Powers:
(none)
Equipment:
Helmet (s): Thomas always wears this head gear on the job. It provides him +2 protection against head-based attacks, and is equipped with a communications headset with a intensity 1 range; just enough to sync up with the comm gear in his Vector.
Machine Pistol (a): though advanced in design, Thomas' sidearm still has all the capabilities of a normal military hand gun. It can be fired to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, raised to his Agility +5 damage in a semi-automatic spread.
the Vector (i): while he often flies other aircraft for the Joes, none agree with Thomas as well as the Vector. This futuristic fighter jet comes complete with a powerful manned turret, which can detach to help form the Future Fortress, and is described in its own vehicular entry.
Hindrances:
(none)
Skills:
Aerial Combat (s): in addition to being a competent pilot, Thomas is also well-versed in the art of aerial combat. Whenever he's forced into dogfight conditions, Thomas can make applicable aerial combat maneuvers at one difficulty level lower than is normally necessary.
Boxing (s): an ability that everyone learns in their Basic training, Thomas can easily defend himself should he find himself without weapons. He may divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the last of which will occur as a contingent action.
Marksmanship (a): a skill everyone picks up in the military these days, Thomas can easily operate most conventional firearms. Whether he's handling a standard, semi-automatic or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Thomas may do so at a reduced difficulty.
Military / United States (w): Thomas has always wanted to fly for a living - where else would he get his start but in the Air Force? As a result of his military training, he knows its protocols and procedures (the S.O.P.) like the back of his hand.
Piloting (a): Thomas has been in the air since he was a wee youth; at first just as a passenger, but later as a pilot in his own right. Reinforced by Air Force training, this knack lets him attempt aerial maneuvers at one difficulty level lower than is usually required.
Calling:
Soldier, with a secondary calling of Thrill-seeker: Thomas loves flying, whether he's actually dogfighting or just sailing peacefully through the skies. He gladly does what he loves for his country, since it lets him do his duty while enjoying himself at the same time!
Costume:
Thomas has a somewhat 'futuristic' flight uniform. It includes a baggy white flight suit over a green turtle neck sweater and beneath a silvery vest, blue gloves, green boots with blue pouches at the top, blue hip pouches, and a large blue flight helmet.
Personality:
Thomas only truly feels at home when he's in the air, but then he's spent most of his waking time (when not in school) in some airplane or another. He's generally personable, and tends to get along with most folks rather well, especially his fellows in the Battle Force 2000.

Story:
Ever since he was a kid, Thomas has loved flying. When he was a toddler, his mother used to fly an old Stearman biplane across the Midwest, spraying crops for boilworms and the like. She would just strap him in with a jelly sandwich and a squirt gun and get to work!
Completely comfortable in the air, Thomas grew up to enlist in the Air Force, and he graduated at the top of his class from the Air Force Academy. He's volunteered for every single experimental program he could over the years, giving him experience with all manner of leading edge gear.
It doesn't hurt that he's acclimatized to high G forces, incredibly agile and of course has vision that is almost super-human in clarity. Thomas was going to go places in the Air Force, that's for sure - at least, until he was snatched up by the Gi Joe recruiters.
Though he doesn't know the first thing about building advanced aircraft, the Joes were more than ready to build one for him. Quickly moved into its Battle Force 2000 unit, Thomas was given the experimental Vector fighter jet to test out - and test it out he did!
Operating under the code name Maverick, Thomas (not Tom Cruise) has put his Vector through its paces, both during its original test run in Freusenland alongside his fellow Battle Force 2000 operatives and in various covert, special missions for the Gi Joe team.
He's also served as a pilot for the team in general, assisting Wild Bill in the operation of its C-130 transport while ferrying the Joes to and fro around the world. He served the Joes with distinction for several years, at least until the Battle of Benzheen.
In this conflict, Thomas was assigned to fly through an oil field as air support for the rest of Battle Force 2000, but he and his teammates were sold out by the corrupt Emir they were on hand to protect. Thanks to his betrayal, Cobra learned where the Force was.
Shelling them while they were in the middle of the oil field, Cobra artillery vaporized most of the Battle Force 2000's rides in the ensuing explosion - along with them inside! Killed in action, Thomas was buried alongside his fellow dead Joes in the Arlington National Cemetery.
