* Amongst humans, at least. Mn +75 to fellow Autobots, Mn -75 regarding Predacons / Decepticons.

Origin:

Like the rest of the Build Team, and as are his fellow Autobots, Wedge is an electromechanical entity from Cybertron, a robot that strives to prevent Decepticon dominion of the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth.

Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique:
like his fellow Autobots, Wedge is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this aspiring young warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Wedge these super human powers:

* Armor Skin: like most Cybertronians, Wedge was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Good (10) resistance to injury. This makes him resistant to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows:

Gd 10 / Pr 4 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 / Sh 0

* Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Due to his height in his humanoid mode, Wedge has this power via technicality; he may very well grow somewhat while transforming, but doesn't appear to do so.

According to the standard Growth rules, Wedge has this power at Feeble (2) rank, making him stand approximately eight foot tall. Since his Strength rank is higher, this offers him no combat benefit, but on the other hand, human-sized folks targeting Wedge receive a +1 CS to hit him in battle.

The Ultimate Powers Book also gives Wedge this power at Feeble (2) rank, making him out to be just shy of 1.5 times a normal human's size. Unlike some of the other Autobots on earth, his size and mass alone do not grant Wedge a Strength bonus, making him better suited for construction work, really...

According to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, on the other hand, Wedge's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +1 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth).

Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Wedge has a size factor of zero (0). As such, he receives no special bonuses or penalties when combating human-sized opponents thanks to his size alone. However, this does put him at a slight disadvantage against the larger Predacons, like Sky-Bite...

* Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Wedge is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances.

* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche.

Blade Attack / Shoulder Smash: Wedge's bulldozer blades are situated upon his shoulders in his humanoid mode, allowing him to do particularly vicious damage in a charge maneuver. When he charges in combat, Wedge can choose to inflict normal or Edged Attack damage when he hits.

Double Buster Gun: inherent to his form in his bulldozer mode, this device detaches when Wedge transforms (it is not stored in sub-space when not in use). Wedge's double buster gun is a twin laser emitter he can use to inflict Incredible (40) Armor Piercing Energy damage with each dual blast.

Gestalt: the leader of the Build Team, Wedge naturally has this Amazing (50) ranked power, allowing him to combine with his fellows in order to form the mighty Landfill. Wedge forms the central component of Landfill, around which the other Build Team members can merge in a modular fashion.

Headlights: to better emulate earthen vehicles (and since they come in handy in the dark), most automotive Transformers on earth are equipped with a set of convenient headlights. These twin lamps can be used to generate Excellent (20) intensity illumination, making driving at night no problem.

Shapechange: whenever he desires, Wedge can transform between his humanoid and mini-bulldozer mode, and often does so quickly in battle to maximize the use of his abilities. This power is voice-activated, however ("Wedge, Transform!"). His bulldozer mode has these vehicular statistics:

S
Ex 20

Tunneling: Wedge can use this power either by himself or in tandem with the rest of the Build Team. If tunneling solo, Wedge may do so at Good (10) rank, but if all four members of the Build Team work together, they can dig through the earth with Remarkable (30) ability.

Talents:

Advanced Guns:
though he is somewhat lacking in other aspects of combat, Wedge is well-versed in the use of his own, inherent weaponry. As such, he can make attacks with his double buster gun, as well as any other advanced, energy-based weapons, as though his Agility was +1 CS in rank.

Engineering / Construction 2: his primary purpose, this talent describes Wedge's skill in the creation of new items and structures. Wedge has the ability to build most anything he sets his mind to, thanks to his advanced Cybertronian knowledge, and may attempt FEATs to do so at a +2 CS.

Leadership: though it doesn't come from any practical level of experience, Wedge is apparently a natural-built leader; despite his inexperience, his natural charm and charisma has drawn a team of Autobots to his side. Wedge's leadership may add 50 Karma points to any Karma pool he belongs to.

Contacts:

Leader of the Build Team, Wedge can naturally rely upon his fellows for assistance; though he's young and inexperienced, his team holds him in the highest regard. Furthermore, as he is an Autobot, Wedge also can count all of those heroic robots from Cybertron as reliable contacts as well.

Likeness:

In his bulldozer form, Wedge resembles a mini-bulldozer that is primarily neon orange in hue, with gray trim in places. When he transforms, however, Wedge's appearance alters considerably, and he then resembles a tall, humanoid robot built from bits and pieces of an orange bulldozer.

Personality:

Wedge is very... enthusiastic. A veritable child at heart, if mostly because he is so young relative to the rest of the Build Team, Wedge sees himself as both a great architect and a great warrior - though he's still working on the latter. This 'bot is exceptionally brave, almost to the point of foolishness.

Story:

Unlike many of the Autobots on earth, Wedge hasn't actually seen all that much combat against the Predacons and Decepticons. You see, as soon as he came online here, he and his fellows in the Build Team were charged with building the equipment the Autobots needed to function properly on earth.

The product of these labors, aside from the top secret Autobase, is of course the space bridge network. This is a massive matrix of subterranean tunnels connected by transwarp portals. These tunnels have countless access points around the world, allowing the Autobots to drive virtually anywhere in minutes.

While Wedge enjoys his work, he longs to contribute to the Autobot cause as a warrior as well as an architect. His passion for setting things right, along with his amazing construction skills, is apparently why the Build Team follows this young firebrand; they're all much older than he is, after all.

This longing came to the forefront when the Build Team was charged with making a space bridge access point in icy Antarctica, where the Predacons were raiding a diamond mine for all it was worth. Wrangling with Optimus Prime, he agreed to build the tunnel if he and his team could rout the Predacons.

Upon their arrival, the Build Team fought with Sky-Bite and his three subordinates, but were actually defeated by the Predacons due to their inexperience. Though beaten, Wedge and his Build Team were determined to prove their worth, and eventually did so by putting their foes in their place.

After this, Wedge and company regularly joined the other Autobots in battle with Megatron's forces, for Optimus Prime felt that they should fight despite their lack of experience; if they never did so, they'd never attain the battle prowess and combat skills that they needed, after all.

In fact, Wedge proved instrumental in the Autobots' final battle with Galvatron, after his insane bravery and selfless dedication to the Autobots' cause helped Fortress Maximus to activate himself during this all-out scrap. If not for this, all the Autobots on earth may have been wiped out.

Now that Galvatron has been defeated, and he and his legion of evil followers have been incarcerated off-world, Wedge's ultimate fate is unknown. It may take him and his Build Team some time to moth-ball the Autobots' various technology on earth, so he may hang around for quite some time.

Though unless the Predacons or Decepticons return, Wedge may eventually return to Cybertron...
