Equipment:
Cosmic Climbing Backpack: allowing him to maneuver around outside a space craft, Space Shot's backpack is equipped with small ionic jets to flit around with intensity 1 speed (nothing fast, for his safety), as well as magnetic clamps and winches to pull himself about in a pinch.
Grenades (i): sometimes, you just got to blow something up. Space Shot carries three grenades on him while in the field, which he can fling out to near missile distance (in gravity) to inflict intensity 10 fragmentary damage to all within near missile distance of their detonation point.
the Joe-Com (i): this is a new device given to all Joes since the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with various other goodies built in to help a soldier on the go, and is described in greater detail in its own equipment entry.
LX-1 Laser Pistol (a): his sole side-arm, Space Shot truly loves this marvel of modern technology. He can fire it to inflict his Agility +5 energy damage per deadly blast, and as a beam of coherent photons, its output lacks mass - and thus has no kickback.
Space Suit (s): Space Shot's Gi Joe field uniform is a space suit! This pressurized suit allows Space Shot to function in the depths of space if necessary (good for when something breaks down). Space Shot's space suit has these enhanced capabilities:
* Environmental Independence (s): naturally, Space Shot's space suit allows him to breathe for significant lengths of time while otherwise cut off from usable air. His oxygen scrubber gives him about a week worth of air on one 'charge', allowing this ability (for air) at intensity 7.
* Helmet (s): in addition to helping him to function in space, Space Shot's space suit also protects his head from injury. It offers him +2 protection against physical attacks as long as they hit him in the head (even in his face).
* Resistance to Cold and Pressure Variance (s): similarly, Space Shot's space suit lets him actually survive the harsh environment of space long enough to worry about breathing in the first place. It gives him +10 resistance to the cold and vacuum of deep space.
Hindrances:
(none)
Skills:
Astronaut (a): his claim to fame, Space Shot is a master level space pilot! The man can operate most space craft at a reduced difficulty, and can resolve actions in that regard with either his Strength or his Agility - even where trumping is concerned.
Boxing (s): oddly enough, Space Shot wasn't well-versed in personal defense techniques until he enlisted to join the Gi Joe team. But now, he can split his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the second of which occurs as a contingent action.
Marksmanship (a): while he prefers directed energy weapons like his laser pistol, Space Shot has been trained in the art of conventional gunplay as well. He can fire any standard, semi-automatic or fully automatic rifle or pistol at one difficulty level lower than is normally required.
Military / United States (w): though he wasn't originally militarily minded, Space Shot enlisted at Duke's behest, even if he only got to serve as an active Joe for about a year. The man knows military protocols and procedures like the back of his hand these days.
Repair (a): it's not enough to be able to simply fly a space craft on long hauls between the stars - you've got to be able to fix it if something goes wrong. Space Shot has learned this skill through trial and error, and can fix most anything at a reduced difficulty in a pinch.
Spatial Combat (a): whether fighting man to man in the void or engaged in a star ship dog fight, Space Shot knows how to brawl in vacuum. He's well-versed in zero-G and high-G combat, as well as other space-based conditions, and makes combat actions in space at a reduced difficulty.
Calling:
Thrill-seeker: Space Shot fits this calling to a T, that's for sure. He loves taking amazingly stupid risks behind the stick of a space craft, but is so well-versed at doing the impossible under such conditions that he's constantly looking for even more crazy maneuvers to pull!
Costume:
Space Shot's pressurized space suit is a primarily white affair. However, it is accented with additional blue padding on the front of the boots, blue shoulder pads, red trim along the center torso, a red belt, red pads on his gloves and elbows, and his strangely elongated white helmet.
Personality:
George is something of a reckless and rebellious sort, but that's just the kind of traits that make him an incredibly capable pilot - he's always ready to try things that others deem impossible. He lacks proper military discipline, but the Gi Joe team is working on that...

Story:
It's not known exactly where George 'Space Shot' Roberts got his start, but the man has been working for a while as a freighter pilot in outer space itself! Was he employed by a shady group with ties to extra terrestrials, or some sort of dark corporate conspiracy? Nobody knows!
Something of an independent spirit, Space Shot has done his duty as a freighter for his mysterious benefactors for years, often engaging in combat as is necessary to protect his precious cargo - and usually exasperating his superiors with his reckless attitude and behavior.
In time, the man came to be known to conventional military circles, and the Gi Joe team's one and only Duke thought Space Shot had 'The Right Stuff'. So, talking him into military service, Duke successfully recruited Space Shot onto the Gi Joe team, though he needed some training first.
While a first rate space pilot, Space Shot lacked military discipline, and every single Joe needs that to function on the team. It took a bit of time, but soon enough Space Shot was ready to serve as a Gi Joe operative - and he quickly got to work doing what he does best.
Space Shot makes an excellent addition to the Gi Joe team's Star Brigade, who already has several space pilots among its number. The sheer, strange skill that Space Shot brings to the team as a deep space pilot is something otherwise outside their experience, however.
He performed these duties well for the Joes for a time, in fact helping to save the entire planet from a rogue, Soviet-era weaponized asteroid program gone awry. His official duties with the Gi Joe team ended in 1994 however, leaving the man without employment... for about six seconds.
Space Shot presumably returned to work for whichever enigmatic party employed him as a deep space freighter operator at this point, because who would settle for conventional service when the stars beckon! Of course, the Joes weren't put down for the long haul - oh no.
When the Gi Joe team was reactivated, Space Shot volunteered to serve as a pilot for the team in a reserve capacity, lending his skills to the Joes as was necessary - though admittedly, Cobra was much more earth-centric in their operations upon their revival in the late 90s...
