the Starfighter

The Stellar Stiletto is Cobra's very first mass-produced space craft. It's used shuttle-like vehicles in the past, but the Stiletto was built for high speed combat in outer space - though it handles in the air just fine, too. Of course, they only used the design for a few years.

Taking a page from Cobra's own play book, the Gi Joe team decided to 'borrow' the design of the Stellar Stiletto, adding a few modifications of their own. First rolling out their new Starfighter while stopping a rogue Soviet-era asteroid-based weapon, the Joes decided they liked it - a lot.

This little red, white and blue combat space ship has these vehicular characteristics:

Body Armor: the Starfighter is built tough - it has to survive combat in vacuum, after all! It's reinforced frame and seven-layer alum-glass heat-resistant canopy give it an effective material strength of Excellent (20), and Good (10) protection to its pilot.

Communications Array: the Starfighter is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system. This makes for Excellent (20) communications power (with a 25,000 mile range) that has Remarkable (30) ranked signal encryption.

Environmental Independence: the Starfighter can support its pilot for about a day thanks to its stored air supply. This translates into Excellent (20) environmental independence, where air is concerned; if he doesn't bring his own food and water, the pilot will have to go without.

Flight: there's no doubt about it, the Starfighter is fast. The thing can fly at Unearthly (100) speeds in the atmosphere (600 m.p.h.), raised to Incredible (40) speeds out in space (15,000 m.p.h., or Mach 20). And you wonder why Sci-Fi likes to fly it so much?

Radar Array: Gi Joe's Starfighter is tied into the military's satellite network, which acts to enhance its own radar transceiver. It can pinpoint and track targets within four miles of its location (Amazing (50) ranked radar system).

Resistance to Cold and Pressure Variance: designed to operate in outer space, the Starfighter has to shield its occupants from the extreme cold and vacuum present present outside our atmosphere. It can resist these two hazardous forces at Monstrous (75) rank.

Resistance to Fire and Heat: re-entry causes friction - lots of friction. The reinforced carbon carbon (RCC) lining the Starfighter is especially designed with this in mind, and allows the vehicle to withstand fire and heat of up to Unearthly (100) intensity before it is endangered.

Slice Missiles: the Starfighter's secondary weaponry is its missiles. It has two Slice (Supersonic Laser-firing InterCEptor) missiles, each of which can fire -1 CS lasers (per the Starfighter laser, below) or detonate (per the Strike missiles, below), depending on the mission needs.

Starfighter Laser: the primary armament on the Starfighter, this self-named laser cannon is mounted under the nose cone. It can be fired to inflict Remarkable (30) Armor Piercing Energy damage per deadly blast, and is powered by the vehicle's rocket thrusters themselves!

Strike Missiles: the Starfighter's secondary weaponry is its missiles. It has two Strike DK-87 long range data-linked missiles, which are computer controlled once fired. They inflict the listed damage, +1 CS if both missiles strike a target simultaneously:
