In +40 to fellow Autobots, In -40 regarding Predacons / Decepticons. Origin: Like the other members of the Build Team, and as are his fellow Autobots, Heavy Load is an electromechanical entity from Cybertron, a robot that strives to prevent Decepticon dominion of the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth. Known Powers: Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Autobots, Heavy Load is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this graceful warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Heavy Load these super human powers: * Armor Skin: like most Cybertronians, Heavy Load was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Remarkable (30) resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows: Rm 30 / Gd 10 / Pr 4 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 * Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Due to his significant height in his humanoid mode, Heavy Load has this power via technicality; he may very well grow somewhat while transforming, but doesn't appear to do so. According to the standard Growth rules, Heavy Load has this power at Good (10) rank, making him stand approximately fourteen feet tall. Since his Strength rank is (much) higher, this offers him no combat benefit, but on the other hand, human-sized folks targeting Heavy Load receive a +1 CS to hit him in battle. The Ultimate Powers Book, however, gives Heavy Load this power at Poor (4) rank, making him out to be a bit over twice a normal human's size. This would grant this heavy duty Autobot a +1 CS to the Strength score listed above (raising it to Monstrous (75)), thus adding 25 points to his Health score. According to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, on the other hand, Heavy Load's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +1 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth). Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Heavy Load has a +1 size factor. As such, he inflicts +1 CS damage vs normal human opponents, and has 1 CS of Damage Reduction against them. On the other hand, he is at a -1 CS to hit them in combat, while they receive a +1 CS to hit him. * Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Heavy Load is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances. * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche. Chomper Bucket: when he transforms into his humanoid mode, Heavy Load's 'cargo' area is reborn as a deadly, giant claw mechanism. He can use this devastating weapon to either grapple or inflict Edged Attack damage at his Strength rank +1 CS - making it highly effective against even the largest of foes. Gestalt: as a member of the Autobot Build Team, Heavy Load can merge with his fellows in order to form the mighty Landfill. This Amazing (50) ranked power allows him to join with Wedge in one of three possible configurations - serving as either of Landfill's legs or both of his arms. Headlights: to better emulate earthen vehicles (and since they come in handy in the dark), most automotive Transformers on earth are equipped with a set of convenient headlights. These twin lamps can be used to generate Excellent (20) intensity illumination, making driving at night no problem. Shapechange: whenever he desires, Heavy Load can transform between his humanoid and dump truck mode, and often does so quickly in battle to maximize the use of his abilities. This power is voice-activated, however ("Heavy Load, Transform!"). His dump truck mode has these vehicular statistics: C S B P In 40 Gd 10 Un 100 Rm 30 Tunneling: Heavy Load can use this power either by himself or in tandem with the rest of the Build Team. If tunneling solo, Heavy Load may do so at Good (10) rank, but if all four members of the Build Team work together, they can dig through the earth with Remarkable (30) ability. Equipment: (none) Quirks: (none) Talents: Engineering / Construction: as are the other members of the Build Team, Heavy Load is a competent engineer, able to build any item or structure he needs to, thanks to his advanced, Cybertronian knowledge. He should receive a +1 CS on any FEAT required when building anything. Martial Arts types A, B, and E: highly skilled in the fine art of personal combat, Heavy Load has mastered these techniques. As such, he can inflict slam or stun results upon a foe regardless of his comparative Str or End scores, and gains both a +1 initiative modifier and +1 CS to hit in unarmed combat. Skill / Chomper Bucket: supplementing his extensive martial arts skills, this talent describes Heavy Load's prowess with his one and only personal weapon, his Chomper Bucket. When using this device to grapple or dismember a foe, he may do so as though his Ftg rank was +1 CS in rank. Contacts: As a member of the Build Team, Heavy Load is naturally able to call upon his fellows for assistance at any time - though it's more likely that he will be helping them in a pinch. Furthermore, being an Autobot means that he can count on that large group of warriors for help when necessary. Likeness: In his vehicular configuration, Heavy Load appears to be a simple, mundane dump truck - a yellow dump truck, at that. However, when he transforms into his humanoid mode, Heavy Load appears to be a large, yellow and silver robot built from various bits and pieces of a dump truck. Personality: Loyal to a fault, the cheerful Heavy Load has devoted himself to Wedge's service. He acts as the young Autobot's personal assistant, and would lay down his very life for Wedge if necessary. He also sees himself as a mentor of sorts, and does his best to teach his charge everything he knows. Real Name: Heavy Load Occupation: Autobot architect, warrior Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron with no known criminal record on earth Marital Status: inapplicable Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Autobots, the Build Team Height: 14' Hair: inapplicable Eyes: red Weight: several tons Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Heavy Load is composed of a strong alien metal that is primarily yellow in color, with bits of silver in places, regardless of his current configuration. Story: Many details about Heavy Load's origins are somewhat murky, but it is known that, some time ago, he met and befriended the young Autobot known as Wedge. Though incredibly young, this Cybertronian architect was possessed of inexhaustible energy and drive, and Heavy Load thought him destined for greatness. As such, Heavy Load devoted himself to Wedge's cause, and has become his personal assistant in all matters. He is instructing the youthful Autobot in everything he knows, hoping to make him a master of the martial arts like himself; of course, Heavy Load tends to be Wedge's voice of reason more often than not. At any rate, when Wedge came to earth at Optimus Prime's request, Heavy Load was right behind him in the transport, and has helped him in his mission to wire up the whole planet with space bridge technology, technology that allows the Autobots to drive virtually anywhere on earth in mere minutes. Wedge eventually wished to join the various battles that the other Autobots were fighting on earth, however, and hoping to keep him out of harm's way, Heavy Load (along with the other members of the Build Team) naturally accompanied him into the fray, though their first fight on earth was a bit... messy. Though Wedge wound up in more trouble than he could handle, Heavy Load managed to trick the Predacons and Decepticons menacing him into getting themselves out of the picture. After this, he and the rest of the Build Team have shown up repeatedly to foil Megatron's sinister plots. Of course, the war between the Autobots and Megatron's flunkies was eventually won, and the Autobots were no longer needed on earth. As such, it fell to the Build Team to dismantle all of the Autobot technology scattered about the earth, so it may be some time before Heavy Load finally leaves our world...!
