Natural Psi-Powers:
Telekinesis: her trademark power, Kathy can use this ability at intensity 15. She can lift over fifty tons of matter with her telekinesis, and can use thrown objects to inflict her full power score in damage to any unwitting targets that get in her way. As of her last appearance, Kathy had demonstrated this wide range of power stunts:
* Concussive Strike: one of Kathy's meaner tricks involves focusing her telekinetic power through her fist (or feet, or any other likely body part), in order to strike in melee to inflict a massive, intensity 15 tk attack upon an opponent. This typically catches her foes off-guard, as she doesn't look strong enough to inflict so much damage (the first time, at least).
* Concussive Wave: if desperate, Kathy can push her telekinetic power in order to nail everybody within firing distance with a powerful telekinetic wave of force. This inflicts intensity 15 damage upon everybody within her range (including herself), and after she uses this ability she cannot access her tk powers again until she has regained a full hand of cards.
* Force Bolt: her secondary attack capability, this power stunt allows Kathy to fire an invisible blast of telekinetic force at any one person within firing range. This force bolt is an intensity 15 attack, and inflicts like damage against Kathy's opponents, unless she pulls her punch (in order to avoid killing said target...).
* Force Field: Kathy can create a potent force bubble around herself, in order to gain herself intensity 15 defense against attack. So far, this has only been demonstrated as a personal force field, though anybody standing behind Kathy could theoretically benefit from this defense (unless the attack used against it just slides around the field...).
* Force Flight: Kathy, while under constant pursuit by the Medusa Web, developed the ability to fly. She can levitate herself around, in three dimensions, in order to fly at intensity 5 speeds (about 100 miles per hour, give or take). Her maximum possible speed is likely much higher, but this is as fast as she's been known to move so far.
* Object Swarm: Kathy can launch a surprise attack against any opponents within firing range by pummeling them with all available loose objects in the vicinity, inflicting a total of intensity 15 damage against each person. This is an average difficulty action against one person, or a challenging difficulty action against multiple targets (opposed by the targets' agility scores).
* Passengers: while flying, Kathy can decrease her speed to intensity 1 flight (around fifteen miles per hour), in order to pick up some passengers. She can carry up to fifteen people in this manner, which (while slow) is useful for scaling large vertical surfaces, or crossing difficult physical barriers (like a river or busy interstate, for example).
Trained Psi-Powers:
Gestalt: Kathy, along with the rest of the original members of Psi-Force, was taught how to create a powerful being by combining her psychic essence with that of several other psionic individuals; she could do this at intensity 5. Once this power was initiated, the Psi-Hawk would manifest over the bodies of the concentrating psis, using their combined powers and knowledge.
Kathy had this power stunt with the Gestalt power:
* Mind Shift: originally, the Psi-Hawk was portrayed as some sort of spectral, other-worldly entity. However, it was revealed that the Hawk was simply an amalgamation of the minds that concentrated upon bringing it into existence. Though all of the people that formed it controlled it at once, one person could take charge if they needed to. See the specific Psi-Hawk entry for more information on this.
Hindrances:
(none)
Skills:
Computers: though she generally hates the mayhem and violence associated with the Medusa Web, they have trained Kathy how to use and program computers, a useful skill, to be sure. She makes actions involving computers at one difficulty level lower than is normally required.
Espionage: another talent the Medusa Web imparted upon Kathy is the ability to effectively perform surveillance missions. She can also operate 'spy' equipment, and can easily determine whether or not she is being followed.
Marksmanship: originally, Kathy wouldn't even touch guns. Once the Medusa Web got through with her, however, she could effectively utilize any guns in combat, as long as they are hand-held; if it's got a trigger, she can use it with competence.
Military: the final skill that Kathy picked up from the Medusa Web is a general understanding of military protocols and tactical thinking. Of course, she rarely makes use of this skill, preferring to do things her own way, regardless of the situation...
Calling:
Responsibility of Power: Kathy hates having powers. She always has and always will. However, after practically refusing to use them for over a year, Kathy finally got used to the idea, and though she'd prefer to be 'normal', she now doesn't mind using them to fight for what she believes in.
Costume:
Black pants, black leather jacket with stylized red hawk head on front, and gray gloves.
Personality:
Kathy used to be a snotty little rich kid, who was 'totally' grossed out by her newfound powers. After years of being chased by various agencies out to use her and her powers, Kathy has changed, growing to like her powers somewhat, and enjoys using them to get back at those that would harm her or her friends.

Story:
Kathy Ling was your stereotypical spoiled rich kid until she developed her telekinetic powers. Soon after this happened, she felt compelled to run away from home, making for San Francisco to meet up with several other runaway paranormals.
These teens were collected by Emmett Proudhawk, who had been keeping an eye on them, since they all scored rather good on their ESP tests in high school. Of course, soon after collecting these youths, Emmett was slain by the Russian psi known as Mindwolf.
Before his death, Emmett had shown the teens how to combine their psychic essences into a being more powerful than themselves, and they soon did so to defeat their Russian pursuers. The teens, dubbed Psi-Force by Emmett's own files on them, decided to stick together over time.
They did so until their Sanctuary was destroyed by the Russian paranormal known as Rodstvow. When this happened, the group split up, and Ling joined Anastasia and Thomas in their flight. Of course, the group was eventually targeted by the Medusa Web.
These international bounty hunters tracked the kids down in a suburban mall, and proceeded to blow the place up in their hunt for them. Kathy sustained serious gunshot wounds thanks to the Egyptian mercenary known as Potiphar, and was carted off to a military hospital.
She was eventually rescued by the rest of Psi-Force, but was gunned down with the rest of the team by the army soon after. Anastasia, the team's healer, died trying to save Kathy and the others from their grievous wounds, but she was successful.
Enraged, the team got ready to get even with somebody, when Rodstvow again appeared to attack them. This time, they formed the Psi-Hawk, and fought the Russian paranormal over the streets of Washington D.C., pretty much totalling the city in the process.
The kids ultimately lost this fight, however, and Rodstvow destroyed the Psi-Hawk (apparently, anyway). The villain then collected the team and made for Russia, dumping them in the Siberian Project, a Russian place built to study paranormal powers.
Kathy and the others stayed for a time, recovering from their shock, and waiting for the right time to escape. This happened when the Medusa Web arrived to spring the team of psionic youths. Of course, they also had to deal with Rodstvow, again, since he lived there...
Combining forces with the Medusa Web, Red Sun (Russian paranormals), and Justice, Psi-Force managed to finally defeat their ultra-powerful foe. The youths then journeyed to France with the Medusa Web, and ultimately joined up with the larger group of paranormals.
Of course, Kathy didn't hook up with them right away, as she wanted to take time away from all the fighting the group had been involved with lately. She eventually returned to the group after a little while, and she got most of the same training the Medusa Web gives it's various members.
