Network F A S E R I P Res Pop Ex 20 Gd 10 Gd 10 Ex 20 Ex 20 In 40 In 40 Ex 20 Ty -5 Health: 60 Karma: 100 Origin: Wayne is a paranormal, a sort of altered human who gained his powers during the White Event, an incident that set the New Universe apart from standard reality. His powers are psionic in nature, and incredibly versatile due to extensive use. Known Powers: Natural Psi Powers (Psipathic): Telepathy (a): Wayne has developed into a very powerful telepath, one of the most potent on the earth, in fact. He can achieve mind to mind communication at Amazing (50) rank, whether he's sending or receiving information. ESP (t): Wayne can eavesdrop on the thoughts of others with Incredible (40) ability. Targets are only allowed a FEAT to resist if they think Wayne - or someone else - is spying on their mind... and most of the time, why would they? Messenger (s): Wayne also has the power to send one-way telepathic messages to people with Unearthly (100) ability, allowing them to be sent to people up to 10,000 miles distant, giving him an effective global range with this psipathic skill. Mind Control 2 (a): Wayne can use this power on several people at once; usually up to eight people at a time, at the least. He can do so with Remarkable (30) ability. This tends to wear him out however, and Wayne will usually get a bad headache from attempting this. Mind Control 1 (t): Wayne usually uses this lesser form of mental control, as he can concentrate on one person at a time much easier, doing so at Incredible (40) rank. Naturally, this is easier on him than his 'group' mind control ability. Super Hypnosis (s): Wayne can put people in a trance, and pre-program future actions and suggestions into their minds, with Incredible (40) skill. This functions above and beyond the standard hypnosis talent, but people can attempt to resist it the same way. Invisibility 2 (a): Network can make people mentally ignore himself and up to eight others. He can affect any number of people, at Remarkable (30) rank. This tends to wear him out however, and Wayne will usually get a bad headache from attempting this. Invisibility 1 (t): Wayne can instead make only one person mentally bypass his presence, doing so at a much more effective rank (namely, Incredible (40)). Naturally, this is easier on him than his 'group' invisibility, and he usually just uses this talent for his own benefit. Charismatic Aura (s): Wayne can be highly persuasive when he wants to be, and this power makes his effective Psc (pre) +4 CS for the purpose of influencing NPC reactions - they find themselves going above and beyond to get on his good side. Mindwipe (a): Network has the ability to erase the memories of others, though he mostly does this to make people forget he (or any of his various teammates) was ever somewhere. He can wield this psipathic art with Remarkable (30) ability. Languages (t): Wayne has learned how to 'absorb' languages from other people, simply by talking to them for a short time. He can do so at Excellent (20) rank. He seems to hang onto these languages after learning them in this fashion. Sensory Confusion (s): Wayne can make people's senses betray them, an act that causes them to make all action FEAT rolls at a -2 CS, if they fail a Psc (will) FEAT roll against this power rank (which is Remarkable (30)). Psychic Probe (a): Network can look for specific memories or images in the minds of other people, though they're more than aware of his doing so; this power tends to cause considerable discomfort to its target. He can attempt this at Remarkable (30) ability. Natural Psi Powers (superpsi) Macrosense (a): after the death of the Psi-Hawk, Wayne's mind made a staggering leap in power, and he now has access to everything that anyone alive knows. He can make use of this staggering knowledge with Incredible (40) ability. Psionic Blast (t): Wayne can use this power to inflict Incredible (40) rank Karmic damage to everyone in one cubic area. Alternately, Wayne can narrow his focus and unleash this power on a single target if he wants, but does so at a -1 CS to damage. Trained Psi Powers (superpsi): Gestalt (a): Wayne, like the other five original members of Psi-Force, can initiate a psychic gestalt. This power will produce the Psi-Hawk, a psionic being that can wield the powers of those that formed it, and can do so with staggering ability. Equipment: Cybernetic Switchblades: these items were swiped from Spitfire 2, an armored C.I.A. operative, shortly after Psi-Force and the Medusa Web cleaned his clock. They're of Remarkable (30) m.s., and can open and close on Wayne's mental command. Quirks: Loner: Wayne used to be a loner, hating everybody and hating being around them even more. He's changed, and this quirk used to be at level 2 or even 3 in strength. Either way, he still has a minor tendency to go it alone, and must resist this urge at his Psc -1 CS. Temper: Wayne is also quite a hothead. However, he used to have a chip on his shoulder a mile wide, and this quirk used to be level 2 or even 3 in its effect. He must pass a Psc FEAT at -1 CS to cool it if something gets him all riled up. Talents: Computers: one skill that Wayne picked up from the Medusa Web is an inherent understanding of computer systems, and he can operate and program such devices as though his Rsn were +1 CS higher than is listed above. Detective / Espionage: another skill Wayne gained through Medusa Web training is basic surveillance principles, being able to keep tabs on a target as if his Intuition were +1 CS higher - even if