Equipment:

Helmet:
as do most of his fellow Sky Patrol teammates, Samuel always wears a helmet while on the job. This helmet provides him his Strength +2 protection from physical attacks that strike him in the head, and if his visor is in the 'down' position it also provides him like protected senses where his vision is concerned.

Knife: all paratroopers carry one of these implements on their person - it's vital to have a sharp object handy in the event that you need to cut your straps loose upon landing. Made from m.s. 12 materials, this blade can be used to cut through items of like m.s., or to inflict Samuel's Strength +2 damage in melee.

Parachute: naturally useful when leaping out of an airplane (whether it's going to crash or just making a mid-air drop), Samuel obviously needs one of these when doing the whole paratrooper thing. This item allows him to exit a flying vehicle from extreme heights and easily land on the ground without flattening himself.

Semi-Automatic Pistol: a backup for his massive, chest-mounted cannon, Samuel carries this weapon - holstered under his primary implement - in the event of an emergency. He can fire this weapon to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, or his Agility +5 damage in a semi-auto burst of lead.

Twinned Machine Gun: this dual barrel machine gun, strapped onto Samuel's chest with a heavy duty harness, allows him to inflict staggering amounts of damage. He can fire this twin-barrel machine gun to inflict his Agility +6 damage in a short burst, or his Agility +7 damage in a full-auto spread.

Hindrances:

(none)

Skills:

Boxing:
a portion of his Army basic training, this skill describes Samuel's potential to continue fighting even when he lacks a weapon in hand - or anywhere else for that matter. He has the ability to divide his pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the last of which will occur as a contingent action.

Marksmanship: since he carries more sustainable firepower than his fellows in the Sky Patrol, it's a sure thing that Samuel keeps his basic military weapons training in tip top shape. He can fire just about any rifle or pistol, whether it be standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic at one difficulty level lower than is usually needed.

Military / United States: the source of all Samuel's talents, this skill represents his true calling. Samuel lives and breathes the military life, and the S.O.P. is his favorite reading material. His time in the Army has also given Samuel the ability to lead fighting men into battle - which he has done on several occasions.

Calling:

Soldier:
Be All You Can Be. An Army Of One. Insert whichever marketing slogan you like, it applies to Samuel. The man loves his career in the military, and has truly made a way of life out of it. He adores the smell of gun oil, anything in olive drab, and pushing himself to the absolute limits of his ability on a mission.

Costume:

When on duty with the Joes, Samuel wears a curious uniform. It includes a gray and light brown leather jacket, light brown trousers with dark brown leather pants, hip-high, gray and dark brown leather boots, a brown leather belt, dark brown leather gloves, and a gray steel helmet with a brown-tinted, mirrored visor.

Personality:

Samuel is a true G.I. Joe dog-face. He firmly believes that duty and honor have a place in today's seemingly insane society, and views renegades and terrorists like Cobra with the utmost of disdain. But then he is in love with the military lifestyle, and still wonders how he lucked into such a 'fun' career choice!

Story:

More than a few of the Joes have made a career in the military, but Samuel is truly an Army man. This guy fell in love with the Life the very first day he arrived at basic, and he eats, drinks and breathes the Standard Operating Procedure. Just about all of his 'civvies' are olive drab - unless he's wearing camo pants, that is.

Samuel is like a kid in a candy store every time he receives a new assignment. He's still trying to figure out how he actually gets paid to do the work he does - where else can you make money jumping out of airplanes with a knife between your teeth? Much less get to work with heavy artillery shells sailing overhead? Music to his ears!

Of course Samuel isn't out of his mind - even if he at first seems like it. He just enjoys the fact that he's having fun while helping to protect his country at the same time. Samuel's also a very ethical sort, and feels that duty and honor still have a place in modern society, no matter what people on the television tell you.

His seemingly manic pursuit of success on missions - truly being the best he can be, both for himself and those that have trusted him with their protection - has served Samuel well in his career. A highly ranked (and liked) Army sergeant, Samuel's continual good performance ultimately earned him a position on the G.I. Joe team.

Soon after surviving the grueling entrance exam, Samuel was snatched up by Skydive for membership in the newly forming Sky Patrol team. This group of paratroopers, wielding modified G.I. Joe (and captured Cobra) vehicles, works to counter the various sabotage and espionage operations run by Cobra's nefarious Python Patrol.

What with both wielding radar stealth technology of similar strength (if diametrically opposed design). The entirety of Samuel's operations with the Sky Patrol team have been highly classified, to the point that aside from their general nature, these 'Special Missions' have yet to be revealed - even to the regular G.I. Joe team.

However, Samuel remained with the G.I. Joe team until it was deactivated (for the first time) in 1994. It's almost certain that he returned to a conventional Army post at that time, and remains there until this very day. The man loves the Army life after all, and wouldn't let a little down time get in the way of that!
