M.A.X. Armor, Mark 4

The Mark 4 version of the Man-Amplified Experimental (M.A.X.) armor system is a highly specialized, pared-down piece of equipment designed to work in espionage-style missions, where secrecy is important. Unlike the other three suits, the Mark 4 is about human-sized, and isn't armed with a pleithora of destructive and / or useful items.

However, it makes up for this by being extremely maneuverable, and can match the other suits in sheer power. The suit was only used in one story (the last issue of Spitfire), and Jenny continued to use the Mark 3 suit in further missions for the U.S. Government. However, it is assumed that Project: Spitfire retains this suit for other operatives, in case it is needed.

The Mark 4 M.A.X. Armor has the following capabilities:

Ability Boost: the Mark 4 M.A.X. armor enhances the strength of its pilot at intensity 8, up to a maximum value of 13. Furthermore, it can also boost the agility of the pilot as well, at intensity 6, for a maximum enhanced agility score of 11.

Absorption: the Mark 4 M.A.X. armor can absorb electrical energies at intensity 12. It can either use this purloined energy as a secondary backup power source, or wield it as an electrical attack through the armor's gauntlets (at the same intensity).

Backup Power: the Mark 4 M.A.X. suit is equipped with at least one reserve supply of power, in the event that its main power is lost somehow. This is especially necessary considering where the suit was meant to be used.

Body Armor: as a suit of armor, the Mark 4 M.A.X. suit provides its pilot intensity 11 defense against harm. This defense replaces the pilot's standard protection against harm (unless, of course, his is higher than that provided by the M.A.X. suit).

C.P.U.: this powerful onboard computer allows for the automation of several functions of the Mark 4 M.A.X. suit, especially involving the sensor suite. In fact, the pilot of the suit can pretty much make it run searches for him, saving him time to beat things up.

Comm-Link: the Mark 4 M.A.X. suit can communicate with a control center with significant range; the exact limits of its radio transceiver is unknown, but it can pick up and receive transmissions from hundreds of miles distant.

Flight: moving via a jet-pack mounted on the back of the suit, the Mark 4 M.A.X. armor can achieve intensity 7 flight, which rates in at about 225 miles per hour. This flight produces fiery exhaust, but this can't effectively be harnessed in a fight by the pilot...

Laser Cannon: mounted on the back of the Mark 4 M.A.X. suit's wrists, these weapons emit an intensity 13 laser beam that can cut through materials of equal or lesser material strength, or inflict like damage to living tissues.

Life Support (air): the Mark 4 suit offers its pilot intensity 15 life support, limited to air, in the event that breathable atmosphere should disappear. This supply of air lasts for about eight hours, which can come in handy in a pinch.

Sensor Suite: the Mark 4 M.A.X. armor is equipped with four types of electronic sensory equipment. The first is an infrared / thermal scanning capability, an ability that functions at intensity 12 (six (6) if it isn't currently dark outside the M.A.X. suit).

The second sensory capability of the Mark 4 suit is its ability to locate a target within its line of sight, and identify it to the pilot (even if the pilot himself couldn't actually see said target). This visual recognition hardware functions at intensity 10.

The third is a powerful voice-print recognition system. This advanced scanning technology allows the pilot of the Mark 4 M.A.X. suit to track a target, via his voice alone, throughout a fifty mile range (or crowded metropolitan area). This works at intensity 10.

The fourth (and final) sensory package the Mark 4 suit is equipped with is a comprehensive R.A.D.A.R. unit, which allows it to spot any significant objects (larger than a pigeon) within line of sight range. This unit works at intensity 12.
