the Storm Eagle

The latest in a long line of Gi Joe fighter Jets, the Storm Eagle represents a water shed in aerial combat. The Storm Eagle does not carry guns of any variety, instead relying primarily on a high-powered laser cannon with which to engage and defeat enemy aircraft.

While it does carry a small brace of missiles to target ground-based opponents, the Storm Eagle solely uses its laser in air to air battle. It also possesses an advanced, stealth-shape configuration and an amazing top speed. It has these vehicular characteristics:

Body Armor (s): the Storm Eagle is built to protect its pilot, having a m.s. of 10. It has a high impact nose cone along with a reinforced, anti-glare composite canopy. This provides its pilot +2 protection from attack, as well as similarly-ranked Screened Senses for his vision.

Communications Gear (i): the Storm Eagle is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system. This makes for intensity 8 communications power (with a 2,500 mile range) that has intensity 10 signal encryption.

Flight (a): it's primary purpose, the Storm Eagle can fly - and rather quickly, too. It can operate at speeds in excess of Mach 2, which gives it this ability at intensity 12. Of course, it often flies slower when engaging targets on the ground...

Infra-red Video Surveillance System (w): the Storm Eagle has the ability to film enemy positions on the ground - even under night-time conditions! It can track targets by their heat, allowing the pilot to 'paint' targets even if visibility is otherwise zero in an area.

Liquid Fire Laser Cannon (a): this chin-mounted weapon is the only air to air offense the Storm Eagle has - or needs. It can be fired to inflict the pilot's Agility +7 energy damage per blast, and can continue to fire as long as the plane has power / fuel.

Radar (w): the Storm Eagle is equipped with powerful radar emitters, along with a similarly potent computer capable of interpreting what it 'sees'. It can easily map most ground terrain, and it functions with intensity 10 ability, with a line of sight range.

Tactical Missiles (i): the Storm Eagle is armed with four air to surface tactical missiles, each of which is designed not for speed but for accuracy - but then, they don't need to be that fast. These missiles inflict intensity 11 damage, +1 for each additional projectile that hits.
