Flint Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 7d 7c 6x 8b Hand Size: 5 (30) Edge: 3 Known Powers: (none) Equipment: Knife (s): since you never know when you'll need to cut something, Dashiell always carries one of these implements with him on missions. Made from strength 12 metals, this blade can be used to cut through materials of like strength, and allows Dashiell to inflict +2 damage in melee. Semi-Automatic Pistol (a): a backup piece for his shotgun, or whatever else he may be hauling around on a mission, this gun is kept handy 'just in case'. It can be fired to inflict damage per a +4 weapon with a single shot, or damage per a +5 weapon in a clip-burning, semi-auto spread. Shotgun (a): his personal favorite firearm, Dashiell used this weapon for several years while active on the G.I. Joe team - at least, until he had to carry other gear in the field. This gun can be fired to inflict +5 damage per blast, and can be fired twice before it must be reloaded. Hindrances: (none) Skills: Boxing (s): one talent he learned as a result of his basic training, this skill represents Dashiell's ability to fight without armament - which he prefers. Whenever engaging in melee, Dashiell can divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed attacks, the last of which will occur as a contingent action. Leadership (w): Dashiell is a likeable fellow, being rather friendly and charismatic despite a few of his more... endearing qualities. This, combined with his keen tactical mind, equates to an effective ability to lead others. When others follow his orders, they should receive a +1 to all their actions. Marksmanship (a): another talent that Dashiell mastered during his Army basic training, this skill describes his ability to use most any firearms in combat. Whether it be a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even his trademark shotgun, Dashiell can use a gun at a reduced difficulty level. Military / United States (w): the source of most all his skills, this talent serves mostly as a background piece for the man. Nonetheless, Dashiell has learned all military protocols and procedures like the back of his hand, and is highly proficient in military maneuvers and tactics. Piloting (a): for his second military specialty, Dashiell has been trained in the fine art of helicopter piloting - while he can't really handle a fixed-wing aircraft, per se, the man's a demon at the stick of most any helicopter. When flying such aircraft, Dashiell makes any control action at a reduced difficulty level. Survival (w): Dashiell is a fully qualified Airborne Ranger and H.A.L.O. jumper, and has been trained how to get by in virtually any environment on earth. While he specialized in desert climates later in his military career, Dashiell can find enough food, water, and shelter to survive most anywhere on earth. Calling: Adventurer: while he does believe in doing his duty for his country, protecting his fellow Americans from whatever foreign-natured harm which may befall them, it is the simple truth that Dashiell joined the Army in order to get away from his boring, academic life - and to lead a life full of adventure. Costume: Dashiell's first field uniform upon joining the G.I. Joe team was a simple affair. It consists of a green pair of trousers with a brown camo pattern dyed on, a black short-sleeved, collared shirt, black leather boots, brown gloves, a brown leather belt, green webbing to hold his shotgun shells, and a black beret. Personality: Dashiell joined the Army because he was bored with the academic life - he's always up for some adventure or another. The man is bombastic, brash, and arrogant as all-get-out, but these are endearing qualities in those that know him, for he's also likeable, charismatic, and a real stand-up kind of guy Real Name: Dashiell R. Fairborne, grade WO-2 Occupation: warrant officer, helicopter pilot, desert specialist Legal Status: citizen of the United States with no known criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: G.I. Joe Height: 6' Hair: black Eyes: brown Weight: 180 lbs. Other Distinguishing Characteristics: none Story: While most folks find it hard to believe after working with the man, Dashiell actually started out his life as an English Literature major, getting his degree as a Rhodes scholar. However, he quickly grew bored with the 'Groves of Academe', and in order to inject some adventure into his life, he enlisted. His scholastic diligence helped him push his way through Airborne School, Ranger School, Special Forces School, and even Flight Warrant Officers School, all of which he passed with flying colors. Being so skilled at what he does, Dashiell wound up drafting and leading numerous rescue operations. For security reasons, however, the details of these missions, including who he rescued and who he rescued them from, have yet to be revealed. However, it is believed that it was during one (or several) such missions that Dashiell met and impressed upon the G.I. Joe team's Duke just how good he was. Not that Duke was on the Joe team at that time, mind you. As soon as he was in a position to recommend new recruits for the anti-terrorist strike force, however, Duke convinced Dashiell to hook up with the team, and he's proven time and time again that he's more than qualified for membership. It's hard to see that at first, of course, because Dashiell's something of a braggart, and definitely a loud mouth. He demonstrated this quite well on his first G.I. Joe mission, which saw him brawling it up with Tomax and Xamot, the leaders of Cobra's Crimson Guard, on top of a roller coaster! His swaggering bravado tends to put folks off at first, at least until they see that he's really rather likeable when you get down to it - and very, very good at what he does. One such person that it took a bit longer to come around to his odd charms is the one and only Lady Jaye, who Dashiell immediately took a liking to. After he risked his life to save the Joes from a surprise Cobra ambush on the Pit (once they figured out its location), she warmed up to the man's advances, and the duo then began a sort of on-again, off-again romance. This was bolstered by the fact that they tend to end up working together on missions. They did so during most of the Joe team's major operations, including the Cobra Island Civil War, an extended mission in the small nation of Sierra Gordo, and the infamous Battle of Benzheen, where many Joes lost their lives. But then, that's because their skills do complement each other nicely. This changed for a time when Dashiell was chosen to lead the so-called Eco-Warriors, environmentally friendly Joes who were pulled together to combat the threat that the madman known as Cesspool posed to the world, thanks to his Plasmatox (TM) process, which created weapons-grade sludge. The Joes had a hard time dealing with the man, though, for in fighting him and destroying his equipment, they would simply release more of his pollutants into the environment. They ultimately quashed the man's threat by siccing a series of prosecutors on him, who seized his assets - thus ruining his business. All good things come to an end, however, and late in 1994 the government deactivated the G.I. Joe team, leaving the fight against Cobra to conventional military forces. As such, Dashiell was relieved from his job as the Joes' executive officer, though what path his military career took since then has yet to be revealed. While Lady Jaye went into semi-retirement for a time, Dashiell continued on in the military, and the two eventually got married. Dashiell became sort of famous after the Joe team's activities were partially declassified, and he even wrote a book about his experiences - though it apparently didn't sell too well. When the G.I. Joe team was reassembled a few years later, Dashiell and Lady Jaye were among the first to rejoin the team. They stuck with the group through both good times and bad, until Cobra was apparently dismantled a second time. When following up on loose ends from Cobra's fall, however, things got ugly. While investigating the existence of another terrorist organization, the Red Shadows, Lady Jaye was killed by one of that group's operatives - while saving Dashiell's life, in fact. Naturally this has had a terrible effect on Dashiell, and he hasn't dealt with his grief very well. After the Red Shadows were defeated, he was chosen to work on the third incarnation of the G.I. Joe team, though his service with the group has been... troubled. Though most of the team feels his pain, he's nonetheless become reckless and blinded with rage towards the terrorists the team face on a regular basis. How he will ultimately resolve these issues has yet to be revealed...
