Known Powers:
Total Recall: natural psionic gift or incredibly rare mutation? The world may never know, and the truth is it probably doesn't matter. But the simple fact is that John-Edward tends to remember anything he experiences. Wielding this power at intensity 15, he can recall just about any event in his life with ease.
Equipment:
Helmet: as do most of his fellow Sky Patrol teammates, John-Edward always wears a helmet while on the job. This helmet provides him his Strength +2 from physical attacks that strike him in the head, and if his visor is in the 'down' position it also provides him like protected senses where his vision is concerned.
Knife: all paratroopers carry one of these implements on their person - it's vital to have a sharp object handy in the event that you need to cut your straps loose upon landing. Made from m.s. 12 materials, this blade can be used to cut through items of like m.s., or to inflict his Strength +2 damage in melee.
Missile Launcher: in addition to his pistol, John carries a small, one-shot missile launcher with him; sometimes his recon will result in a target that must be acted on immediately... and intensely. This missile can hit anything within John-Edward's line of sight, inflicting intensity 10 physical damage to its target.
Parachute: naturally useful when leaping out of an airplane (whether it's going to crash or just making a mid-air drop), John-Edward obviously needs one of these when doing the whole paratrooper thing. This item allows him to exit a flying vehicle from extreme heights and easily land on the ground without flattening himself.
Semi-Automatic Pistol: since his primary job function is recon, John-Edward usually doesn't have to unload a lot on missions; in fact, he's done his job perfectly when he doesn't have to shoot at all. But when necessary, he can fire this weapon to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, +5 in a short burst.
Hindrances:
(none)
Skills:
Artillery: supplementing his basic talent with firearms, this skill describes John-Edward's ability to wield heavier ordnance. When utilizing line of sight weaponry such as missile launchers and massive-caliber cannons, John-Edward may do so at one difficulty level lower than is usually necessary.
Artist: formerly working in the syndicated cartoon industry, and a voracious sketch artist, John-Edward naturally has this skill. Combined with his total recall ability, this skill allows him to produce truly life-like renditions of things he has seen in the past. And is a good way to make extra cash on the side...
Boxing: a part of his Army training, this skill notes John-Edward's ability to fight even should he find himself completely without weapons. In melee combat of any stripe, John-Edward may divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed strikes, the last of which occurs as a contingent action.
Marksmanship: another facet of his Army basic, this skill describes John-Edward's ability to fire almost any conventional firearm, regardless of its national origin. Whether he's wielding a standard, semi-automatic or fully automatic rifle or pistol, John-Edward may do so at one difficulty level lower than is normally required.
Military / United States: a handy explanation for his non-artist skills, this talent serves as an origin of sorts for John-Edward. In addition to providing him an inherent understanding of military policy (the S.O.P.), this skill lets John-Edward lead fighting men into battle when necessary.
Calling:
Soldier: John-Edward has always had something to prove - if only to himself. Since he was a child he has felt the need to demonstrate his own personal worth, doing so by being the best he could be at whatever he was doing at the time. This urge motivated him in his animation career, and does so again with his career in the Army.
Costume:
When on duty, John-Edward is almost always in his normal G.I. Joe uniform. It includes a dark green and gold jacket with dark red sleeves, dark green trousers with brown and dark red, hip-high boots, brown leather gloves, a brown leather belt with a gold belt buckle, a brown holster, and his silver helmet (with gold visor attached).
Personality:
John-Edward is a true stickler for detail. Whether he's doing a sketch for a friend or artistically detailing the layout of a hidden Cobra installation, he pushes himself to produce the exact image that's lodged in his head at the time. This tends to make his work incredibly time consuming... but always worth the wait!

Story:
The son of a well-known Hollywood stunt man and a full-blooded Apache, John-Edward always felt that he had a lot to live up to in life. At the same time he always enjoyed artwork, and being gifted with an uncanny ability to recall everything he'd seen helped him to produce truly spectacular imagery when he was so inclined.
With all this in mind, John-Edward decided to pursue a career in art, and wound up getting into animation. His career was taking off fast, but stalled unexpectedly when the syndicated animation programming industry crashed out. Wanting a reliable paycheck after this, and understandably so, John-Edward enlisted in the Army.
Taking advantage of his keen eye and incredible recall, the Army put John-Edward to work as a recon patrolman, though since he'd already demonstrated skill as such, he doubled up as a combat artist. May as well use what you've got, after all. As one can guess, John-Edward truly excelled in this curious line of work.
Seeing reports of his amazing ability over the years, not to mentinon samples of his 'reports', the powers that be gave John-Edward a shot at joining the G.I. Joe team. Never one to let an opportunity like that slide, John-Edward signed up for the G.I. Joe 'audition', and as he always has in life, he gave it 110%.
Once he was on the team, John-Edward was rapidly snatched up by Skydive, who was forming an elite paratrooper squad to counter the Cobra Python Patrol. This Sky Patrol, then, would be wielding older vehicles retro-fitted with an experimental, chromium-based stealth technology built to stymie Cobra radar systems.
John-Edward basically had the same job with the Sky Patrol that he performed in the 'regular' Army - he'd get dropped by airplane into some godforsaken hole and get to work... memorizing everything he saw. Of course this time he was gathering intelligence on Cobra bases - layouts, vehicle complements, troop assignments, all of that.
After that, John-Edward simply returned to base (usually the hard way, on foot) and proceeded to sketch out everything he'd seen. His drawings are so precise, the Sky Patrol used them to plan missions as they tended to be more reliable than even the most recent intelligence gathered by satellite or other overhead surveillance.
John-Edward continued to serve in this capacity until the G.I. Joe team was disbanded in '94. It is not known just what he did with himself after the Joes were deactivated, for he had a long career in both animation and the Army (you don't get to the rank of Sergeant Major of the Army overnight, you know).
However, it's a cinch that, should the G.I. Joe team need the services of Altitude again, he'd be more than happy to rejoin!
