Powers:
Emotion Control (w): his sole power, this ability grants Dean a limited control over the feelings of others. If he can pass an easy emotion control action, opposed by the Willpower of his would-be target, Dean can transform their current emotional state. However, this power is bound by the One Emotion Only limitation, his feeling du jour being unbridled rage. This is an intensity 13 power.
Hindrances:
Naive: the curious nature of Dean's insanity has transformed his mindset into a naive, childish persona. For the purposes of making (and being subjected to) surprise attacks, Dean has effective ability scores of zero, and must always declare his actions first in a given exchange.
Skills:
(none)
Calling:
Explorer: with a child-like zeal, Dean has set out to walk the earth, have adventures, and what have you. He may be unbalanced, but it seems that all he wants out of life is to see the world, or at least the American portion of it, and he's simply wandering about on that trek.
Costume:
Dean has no costume, as he's not your standard villain by any stretch of the term. While perpetrating some mayhemous action or another, he simply wears his ragged cloths into the fray, which include white shoes, blue jeans, a long-sleeved black shirt with a torn yellow shirt on top, and suspenders.
Personality:
Dean's a freakin' nutball. He was crazy before he got his powers, and he's even crazier now that he's a competent, if limited empath. He also seems to have adopted the poor Mr. Lovejoy as a pet of sorts, and since the man has been damaged by Dean's powers, he's not arguing the point...
Real Name: Dean (last name unknown)
Occupation: drifter
Legal Status: American citizen with a likely criminal record
Marital Status: single (?)
Alias(es), if any: Deanie
Group Affiliation: none
Height: 6'
Hair: black
Eyes: black
Weight: 170 lbs.
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Dean has a sloping brow, and a generally thuggish, neolithic look to his features.
Story:
Like his fellow travelers, there isn't all that much known in the way of Dean's background. It is known that he spent quite some time in a mental hospital, as he was rather unbalanced in the past. Of course, while he was institutionalized, he manifested curious paranormal powers in the wake of the so-called White Event, powers that didn't help his condition any.
Using his newfound abilities to inflict uncontrollable rages upon others, he made a successful attempt at a breakout, though he was helped by a fellow inmate. Known only as Mrs. Kaminski, this older lady was also possessed of empathic powers thanks to the White Event, powers she can use to instill a deep sense of fear and dread in others. And she was quite good at it.
After their escape, the two paranormal mental cases began to wander about the immediate area, eventually encountering one Mr. Lovejoy. Though the exact nature of this meeting is unknown, it is relatively certain that he was formerly of sound mental health until he met the empathic duo. After extended exposure to Dean's power, though, he became an animalistic ball of rage.
Furthermore, his own paranormal abilities came to the fore, powers of significant strength. Seeing the use of such a person, Dean and Mrs. Kaminski kept him around for a time, which turned out to be a good thing. You see, when Ken Connell tried to return them to their institution, Mr. Lovejoy's rage-augmented strength helped the two nutballs escape treatment.
Once Connell was defeated, Dean and his two unbalanced compatriots fled the scene of their fight with the would-be hero, and have yet to be seen since - at least, in published accounts, at any rate. As such, this trio is likely wandering the hiways and byways of the States to this day, causing all manner of trouble and other problems as they do what they must to survive...
