Spitfire and the Troubleshooters, Issue 6

Issue Guide #3

Issue 6:
Grim Tidings

This issue began with Steel Hawk once again, apparently recovered completely from his leg-breaking battle with the Spitfire suit, as he prepared for his mission to kill England's Prime Minister. Of course, he had another session of witty banter with his Club contact, first, as he shot some targets and performed some other last minute tasks.

Meanwhile, Jenny was finally released from jail, as the police no longer had enough evidence to hold her captive (the M.A.X. suit was gone, after all). During Jenny's release, Terry had some sort of emotional breakdown, admitting to Eduardo that she was mad at Jenny for putting their lives at risk, and that she loved the guy.

After this mess, Terry decided to rally the Troubleshooters to investigate Krotze's death, and with them in tow, she broke into the local Police computers with her Think-Tank suit. They did so, and found a lead to follow that went straight to that Steel Hawk's place; of course, they then went right up there to check the house out.

Upon their arrival, the Troubleshooters were assaulted by the automatic assault systems that Steel Hawk uses to hone his battle skills, and the systems put the Troubleshooters through their paces until Andy showed up to use his 'Beam-Splitter' to smash the weaponry up. And then the team found out the important stuff.

They'd found stuff to implicate Steel Hawk in Krotze's murder (namely that steel bat and lots of blood and stuff all over the front room), and his plans to blow up the Prime minister of England tacked up to the wall. Knowing that they only had half an hour to prevent the terrorist act, the Troubleshooters made back to Boston with top speed...

Issue 7:
Deadly Resolutions

After the failure of his attempted murder of the English Prime Minister, the mercenary known as Steel Hawk decided to return home, in order to study his failure in greater detail. Upon his arrival, he discovered the place to be a total wreck, with a vagrant hiding out inside. After interrogating the bum, Steel Hawk discovered who had wrecked his home: the Troubleshooters!

Meanwhile, at Jenny's Boston townhouse, the five Troubleshooters showed up to tell Jenny that they were giving up their M.A.X. technology, since it was getting a bit too hot for them. Jenny was more than happy to hear this, as she'd been worrying about them getting hurt playing 'hero' for quite a while, and told them so.

The next day, Steel Hawk presented the video of his failure to destroy Thatcher to the Club bigwigs, showing them what video analasys revealed about his enemies: that they were the Troubleshooters, so-called minions of Jenny Swensen. As the Club had wanted her dead for some time now, they authorized Steel Hawk's new mission of eliminating them.

Later, while Jenny was being denied tenior at M.I.T. (after all of her public brou-hah-hah), Steel Hawk descended on the place, bearing an ambush for Timothy Ferris. He forced the student to don his M.A.X. suit, 'Fast-Back', and proceeded to trick him into running right into a grenade he'd just launched, pretty much blowing him to bits in the process.

Meanwhile, Eduardo and Terry went looking for Andy, as he didn't show up with them to go to a football game, as planned. They found him in a local wood, practicing with his M.A.X. thingermabob, the 'Beam-Splitter', and found out he wasn't willing to give up his super technology like the others were. And then, Steel Hawk struck again.

He forced the three Troubleshooters into battling him with their M.A.X. suits, as he felt it a matter of pride that he defeat them in such a state. After taking a bit of a pounding, Steel Hawk managed to get his hands on Andy, and used his own Beam-Splitter to blast a hole in his chest, killing him instantly. After this, Steel Hawk fled, waiting to kill the others at his leisure.

Oh, and on top of all this, Jenny got herself kidnapped.

Issue 8:
Down and Dirty

While in the hospital, Terry and Eduardo met Eric, and the two exchanged stories about how Steel Hawk was systematically taking them apart, first by mutilating poor Timothy, and then killing Andy outright. Yes, Tim survived the grenade blast, but the doctors treating him had to amputate both of his legs in order to save his life. Of course, the Troubleshooters vowed to get even with Steel Hawk.

Meanwhile, Jenny finally woke up, the drugs her captors had given her having wore off at last. She was greeted by a voice claiming that it wanted her M.A.X. technology, and she refused. With that, the strange thug known as Brick assaulted her, and the two fought until Brick was about to kill her. A short series of whistles stopped him from doing so, however.

The voice of her captor then told her to use the bits of M.A.X. tech handy to build something to protect her from Brick, lest he kill her for real when he returned in twelve hours. With that, Edmund Roth left Jennifer to her devices, watching her to see just what she would do in such a situation: would she give away her M.A.X. technology, or would she die to keep it a secret?

As Jenny's time ticked away, Terry was busy breaking into the F.B.I. criminal database, trying to find some clues as to the whereabouts of Steel Hawk, so the Troubleshooters could put him out of their misery once and for all. Knowing that he would eventually put in an appearance at a local health spa for a good rolfing, Terry and Eduardo left for the place at once.

Meanwhile, Jenny was dealing with the thuggish Brick, having devised a mere whistle to stop him, using the same tones that Roth had used in order to stop his assault earlier. Impressed by this, Roth told Jenny that she had passed his tests with flying colors, as he was impressed by her absolute refusal to give away her technology, even with her life at stake. He then offered her a job with the U.S. government.

Elsewhere, Terry and Giotti had managed to track down Steel Hawk, and Giotti set upon him like nobody's business. Unprepared for the assault, the Hawk was severely wounded in the assault on his life, having had several bones broken by Eduardo's Strong-Arms M.A.X. suit before a masked woman appeared and shot him all up.

Luckily, his metal suit managed to deflect most of the bullets...
