Origin:

Omega Prime is, as are all other Autobots on earth, an electromechanical entity with origins on the planet Cybertron. While the other Autobots possess a continued existence, though, Omega Prime only comes into being when Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus merge their forms and minds to create him.

Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique:
like his fellow Autobots, Omega Prime is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this supreme warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Omega Prime these super human powers:

* Armor Skin: like most Cybertronians, Omega Prime forms with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Remarkable (30) resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows:

Rm 30 / Gd 10 / Pr 4 / Sh 0 / Sh 0

* Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Due to his significant height, Omega Prime has this power via technicality; after all, the merged form of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus is about twenty-five feet tall, give or take.

According to the standard Growth rules, Omega Prime has this power at Monstrous (75) rank, since he is of course twenty-five feet tall. Since his Strength rank is higher, this offers him no combat benefit, but on the other hand, human-sized folks targeting Omega receive a +3 CS to hit him in battle.

The Ultimate Powers Book, however, would rank this power at a mere Good (10) rank, giving him a similar height (being just over four times a generic human's size). Omega Prime thus receives a +2 CS to the Strength score listed above (raising it to Shift Y (200)), and adds 100 points to his Health score.

According to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, on the other hand, Omega Prime's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +2 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth).

Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Optimus Prime has a +1 size factor. As such, he inflicts +1 CS damage vs normal human opponents, and has 1 CS of Damage Reduction against them. On the other hand, he is at a -1 CS to hit them in combat, while they receive a +1 CS to hit him.

* Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Omega Prime is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances.

* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche.

* Radio Transceiver: as are most all Transformers on earth, Omega Prime is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Autobot on earth, having Excellent (20) range (25,000 miles).

Flight: sharing components of both Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus, Omega Prime can utilize Magnus' rocket boosters whenever he finds the need. This jet pack / flight wing combo allows him to achieve Shift X (150) flight - approximately Mach 1 - while careening through the air in battle.

Omega Arsenal Blast: when all else fails, Omega Prime can unleash all of his weaponry in one fell swoop, firing attacks from eight different locations on his body (laser, gatling laser, gyro pads, hands, and even his feet). This amounts to a Shift Y (200) Energy assault, and can deal with whole groups of enemies!

Omega Gatling Laser: an upgraded portion of Ultra Magnus' anatomy, this weapon can be used by Omega Prime to much greater effect. It fires a rapid pulse of laser blasts that are capable of inflicting Unearthly (100) 2x (-4 CS) Armor Piercing energy damage - few defenses can withstand this attack.

Omega Laser: yet another upgraded component of Ultra Magnus', Omega Prime can use this powerful beam caster to inflict Shift X (150) Armor Piercing Energy damage with every deadly blast, which is just about enough to bring most anybody to heel, and tends to end most battles very quickly.

Equipment:

Matrix Blade:
when super-charged by Fortress Maximus' power, Omega Prime was able to channel an unbelievable amount of energy into the Matrix, which allowed him to call forth the mighty Matrix Blade. This large (50' long) blade is an energy construct of Class 3k material strength.

Of course, it's also incredibly heavy and unwieldy, and requires at least an Unearthly (100) Strength to wield. However, it can be used in Omega Prime's hands to inflict his Strength +1 CS in Edged Attack damage, and was in fact the instrument with which the Autobots finally defeated the evil Galvatron!

the Matrix: being the combination of the Autobots' two bearers of the Matrix, Omega Prime can likely access its power as he sees fit - after all, he used it to craft his Matrix Blade. Of course, he's not usually around long enough to contemplate any more extensive use of the Matrix's immense power.

However, should he have a need, he can surely use it in a fashion similar to that perpetrated by his two component Autobots in the past, and possibly more. In fact, he may very well be the only incarnation of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus that can use the Matrix as has been done in the past.

See Optimus Prime's entry for more on the Matrix and its powers.

Quirks:

(none)

Talents:

Advanced Guns:
supplementing his deceptively impressive dexterity, Omega Prime is a very good marksman, and rarely misses his target. Whenever he's wielding any sort of advanced weaponry, such as his various omega lasers, he may do so as though his Agility was +1 CS in rank.

