Equipment:
Helmet (s): this stylized, gold-plated steel helmet is the part of his uniform that tells everybody that he's the man in charge of the General. It provides him +2 protection (from physical attacks) from non-face head shots, and has a built in comm link with intensity 6 - 250 mile - range.
The General (i): the terrifying mechanized beast he was recruited onto the Gi Joe team to command, this mobile artillery platform and fortress is a terrifying sight to behold - even before it opens fire. This beast, Robert's pride and joy, is described in its own vehicular entry.
Semi-automatic Pistol (a): this stylized, gold-plated pistol is another emblem Robert carries as a sign that he's the man running the show while the General is rolling. He can fire this weapon to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, +5 in a semi-automatic spread of lead.
Hindrances:
(none)
Skills:
Artillery (a): Robert is a master marksman, in that he's very good at calculating trajectories and hitting any number of targets with 'line of sight' weaponry - it's one thing that makes him such a good tank commander. He operates such machinery at a reduced difficulty.
Boxing (s): another essential talent taught him by the U.S. military, this skill describes Robert's ability to defend himself should he find himself unarmed. he may divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the last of which will be a contingent action.
Marksmanship (a): an essential talent taught him by the military, this skill denotes Robert's ability to effectively wield firearms. Whether he's got a standard, semi-automatic, fully automatic rifle, pistol or energy caster in hand, he may fire it at a reduced difficulty.
Military / United States (w): the source of all his talents, this skill serves as an 'origin' of sorts for Robert. It denotes his inherent understanding of military protocols and procedures, gives him numerous military contacts and perks, and of course signs his checks.
Calling:
Soldier: Robert is a product of the military way of life, and he's perfectly happy with that; he enjoys his job and happily does what his commanders order him to. He's gotten very good at what he does, and he's more than happy to keep on doing it in the service of the government.
Costume:
Robert's uniform is a relatively simple affair. It consists of a tan collared, long sleeved shirt under a brown (sometimes green) vest, tan trousers, dark brown leather boots, gloves, and belts, a dark brown holster for his pistol, and of course his shimmering golden helmet.
Personality:
The Major seems a friendly enough sort, even though he's seen plenty of action in his time; the man doesn't seem to have let it bring him down. Of course, one can easily attribute that to the fact that he rarely loses a battle, what with his overwhelming knowledge and confidence backing him up.

Story:
Sure, Robert learned the same things that every other tank jockey learned during their training, but the truth of it is that he acquired most of his useful knowledge about armor tactics and artillery in the field - blowing up live targets, fixing things when they break, all of this and more.
People like to say he's forgotten more about commanding tanks in the field than most others will ever learn, and they may be on to something; he's driven most of America's other major hardware in his time, including the M60A1 and the M1A1, but he was destined for more. So much more.
You see, knowing of the man's prowess behind the wheel of a tank, the powers that be got Robert an opening on the Gi Joe team. Once he managed to pass their grueling entrance exams, Robert was put in charge of that team's latest high tech artillery power house: the General.
This devastating, rolling mobile fortress is more than just a tank - though it can pose as one, what with that immense mortar cannon nestled within. Needing a full crew to be maintained an operated, it falls onto Robert to command this team, even if they get annoyed by him calling it his 'tank'.
Robert performed these duties for the Gi Joe team until its eventual, first deactivation in 1994, when the government decided Cobra was no longer a threat that warranted an entire unit to combat it. Naturally, this proved to be a grievous error, and the Joes were back in action soon enough.
Though not called back into action immediately, Robert was definitely pulled back into the fold soon enough, originally during Cobra Island's second Civil War, and then again when those terrorists instigated World War III itself. With them seemingly defeated again, Robert has stayed on, however.
Though their leader was captured and his minions scattered to the four winds, the government wants them brought in, and needs the Joes to hold things together while the world repairs the damage Cobra caused. Happy to do his part, Robert is sticking around until they send him home.
Where else can he get a job driving destructive hardware so... big?