he lacks access to his telepathy! Guns: the Medusa Web has trained Network extensively in combat action, part of which included the use of guns, both regular and automatic. He is unskilled in advanced gun use (laser guns, etc...). He may use most conventional firearms at his Agy +1 CS. Leadership: Wayne was always a persuasive guy, even before he developed his vast telepathic powers. He can effectively coordinate just about any group, no matter how rowdy they are, and adds 50 'bonus' Karma points to any pool he is in charge of. Lock Picking: Wayne is skilled in the art of breaking into things. He can mostly break into cars and such, but can also make a reasonable attempt to open other locked things. He should receive a +1 CS on any FEAT roll that applies while doing so. Martial Arts types A, B, and E: Wayne is good in a fight these days - even more so than he used to be. He gains a +1 to initiative in unarmed melee, a +1 CS to unarmed attacks, and may Slam or Stun a foe regardless of comparative Str or End scores. Military: thanks to the Medusa Web, Wayne has received basic military training, in that he's competent at understanding military protocol, orders, and plans. This allows him to seamlessly function in a fighting group should the need arise. Weapon / Knives: Wayne can effectively use knives in combat, having learned how to as a youth, and then being trained by the Medusa Web in their use. When wielding any short blade, Wayne may do so at his Ftg score +1 CS. Contacts: As the leader of Psi-Force, Wayne can probably rely on any team member for whatever help he could need. The Medusa Web should also be considered a reliable contact, as they went to great lengths to recruit the Psi-Force, and would not like to lose them. Eugene Proudhawk, Emmett Proudhawk's brother, would also help Wayne if he were to ask for it. Costume: While active with Psi-Force, Wayne usually didn't wear a specific uniform to speak of, but has flirted with such designs in the past. His ideal 'action look' would include black pants, a black leather jacket with a stylized red hawk head on front and a spiky right shoulder pad, and gray gloves. Personality: Wayne used to be a very angry youth, thanks to the physical abuses of his father. Wayne eventually grew to like the members of Psi-Force, however, and truly became a team player over time, especially after meeting (and eventually marrying) Lindsey Falmon (Overtime). Real Name: Wayne Tucker Occupation: vigilante, former student, former gang member Legal Status: U.S. citizen wanted by most authorities Marital Status: married Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: Psi-Force, the Medusa Web Height: 5' 8" Hair: brown Eyes: brown Weight: 145 lbs. Other Distinguishing Characteristics: scar on right side of face, 1.5" under his eye Story: Wayne Tucker came from a damaged family; his mother died six years ago, and his father beat him ever since. To get back at his policeman dad, Wayne became the leader of a Chicago street gang, until one fateful night. The night of the White Event. After another fight with his father, Wayne felt compelled to leave home and head west (no thanks to Emmett Proudhawk's manipulations). Once there, he met up with the rest of Psi-Force, but didn't like them or Emmett's ideas for a team very much. However, Proudhawk taught him and the rest of the psionic youths how to combine their psychic essences into a singular being, which they did to avenge his death soon after. After trying to leave the group several times, Wayne eventually decided to stick with them. The group stayed together for a time, until the Russian paranormal known as Rodstvow destroyed Psi-Force's home. Scarred and wounded in the explosion, Wayne fled to Seattle, only to be followed by the EM form of Tyrone Jessup, whose body was severely burned in the incident. There, they met up with Lindsey Falmon, who Wayne got involved with... a lot. The two became inseparable after several encounters with the Medusa Web, an organization that first tried to capture them for the U.S. government, and then tried to recruit them into their own organization after saving them from the armored C.I.A. operative known as Spitfire. Soon after, Wayne, Tyrone, and Lindsey found out that the rest of Psi-Force had been captured by the government, and went to the east coast to save 'em. They broke out Boyd first, and then the others, though tragedy struck afterwards. After freeing Anastasia and Kathy from a military hospital, Psi-Force was gunned down by the army, and Anastasia died while healing the damage caused by a rain of bullets. The team then ran afoul of Rodstvow again, and was forced to form the Psi-Hawk to fight this homicidal terror. Rodstvow and Psi-Hawk then did battle over Washington D.C., and the resulting battle utterly devastated the city. In the end, Psi-Hawk lost his fight with the Russian paranormal, who quickly destroyed him and most American monuments and historical artifacts of note (like the Constitution). The Psi-Force woke up in the Siberian Project, taken there by Rodstvow, and stayed there until rescued by the Medusa Web. The mercenaries, who were joined by Justice, teamed up with Psi-Force and Red Sun (a Russian group of paranormals) to defeat Rodstvow once and for all. The group then made for France, and joined up with the Medusa Web on a contract basis, performing various helpful jobs for the subversive organization. Wayne eventually married Lindsey, and the group apparently survived the War (at the 'end' of the New Universe line).
