Smokejumper Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 4x 13d 16x 13d Hand Size: 3 (17) Edge: 1 Powers: Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Decepticons, Smokejumper is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this incredibly agile combatant has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Smokejumper these super human powers: * Body Armor (s): like most Cybertronians, Smokejumper was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him +3 resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and somewhat resistant to his fellow robots (taking his Strength into consideration). * Growth (a): most Cybertronians have a degree of control over their size, no matter their form. Due to his significant height in his humanoid mode, Smokejumper has this power via technicality; he may very well grow somewhat while transforming, but doesn't appear to do so. This power is bound in Smokejumper's case by the Permanent limitation, meaning that Smokejumper is always 12 foot tall in his humanoid mode. Due to his size, Smokejumper possesses this power at intensity 2, and while it's permanent, the requisite Strength and Agility changes are not applied. This since his foes often vary in size considerably; the Autobots are not all die-cast from the same mold. For the sake of simplicity, one could just apply those alterations and call it a day, or he may go for accuracy and vary them based on the size of his current opponent; whichever works for your game. * Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins (s): like all robots, Smokejumper is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses complete immunity to organic pathogens, and a 'mere' +10 resistance to other, more chemically creative substances. * Microscopic + Telescopic Vision (w): all Transformers can alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at intensity 2, these powers let them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche. * Radio Transceiver (i): as are most all Transformers on earth, Smokejumper is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Cybertronian, having intensity 10 power (25,000 mile range). Flight (a): as can most Decepticons, Smokejumper can fly regardless of his current shape. He only flies at intensity 4 speed while in his humanoid shape, but his alt-mode is built for speed; it moves with intensity 13 flight, leaving sonic booms in its wake. Gestalt (a): Smokejumper has the ability to merge his vehicular form with that of his cohort, Dreadwind, in order to form the frighteningly powerful fighter jet, Dreadwing. This super-bomber adds Smokejumper's tactical ability and tracking devices to Dreadwind's destructive might. Phase Conjugate Tracking Probes (w): carried in both of his configurations, these devices allow Smokejumper to track a foe with intensity 18 skill - and relay that information to others, such as his partner in crime, Dreadwind. Shapechange (a): whenever he desires, Smokejumper can transform between his humanoid and jet fighter mode, and often does so quickly in battle to maximize the use of his abilities. This power is voice-activated, however ('Smokejumper, Transform!'). Equipment: (none) Hindrances: (none) Skills: Aerial Combat (a): one thing that Smokejumper truly excels at is airborne combat - at least, in the endless simulations running through his head. He makes all maneuvers he attempts in the air at a reduced difficulty - most of which are defensive considering his lack of armaments. Military (w): a tactical genius, Smokejumper is easily able to analyze a given situation and determine how best to come out victorious. He has a reduced difficulty when formulating his own tactics or attempting to determine the tactics of others in the field. Calling: Soldier: passion is not something you can readily equate to Smokejumper; he believes in the Decepticon cause but he does not get all riled up about it; he just does his job to the best of his ability, and to heck with everything else - such as silly emotions like pride, or hate. Likeness: In his alternate mode, Smokejumper appears to be a green and gray jet vaguely resembling an F-22 Raptor - albeit one much smaller than the real thing. When he transforms, Smokejumper appears to be a humanoid machine assembled from spare, green and gray aircraft parts. Personality: Somewhat introverted and withdrawn, Smokejumper doesn't hate his fellow Decepticons so much as he finds himself wholly focused on his work; he's so busy analyzing tactical possibilities and gathering data for his compatriots that 'interpersonal relationships' just don't rate. Real Name: Smokejumper Occupation: Decepticon warrior Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron with a considerable criminal record Marital Status: inapplicable Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Decepticons, possibly the Destructicons Height: 12' Hair: inapplicable Eyes: red Weight: several tons Other Distinguishing Characteristics: regardless of his current form, Smokejumper is composed of a strong alien metal that is primarily Army green in hue, with gray trim and components in places. Story: Smokejumper is a believer in the Decepticon cause, not that you can tell that by observing him from afar. He's withdrawn, meticulous, and has a strong work ethic - were it not for the most minor shift in ethical focus, he could readily make a most effective Autobot. He doesn't come across as evil, so much as almost maniacally focused on the task with which he is so staggeringly good. Since he is otherwise not very powerful, it was deemed a good idea to team with him with a veritable one-man army: the loose cannon Dreadwind. This loud, boisterous Decepticon warrior is a flying arsenal and symphony of destruction, but he lacks focus and discipline - two things that Smokejumper carries in the extreme. When the two work together, the resulting mayhem can only be described as catastrophic. Whether alone or flying with their vehicular mode combined into the super-jet, Dreadwing, the duo are always in the thick of combat, Dreadwind often ground zero in a symphony of destruction and Smokejumper rushing through the bedlam to find new targets and ground data. At some point Smokejumper and his cohort were captured by their Autobot foes and thrown into the slammer - this being a penal colony some distance from Cybertron proper. Here they were left to rot until they could reform... a rather optimistic goal for their captors. They did not have much time to rust, however, for they rode out on the coat-tails of Scourge's jail break. This villain, recently captured by Autobots on earth, wasn't about to rot in jail and escaped with the aid of his new pal Bludgeon. Seeing an opportunity, Smokejumper took it. And of course brought his pal Dreadwind along. Though Scourge is in the process of building his own splinter group, the Destructicons, Smokejumper and Dreadwind are hanging with him partly out of gratitude - and partly because they have nothing better to do...
