Rm +30 to fellow Autobots, Rm -30 regarding Predacons / Decepticons. Origin: As are the members of Team Bullet Train that comprise his form, not to mention the Autobots in general, Rail Racer is an electromechanical entity hailing from Cybertron, a transforming robot sent to earth to protect it from evil. Of course, he only exists when his component 'bots combine to form him... Known Powers: Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Autobots, Rail Racer is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this highly agile fighter has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Rail Racer these super human powers: * Armor Skin: like most Cybertronians, Rail Racer was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Excellent (20) resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows: Ex 20 / Ty 6 / Fe 2 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 * Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Due to his significant height, Rail Racer has this power via technicality; after all, though they fold up funny to generate his form, Rail Racer's component Autobots are each over 20 feet tall. According to the standard Growth rules, Rail Racer has this power at Unearthly (100) rank, making him stand approximately 30 feet tall. Since his Strength is a bit lower, Rail Racer can use this rank in melee combat to determine damage, but human-sized foes receive a +3 CS to hit him in battle. The Ultimate Powers Book, however, gives Rail Racer this power at Excellent (20) rank, making him out to be (over four, though not quite) six times a normal human's size. This grants him a +3 CS to the Strength score listed above (raising it to Shift Y (200)), thus adding 125 points to his Health score. According to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, on the other hand, Rail Racer's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +3 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth). Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Rail Racer has a +2 size factor. As such, he inflicts +2 CS damage vs normal human opponents, and has 2 CS of Damage Reduction against them. On the other hand, he is at a -2 CS to hit them in combat, while they receive a +2 CS to hit him. * Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Rail Racer is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances. * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche. * Radio Transceiver: as are most all Transformers on earth, Rail Racer is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Autobot on earth, having Excellent (20) range (25,000 miles). Hover Accelerators: Rail Racer has a pair of hover pads on his feet, allowing him to glide about a foot or so above the ground - and at impressive speeds. He can 'skate' with Unearthly (100) ground speed, or at about 600 miles per hour, making him incredibly mobile for such a large Autobot. Mirror Split: Rail Racer also has the power to generate illusory duplicates of himself. These holographic doubles are accurate to an Unearthly (100) degree, meaning that an opponent must pass an Intuition FEAT at that intensity to find the real Rail Racer - or just blast at them all... Equipment: Fusion Laser Rifle: a combination of Railspike's sonic umbrella and Midnight Express' diesel destructor gun, this weapon can be fired to devastating effect in battle. The fusion laser rifle fires a beam of Unearthly (100) intensity laser light, which inflicts Armor Piercing Energy damage with each deadly blast. Seven Shield: Rail Racer also carries Rapid Run's Seven Shield with him in combat. This device generates a deflector field that bounces off any non-direct hit (white or green combat results), as well as having a one-shot 'compression injector' built in - the latter of which inflicts Incredible (40) Force damage. Quirks: (none) Talents: Marksman: as do two of his component Autobots, Rail Racer has quite a knack in the use of long-range, line of sight weaponry - such as mortars and missiles. When wielding such devices, Rail Racer may do so as though his Agility was +1 CS higher than is listed above. Martial Arts types B and C: in addition to his skill with long-range weaponry, Rail Racer is quite a competent hand to hand combatant. He should receive a +1 CS to his Fighting on any unarmed melee strike, grappling attacks, escape maneuvers or even dodge attempts. Shields: if he can make a green Fighting FEAT in battle, Rail Racer can get his Seven Shield (or any other defensive implement) in the way of any attack headed towards his person, likely deflecting it in a random direction. He can also use it to attack (shield smash) at his Fighting score +1 CS. Contacts: As one of their most powerful operatives, Rail Racer can naturally rely upon the Autobots for assistance should he need it - though normally it's him that's lending them a helping hand. Not that he can really help it, for a knack for teamwork is naturally wired into his personality... Likeness: Rail Racer's form is exactly what it appears to be - namely, he looks like an immense robot built from three separate bullet train engines. Rail Racer is primarily white and blue in coloration, with gray in places and yellow and black trim here and there. His design is very sleek and polished, indeed. Personality: Rail Racer's mind is a perfect mesh of its three component Autobots. Led by the wisdom of Railspike, Rail Racer has also wields the unyielding confidence of Rapid Run and the youthful enthusiasm of Midnight Express. These qualities combine to form a high speed, high energy Autobot that's nigh-unstoppable! Real Name: Rail Racer Occupation: Autobot warrior Legal Status: inapplicable (he's only in existence occasionally) Marital Status: inapplicable Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Autobots Height: 30' (approximately) Hair: inapplicable Eyes: pink Weight: many many tons Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Rail Racer is an immense robot built from three separate bullet train engines, one that is mainly white, blue, and gray in hue (the latter on his back and mid-torso), with yellow and black accents here and there, which makes him look quite striking. Story: Just like the other Cybertronian gestalts, Rail Racer leads something of an intermittent life, coming into existence only when the three members of Team Bullet Train (Midnight Express, Railspike and Rapid Run) combine their minds, bodies, and sparks to form him - which they admittedly do often. As these three Autobots work very well together, and all believe in teamwork, they have no qualms about merging to pool their abilities and to form a greater whole. This is why whenever matters get particularly hairy for the Autobots, it's usually not long before Rail Racer bursts onto the scene! He was first seen on earth while Megatron's Predacon minions tried to swipe a new, human-built bullet train. His appearance meant the quick end of the crisis at hand, and Rail Racer has been formed to fight the Autobots' evil cousins on countless occasions ever since. It seems that Rail Racer has something of a rivalry with the Decepticon Combatron gestalt Ruination, however. The two seem to eagerly fight whenever they are both called upon in combat, and while Rail Racer is much more maneuverable, Ruination appears to have superior firepower. This has caused their fights to be something of a toss-up; sometimes Ruination is victorious, sometimes Rail Racer wins out in the end. Of course, now that the war on earth is over for him and his allies, this rivalry may be a moot point; Rail Racer may never actually encounter Ruination again. What with his component Decepticons having been captured and carted off to an asteroid penal colony. Regardless, wherever Team Bullet Train goes now that the earth has been saved from Cybertronian villainy for a time, Rail Racer is sure to appear - he's just too useful to keep bottled up for long!
