Equipment:

Comm Suite:
Thomas always carries a communications suite with him on missions, in order to call in medical evacuations of wounded personnel. These systems, usually consisting of a backpack with a helmet-mounted mouthpiece, work with intensity 5 power (100 mile range).

First-Aid Kit: his stock in trade, Thomas always carries a first aid kit with him on missions. His first aid gear consists of various medicines, antibiotics, drugs, sterilized medical tools, and even a small oxygen tank. He carries additional first aid gear in various pouches and such, as well.

Flashlight: Thomas carries one of these with him in the field, usually mounted on his sled so he has both hands free for other purposes. He can use this oversized lamp to produce intensity 7 illumination in a given area, allowing him to pierce the night and find wounded soldiers with ease.

Gravity Sled: this odd device is useful for delivering wounded personnel from the field of fire in a jiffy; sure, Thomas is strong enough to carry the wounded all by himself, but this allows him to maximize his effectiveness. It can hover along at intensity 2 speeds (60 m.p.h.).

Grenade Pistol: curiously, Thomas carries a small, auto-feed grenade launcher with him on missions. It is most likely that this gun holds non-lethal rounds within, such as stun grenades or even emergency flares; either way, these rounds work with intensity 10 effectiveness.

Knife: since you never know when you'll need to cut through something on a mission, Thomas always carries one of these blades with him on the job. Made from strength 12 metals, this tool can be used to cut through items of like m.s., and allows Thomas to inflict +2 damage in melee.

Semi-Automatic Pistol: Thomas carries this weapon in a chest-mounted holster in the event that he must defend himself. This weapon can be fired to inflict damage per a +4 weapon with a single shot, or damage per a +5 weapon in a high-speed burst of ammunition.

Hindrances:

(none)

Skills:

Boxing:
a skill he most likely picked up during his Army basic training, this talent represents Thomas' ability to defend himself unarmed, should he need to. In unarmed melee, Thomas can divide his pre-cardplay action score between two attacks, the last of which will occur as a contingent action.

First Aid: Thomas has been a field medic for many years. When treating a dying person, he can make use of a limited form of the Medicine skill, allowing him to restore one card worth of lost Health to a body who was k.o.'d in the last exchange with an average difficulty Intellect action.

Marksmanship: when he enlisted in the Army, Thomas was trained in the use of most modern firearms. Whether he's carrying a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even an oddball gun like his hand-held grenade launcher, Thomas may use said gun at a reduced difficulty level.

Military / United States: though he didn't begin his adult career with the military in mind, Thomas eventually joined up in order to do his duty - and for various other reasons. As such, he knows military protocols and procedures like the back of his hand, and can lead fighting men into battle if he must.

Calling:

Soldier,
with a secondary calling of Protector: being a field medic, it goes without saying that Thomas is there to protect those who are too broken to protect themselves effectively. However, he didn't join the Army solely to help others; most of his motivation comes from a need for self-validation.

Costume:

In the field, Thomas wears a dark gray pair of trousers, a dark gray pair of leather boots with green ankle guards, a blue turtleneck sweater under a light gray jacket, dark gray gloves, a gray cap, a green leather belt, and green webbing and pouches to hold various gear.

Personality:

Thomas is a strong guy, in more than just a physical sense. He's had years to grow accustomed to battle-field conditions, and is very good at pulling the wounded out of them. Of course, he hasn't let this dampen his spirit at all; Thomas still has his rather lively sense of humor about him...

Story:

Thomas didn't start out with a military career in mind, at least not to begin with. Formerly an Olympic weight lifter, the man found that he needed a good paying job after he was done with the free ride that said competition offered. To this end, he decided to lend his considerable strength to the Army.

After completing his basic training, it became apparent that Thomas' energies would be best spent as a field medic, and this is exactly what he went about doing. He became very proficient in emergency medical procedures, and excelled in the evacuation of wounded military personnel.

Thomas was so good that he was assigned to one of N.A.T.O.'s roughest units, and continually demonstrated an ability to keep his cool - he even managed to crack wise in the midst of particularly hairy action. His outstanding performance landed him a position on the G.I. Joe team soon enough.

His very first mission saw him joining Hot Seat and Wild Bill in a rescue / support capacity when several G.I. Joe and Oktober Guard operatives were pinned down in the Sierra Gordo wilds by Darklon and his minions. Ultimately, this aid saved their allies, and allowed Thomas to prove his mettle to his teammates.

Thomas continued to lend his considerable talents to the G.I. Joe team on various missions, doing so until the team was ultimately disbanded several years after he joined. Of course, with the team being active once again, Thomas would undoubtedly rejoin the Joes should they only ask!