Aerial Combat: while he is quite the scrapper on the ground, Omega Prime seems to excel while fighting enemies in the air - or attacking those on the ground while he's airborne. Whenever he's engaged in combat while in the air, Omega Prime should make all combat FEATs at a +1 CS.

Guns: in addition to using high-impact energy weapons, Omega Prime is also well-versed in the use of standard, chemical-propellant slug-throwers. Whenever using such weaponry - whether or not it's integral to his person - Omega Prime does so at a +1 CS to his Agility rank.

Leadership: more than anything else, Omega Prime is a leader renowned throughout the cosmos - he's pooling the sum of his component Autobots' leadership ability, after all. When in a Karma pool that defers to his leadership, said pool receives an additional 50 points while Omega is a member of it.

Military: in addition to his leadership skills, Omega Prime is also a competent soldier with thousands upon thousands of years of combat experience under his belt. He is a master of battle tactics, and can usually outwit most any foe with a good plan given enough time to conjure one up.

Contacts:

As the combination of the Autobots' two greatest warriors and leaders, Omega Prime naturally has the rest of the team to rely upon should he find himself in more trouble than he can handle. They will go out of their way to protect their beloved boss, and naturally, Omega Prime would do the same for them.

Likeness:

The sum of both Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus' parts, Omega Prime is a truly mighty spectacle to behold. Colored in the red, white and blue colors of his component Autobots, this veritable engineering work of art is also decked out with chrome and gold trim throughout his massive frame.

Personality:

A perfect combination of his two component Autobots, Omega Prime is wholly dedicated to the protection of innocents, especially those that have been endangered due to the Autobot / Predacon conflict on earth. A selfless hero, wields his unstoppable power with nothing but goodness in his heart.

Story:

As is the case with the results of most other Transformer gestalts, Omega Prime leads a transient existence, only being operable when his two component Autobots, Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus, merge their bodies and minds together. And naturally, the two aren't on the greatest of terms.

The first time Omega Prime appeared, it was as the result of a gambit Ultra Magnus used to seize Optimus Prime's power - and the Matrix itself. However, he quickly found out that the power of Omega Prime was only available when the two brothers were working together in concert.

Once Optimus managed to illustrate this point to his brother, Omega Prime roared into battle, as the Decepticons were trying to kill Optimus at the time, and were wholly unprepared for this new threat to their evil schemes. After they'd been driven off, Omega Prime reverted to his component bits.

After this initial merger, Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus merged on several additional occasions, mostly when the threat the Decepticons and Predacons posed grew too great for each Autobot to handle on his own. Over time, this continual merging seems to have healed the rift between the two brothers somewhat.

Not completely, of course, but this slight reconciliation between the two allowed Omega Prime to become even more effective when the two combined, which may have made the difference between victory and defeat in the Autobots' final battle with Galvatron - an immensely upgraded version of Megatron himself.

Overwhelmed by this villain when he leeched Fortress Maximus' power with his vampiric abilities, Omega Prime attempted to sacrifice himself to seal Galvatron in the earth's core forever, but this turned out to be unnecessary; Omega was saved by an influx of power from a recovered Fort Max, you see.

Using this power, Omega Prime crafted his mighty Matrix Blade, and used it to bludgeon Galvatron senseless, even breaking that villain's own mega sword in the process. Once he'd defeated Galvatron, Omega Prime seized him and imprisoned him within the confines of Fortress Maximus himself.

With Galvatron beaten, though, and his minions in a complete rout, Omega Prime found that he was no longer needed. As such, he again reverted into his component Autobots, who split up for a time; Optimus to make sure the earth was okay without the Autobots, and Magnus to take the Autobots' prisoners away.

The two brothers ultimately returned to Cybertron, however, and it seems that they may not need the power of Omega Prime any longer; of course, this remains to be seen. Should a mighty threat to freedom rear its ugly head anew, though, the power of Omega Prime may very well return to the world...!
