are heavily armed and armored however, which makes sense considering that this vehicle serves as the 'base' of the Future Fortress... Avalanche's Marauder comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Eliminator: a heavy duty, high speed attack jeep, the Eliminator is a fitting ride for former taxi driver Blocker - the man has always wanted a heavily armored ride to shoot back at his foes with. It even has a bonus component that can let a teammate offer him instant fire support! Blocker's Eliminator comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Future Fortress: unique amongst the various Gi Joe prefabricated bases, the Future Fortress is not only pre-built - but is made from components donated from six different Battle Force 2000 vehicles. This odd construction allows it to literally be installed and ready in minutes! the Future Fortress comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Marauder: this strange component of the Battle Force 2000 line of theoretical weapons research is a sort of 'tank-motorcycle' - or 'motorcycle-tank'. The two components can detach however, in the event that the driver wants to be in two places at once! Dodger's Marauder comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Sky Sweeper: Knockdown's ride is an advanced anti-aircraft vehicle, with an optional stand-alone sentry post that can be installed either by itself or as a part of the Battle Force 2000's Future Fortress. It also lets Knockdown deal with his phobic aversion to aircraft of all kinds... Knockdown's Sky Sweeper comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Vector: a highly advanced fighter jet, the Vector is built to move at speeds you wouldn't expect from something its size - all while being relatively radar resistant. It is equipped with a ballistics pod that can provide fire support or merge with other Battle Force 2000 vehicles! Maverick's Vector comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Vindicator: the ultimate expression of Blaster's development of ground effects technology, the Vindicator is a hovercraft that isn't tied to the ground, and is as maneuverable as any helicopter.
