the Snow Cat
A vast improvement on the G.I. Joe team's existing arsenal of cold weather vehicles, the Snow Cat gave the Joes superiority in winter / Arctic conditions for years. This dull white, half-track vehicle has been Frostbite's baby for years, and is equipped with the following vehicular capabilities:
C Ex 20 |
S Gd 10 |
B Rm 30 |
P Gd 10 |
Avalanche Ski Missiles: the Snow Cat has two of these missiles mounted on it, one to each side. These curious projectiles don't fly at a foe, so much as rocket towards him on the ground thanks to a large ski beneath its thruster. The ski missiles have these vehicular statistics:
C Ex 20 |
S Un 100 |
B Ex 20 |
Damage In 40 Edged Attack* |
Communications Array: the Snow Cat is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system, allowing for constant team communications. This makes for Typical (6) comm power (with a 250 mile range) that has Remarkable (30) ranked signal encryption.
Half-Track Drive: the Snow Cat has a rather versatile drive mechanism, in that it does have two all-wheel drive wheels up front, but is primarily propelled by a large track mechanism in the rear. This allows the vehicle to traverse most any terrain, without a significant loss of speed.
HE-27 Shockwave Missiles: the primary armament on the Snow Cat, these four projectiles are launched from a rear-mounted, rotational missile turret that can traverse at up to a 45 degree angle. These handy surface to surface/air missiles are possessed of these vehicular statistics:
C Rm 30 |
S Mn 75 |
B Ex 20 |
Damage Rm 30 Edged Attack * |
Personnel Battle Platforms: the Snow Cat, while it has room for one passenger in addition to its driver, is also equipped with three battle platforms. Each of these external platforms - one on the rear, the other two on each side of the 'Cat - can carry two additional troops if necessary.
Xenon Spotlamps: the Snow Cat has two sets of lights, in the event that one is knocked out (or covered in snow). The first set is on the front, while the other is a roof-mounted auxiliary pair. They can produce Excellent (20) illumination each, or +1 CS light if used in tandem.
* All six of the Snow Cat's missiles, whether they be airborne or ground-based, explode with a splash effect around whatever they strike. In other words, they will inflict the listed amount of damage to their target as well as everything else in the area they detonate within.

the Tiger Cat
A couple years after the Snow Cats were first put to use by the Joe team, somebody figured out that these things were designed tough enough to serve as an all-terrain vehicle, in addition to 'mere' snow duty. As such, the Joes repainted a few of these and put them to use in the desert as their Tiger Cats.
