Origin:
Like the vast majority of the G.I.Joe fighting force, Ralph is a normal human, just a guy that does his part in the fight against evil without super human abilities of any sort. However, he is one heck of a mean tank operator...
Known Powers:
(none)
Equipment:
Helmet: Ralph's helmet is loaded up with all sorts of high tech goodies. For instance, it has an infra-visual lens on it (functioning at Good (10) rank), as well as a telescopic zoom function that provides the man Feeble (2) telescopic vision (having about a two mile range of magnification). Finally, it has a communications suite that works with Poor 4 ability (10 mile range).
the M.O.B.A.T.: a highly qualified tank operator, Ralph was usually seen in action behind the 'wheel' of this monster, the Motorized Battle Tank. His 'baby', he was about the only Joe qualified to command this beast in action, though he often relied on several other Joes to assist him in using it to crush enemy forces. Check this tank out in its own entry.
Pistol: in the unlikely event that he be stuck in action without both his tank and his Uzi, Ralph also carries this small weapon in a shoulder holster... just in case. This smaller, unidentified pistol can be used to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage per attack, and can likely hold six or nine shots within before needing to be reloaded.
Uzi 9mm Submachine Gun: Ralph this small assault hand-cannon in the event that he is found in action without his tank, for some odd reason (and it has happened). The gun can be used to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage in a single shot, +1 CS in a semi-automatic burst of lead. Furthermore, Ralph can fire it one-handed, but he does so at a -2 CS.
Quirks:
Stubbornness: Ralph has been noted, in his pre-G.I.Joe career, to have extensive problems with authority figures; why he joined the military, then, is something of a mystery. However, once he became a Joe, he mellowed out a bit (but that may simply say a lot about their leadership). Once he's made up his mind about something, Ralph cannot change it unless he passes a Psyche FEAT roll at -1 CS.
Talents:
Guns: Ralph knows guns. Whether they be standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic, he can use them with ease. Ralph makes attacks with any sort of non-energy projectile weapons at a +1 CS to his Agility score (as long as he's shooting, at least).
Martial Arts type B: part of his Army training included learning basic means of defending himself unarmed. As such, Ralph can make unarmed melee attacks as if his Fighting score were +1 CS. This includes punches, kicks, elbow smashes, and even head butts!
Military: though he's rather annoyed by folks telling him what to do, Ralph nonetheless is a military man. As such, he knows everything a body needs to about military protocols and the like, and he also receives the Military as a free contact.
Pilot / Tank: Ralph has been trained for years in the proper operation of a tank, both driving and firing it. He does so as if his Agility score were +1 CS (on both counts), and can apply this knowledge to just about any heavy industrial sized vehicle.
Repair / Tinkering: in addition to being able to drive a tank, Ralph has, by necessity, learned how to repair one in the field. His Reason score should be considered +1 CS for the purposes of fixing just about anything mechanical, though, as he's sort of a gear head.
Contacts:
As a Joe, Ralph can easily, easily rely upon the G.I.Joe organization for aid of any kind, as long as it's legal. The Joes look after their own. However, since being in the Joe group makes him a military man by default, Ralph can also rely upon the Military for aid, within reason, of course.
Costume:
Ralph, while in action, simply wears a green Army outfit (green pants and long sleeve shirt), with black boots, a black belt, and black gloves. He also wears a black shoulder holster which carries his emergency piece. Of course, he's usually got his high tech helmet on while in action, as well...
Personality:
Ralph has rough edges. He's rather stubborn, into heavy machinery, and really enjoys heavy metal music. These combined tendencies tend to paint him as something of a troublemaker, and have in fact gotten him in a spot of trouble during his military career.
However. Ralph nonetheless is one of the best there is at what he does, and that is tank combat - whether it be in an urban or rural setting. He does his duty with a smile, and that's usually because he's using his M.O.B.A.T. to pound the snot out of something...

Coming from an industrial middle class family in Pittsburgh, Ralph put himself through college with an ROTC scholarship and part-time work as a heavy equipment operator. Entering the Army soon after, he was assigned to the Cadre-X-AFV project from 1978 to 1980, after which time he was hooked up with the G.I.Joe team, who wanted his tank driving expertise.
One of the original Joes, Ralph was present for the team's somewhat public mission to rescue Dr Adele Burkhart from the evil Cobra Commander. Ralph was also on hand to thwart an attempt by Cobra to learn the location of the G.I.Joe secret base, doing so by crushing the robot the villains activated within (the Joes had captured it, and brought it in for research).
After about three years of active duty, Ralph was given a desk job, an odd situation for a tank jockey, though he nonetheless saw action during this time, including the Joes' attack on Springfield, the town that Cobra was using as its secret American base. After that particular mission, Ralph was assigned to test out new weaponry for the G.I.Joe team, along with several other original Joes.
Ralph continued on in this capacity, as well as the recruitment of new members of the team, until it was disbanded in '94. However, times changed, and with a massive resurgence in Cobra activity world-wide, the G.I.Joe team was reactivated, and it is assumed that, since most of the other surviving Joes have since come back into the fold, that Ralph joined in as well.
