M.A.X. Armor, Mark 2 The Mark 2 M.A.X. armor is a significant improvement over the original prototype M.A.X. suit, the Mark 1, built by Doctor Karl Swensen shortly before his death at the hands of Fritz Krotze's armored flunky. Most of its systems have been upgraded to work about twice as good. The suit ultimately ended up in Jenny Swensen's (Karl's daughter's) hands. She used it to generally right wrongs, and to battle Krotze and his Club superiors, until it was pretty much smashed by Steel Hawk and Star Brand (in two seperate encounters). Of course, Jenny used her knowledge about the Mark 1 and Mark 2 suits to build a brand new suit, the Mark 3 M.A.X. armor, for the U.S. Government... At any rate, the Mark 2 M.A.X. Armor (i) was armed with the following capabilities: Ability Boost: the Mark 2 M.A.X. armor enhances the strength of its pilot at intensity 8, up to a maximum value of 13. Furthermore, it can also boost the agility of the pilot as well, at intensity 4, for a maximum enhanced agility score of 9. Absorption: the Mark 2 M.A.X. armor can absorb electrical energies at intensity 12. It can either use this purloined energy as a secondary backup power source, or wield it as an electrical attack through the armor's gauntlets (at the same intensity). Backup Power: the Mark 2 M.A.X. suit is equipped with at least one reserve supply of power, in the event that its main power is lost somehow. This is especially necessary considering where the suit was meant to be used. Body Armor: as a suit of armor, the Mark 2 M.A.X. suit provides its pilot intensity 11 defense against harm. This defense replaces the pilot's standard protection against harm (unless, of course, his is higher than that provided by the M.A.X. suit). Buzz-Saw: this titanium-forged, teflon-coated buzz saw can be used by the pilot of the Mark 2 M.A.X. armor to cut through things. Lots of things. It is essentially able to cut through materials of up to 18 material strength (anything short of adamantium, really). Clippers: mounted on the left wrist of the Mark 2 M.A.X. armor, these overgrown scissors can be used to cut small items (in the event that the buzz-saw would be overkill). They can cut through items of up to 9 material strength. Comm-Link: the Mark 2 M.A.X. suit can communicate with a control center with significant range; the exact limits of its radio transceiver is unknown, but it can pick up and receive transmissions from hundreds of miles distant. Digging Tool: the Mark 2 M.A.X. suit is equipped with a sort of tunneling device, which lets it bore through any sort of ground or materials (of up to 13 material strength). The tool can dig at a speed of 1 (to make a passable tunnel), or at a speed of 3 (though the tunnel will collapse behind the M.A.X. suit). Electro-Magnetic Clamp: this device can be fired at a target, and if said target is ferrous, it will stick to the target at intensity 13. The pilot of the M.A.X. armor can then reel it in at his or her leisure, as the rear of the clamp is connected by steel cable to the M.A.X. suit... Flight: moving via turbo-fan thrusters mounted in the feet of the suit, the Mark 2 M.A.X. armor can achieve intensity 6 flight, which rates in at about 150 miles per hour. This flight doesn't produce fiery exhaust, but does whip up a nice breeze... Laser Cannon(s): this add-on tool can be used to cut right through conventional materials, acting against such at intensity 10. Incidentally, it will also inflict like damage to a person should it be wielded against him. Furthermore, Jenny has apparently added a second laser beam emitter to the Mark 2 M.A.X. suit, an emitter housed in the armor's right index finger. This secondary energy weapon is just as powerful as the add-on tool, but much more concealable... Life Support (air): the Mark 2 suit offers its pilot intensity 15 life support, limited to air, in the event that breathable atmosphere should disappear. This supply of air lasts for about two hours, which can come in handy in a pinch. Oil Slick: the Mark 2 M.A.X. suit can emit a spray of simple, black motor oil if necessary. This is exceptionally useful when under attack in an under water situation, as any would-be opponent must pass a challenging difficulty intellect action in order to spot the M.A.X. suit if it is inside the oil slick. Sensor Suite: the Mark 2 M.A.X. armor is equipped with two types of electronic sensory equipment. The first is an infrared / thermal scanning capability, an ability that functions at intensity 10 (five (5) if it isn't currently dark outside the M.A.X. suit). The second sensory capability of the Mark 2 suit is its ability to locate a target within its line of sight, and identify it to the pilot (even if the pilot himself couldn't actually see said target). This visual recognition hardware functions at intensity 8. White Noise Generator: dubiously named, this EMP generator (built by the Troubleshooters' Think-Tank) allows the Mark 2 M.A.X. armor to scramble unshielded electronic systems (or electronic security systems), at intensity 8.
