Daytonus F A S E R I P Res Pop Rm 30 In 40 Ex 20 Rm 30 Gd 10 Rm 30 Ex 20 Ex 20 Gd +10* Health: 120 Karma: 60 * Amongst humans, at least. Ex +20 to fellow Autobots, Ex -20 regarding Predacons / Decepticons. Origin: As are the rest of the Autobots, much less every other Transformer, Daytonus is an electromechanical entity hailing from Cybertron, a robot with the ability to change between his two separate forms at his leisure. He may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place here. Known Powers: Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Autobots, Daytonus is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this lightning-quick warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Daytonus these super human powers: * Armor Skin: like most Cybertronians, Daytonus was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Good (10) resistance to injury. This makes him resistant to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows: Gd 10 / Pr 4 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 * Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Due to his considerable height in his humanoid mode, Daytonus has this power via technicality; he may very well grow somewhat while transforming, but doesn't appear to do so. According to the standard Growth rules, Daytonus has this power at Typical (6) rank, making him stand approximately twelve foot tall. Since his Strength rank is higher, this offers him no combat benefit, but on the other hand, human-sized folks targeting Daytonus receive a +1 CS to hit him in battle. The Ultimate Powers Book, however, gives Daytonus this power at Poor (4) rank, making him out to be two times a normal human's size. This would grant this Autobot scatterbrain a +1 CS to the Strength score listed above (raising it to Remarkable (30)), thus adding 10 points to his Health score. According to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, on the other hand, Daytonus's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +1 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth). Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Daytonus has a +1 size factor. As such, he inflicts +1 CS damage vs normal human opponents, and has 1 CS of Damage Reduction against them. On the other hand, he is at a -1 CS to hit them in combat, while they receive a +1 CS to hit him. * Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Daytonus is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances. * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche. Headlights: to better emulate earthen vehicles (and since they come in handy in the dark), most automotive Transformers on earth are equipped with a set of convenient headlights. These twin lamps can be used to generate Excellent (20) intensity illumination, making driving at night no problem. Shapechange: whenever he desires, Daytonus can transform between his humanoid and Sol-Aire CX4 car modes, and often does so quickly in battle to maximize the use of his abilities. This power is voice-activated, however ("Daytonus, Transform!"). His car mode has these vehicular statistics: C S B P In 40 Mn 75 Rm 30 Gd 10 Equipment: Laser Sidearm: unlike most of his fellow Autobots, Daytonus has no special combat powers, so he carries a powerful weapon on him at all times, which is stored within his body while he's in his vehicular form. He can use this sidearm to inflict Remarkable (30) Armor Piercing Energy damage per shot. Quirks: Action Addict: Daytonus has a very short attention span. He's not happy unless he's doing something that requires his maximum attention - if not, his mind tends to wander, and he becomes rather easily distracted. If idle, he must pass a Psyche FEAT at -1 CS to keep from fidgeting and such. Furthermore, if this state of affairs continues for any serious length of time (say, if assigned to guard duty or something requiring like patience), Daytonus must pass a Psyche FEAT at -3 CS to maintain his focus; if he fails this FEAT, he'll probably wander off in order to find something more 'fun' to do. Talents: Advanced Guns: a large, painstaking part of Daytonus' combat training has involved learning how to effectively utilize his laser sidearm. Whenever wielding this, or any other advanced energy-based weaponry, he should do so as though his listed Agility score was +1 CS higher in rank. Contacts: Though he's somewhat unreliable, Daytonus is an Autobot, and can naturally rely upon his fellows for assistance should he need it. This is a good thing, since he tends to get himself in all kinds of trouble when looking for adventure - but the Autobots take care of their own, even when it's a pain. Likeness: In his vehicular mode, Daytonus perfectly resembles a sleek, orange Sol-Aire CX4 with black stripes and striking, blue-tinted windows. When he transforms into his humanoid configuration, though, Daytonus appears to be a robot built from various components of an orange and black Sol-Aire CX4. Personality: Daytonus has a very short attention span. He grows bored incredibly fast, and is on a constant search for new and interesting things to do. If forced to perform any duty that causes him to sit still for more than, say, five minutes, he'll grow whiny and listless, and will eventually grow fed up and frustrated. This, of course, because he's living life at a rate that is several times faster than his fellows, in his head at least. This leads to all kinds of exasperation when working with others - they just don't move along quick enough. It's always talk talk talk, and nowhere near enough action for his liking. Real Name: Daytonus Occupation: Autobot warrior Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron with no known criminal record on earth Marital Status: inapplicable Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Autobots Height: 12' Hair: inapplicable Eyes: black Weight: several tons Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Daytonus is composed of a strong alien metal that is primarily orange in color, with two large black stripes running from front to back (or top to bottom in humanoid form), and blue, crystalline windows regardless of his configuration. Story: Daytonus is something like the Autobots' problem child - he always has been. They're not sure exactly where this fellow went wrong, but he just can't seem to focus on anything for any serious length of time. He'll invariably get bored with anything he's supposed to be doing, and go looking for adventure. While most Autobots chalk this up to a terminally short attention span, the truth is that Daytonus' mind is perpetually on 'fast forward'. You see, he's cursed with a neural network that is too efficient for its own good, causing him to literally think several times faster than all other Cybertronians. One might think this is a good thing, but it causes him to get bored easily. Painfully so, in fact. Daytonus does try to do his part for the Autobot cause, though, so he'll usually attempt to alleviate his boredom by concentrating on six or seven different things at a time, making whatever he's doing less boring to him. As such, Daytonus will seem distracted even while hanging around with his fellows, when he's not aware of his surroundings enough to whine about how bored he is. This is why the Autobots on Cybertron sent him to earth - they figured this new world would hold his attention for a time. And get him out of their proverbial hair. Once he arrived, Daytonus was indeed immersed in earth culture, and actually interested in what was going on for a while. He helped his earth-bound allies out on a few missions, but the perpetual sameness of the Predacons' chicanery ultimately bored him to tears. He then wandered off, leaving the Autobots' secret headquarters on a search for something different. He tried participating in primitive, human car races, but the utter boredom that repetitious laps caused, coupled with a lack of obstacles and death traps, ended his NASCAR (TM) career early. Daytonus then set up shop in an electronic appliance store, much to the chagrin of the owner, and sat down in front of about fifty different televisions - each on a different channel. If it weren't for the saturation of dross commercials, much less unoriginal programming, this may've kept Daytonus busy. So, Daytonus just wanders the earth now, keeping an eye out for anything exciting. This in itself has caused him to literally stumble into various Predacon and Decepticon schemes, some of which his fellow Autobots were totally in the dark about (until Daytonus gave them a heads up, that is). Despite his lack of focus, Daytonus nonetheless helped the Autobots in their greatest hour of peril, that being when Galvatron made his final bid to capture Fortress Maximus. Along with his fellows, Daytonus fought with the undead Decepticon and his many minions, a battle Daytonus and company ultimately won. With Galvatron and his flunkies all rounded up, the Autobots had no reason to stay on earth, so they took their enemies (and their toys) and went home. All save for Daytonus, of course. He figured that, having seen enough of Cybertron, he'd be happier being bored here on earth... * Note: it should be stated that this description of Daytonus is not, in fact, based on any 'official' literature or tech specs on the character, since there is none; I simply produced it as I did not wish to leave any characters from the Robots in Disguise line uncovered. Just so you know, after all.
