A.W.E. Striker

The A.W.E. (All Weather Environment) Striker is a small, lightweight assault vehicle that the G.I. Joe team put through its paces beginning in 1985. A grass-green, off-road vehicle, this ride has an effective material strength of ten (for purposes of breaking it), and is possessed of these vehicular capabilities:

70mm Recoil-less Rifle: the A.W.E. Striker's single armament is this large, top-mounted monster. Having ten rounds when fully loaded, this beast can fire shells capable of inflicting damage per a +7 weapon with each blast - more than enough to take out small vehicles in combat - if not enemy infantry!

Communications Gear: the Striker is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system (and dual transceiver antennas). This makes for intensity 5 communications power (with a 100 mile range) that also has intensity 10 signal encryption.

Lightning Speed: the A.W.E. Striker is a pretty fast little thing, able to move at 60 miles per hour off-road (an effective 'lightning speed' intensity of 4), though this is boosted to 105 miles per hour when on a flat, road-like surface (an effective 'lightning speed' intensity of 5).

Off-Road Capability: the A.W.E. Striker looks pretty on parade, but it is equally maneuverable in just about any terrain. Its 175-70-VR15 off-road tires account for the vehicle's environmental versatility (no matter the surface they traverse), and the Nitrogen dampened suspension makes for a smooth ride anywhere.

Passengers: the A.W.E. Striker has room for more than just its driver - if barely. It seats two, having independent, low-backed driver and passenger seats, but also has a battle platform on the left and right side of the vehicle, each of which allows for an additional passenger, if necessary.

Quartz-Halogen Lamps: these twin lamps, mounted on the Striker's brushbar, are powerful light casting implements capable of producing intensity 10 illumination. This helps to deal with night conditions, and can provide an improvised blinding attack under certain (surprise) conditions.

Roll Cage: while it is an unarmored vehicle, per se, the A.W.E. Striker is equipped with an extended spaceframe roll cage, and a front-mounted brushbar to keep bits of plant and such from striking the vehicle's occupants. This offers +2 protection from crash / roll induced damage.

Targeting System: the A.W.E. Striker's 70mm cannon is trained on a foe with two electronic systems. The first is an infrared targeting beam the passenger can train on a foe, while the second is a gun-mounted override camera that the driver can position; both offer a +1 to attacks made with this weapon.

Eco-Striker

When the Eco-Warriors arm of the G.I. Joe team was founded, it was determined that they needed a few vehicles; but why design all new vehicles when you have some perfectly fine ones at hand? Keeping this in mind, a few old A.W.E. Strikers were converted into these blue and orange beasties.

Though the color scheme for this revamped off-road vehicle is rather outrageous (in military terms, at least), the Eco-Striker is nonetheless just as effective as its forebear. It has all of its ancestor's capabilities, too, with one exception - the 70mm recoil-less cannon was swapped with this device:

Water Cannon: used to wash away and/or dilute simple chemical spills, this pressurized water spraying cannon also has more or less non-lethal applications in combat. This cannon can be fired at an opponent to inflict intensity 10 concussion damage per pelting, which'll subdue most ordinary foes.

A.W.E. Striker (second issue)

A few years after the G.I. Joe team was reinstated, they re-continued the use of their old stand-by off-road vehicle, the A.W.E. Striker. Of course, the vehicle was generally modernized, and given a matte black coat of paint for a new, stealthier look, but this is basically the same ol' Striker as before.
