Origin: Like the rest of his fellow Predacons, Cryotek is an electromechanical being from Cybertron, an evil robot that has, with his compatriots, waged a war against the heroic Autobots in a bid to conquer the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth. Known Powers: Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Predacons, Cryotek is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this ice cold warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Cryotek these super human powers: * Armor Skin: like most Cybertronians, Cryotek was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Excellent (20) resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows: Ex 20 / Ty 6 / Fe 2 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 * Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Due to his significant height in his humanoid mode, Cryotek has this power via technicality; he may very well grow somewhat while transforming, but doesn't appear to do so. According to the standard Growth rules, Cryotek has this power at Excellent (20) rank, making him stand approximately sixteen feet tall. Since his Strength rank is higher, this offers him no combat benefit, but on the other hand, human-sized folks targeting Cryotek receive a +1 CS to hit him in battle. The Ultimate Powers Book, on the other hand, gives Cryotek this power at Typical (6) rank, making him out to be just under three times a normal human's size. This would grant the icy Predacon a +1 CS to the Strength score listed above (raising it to Amazing (50)), and add 10 points to his Health score. Now, according to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, Cryotek's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +1 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth). Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Cryotek has a +1 size factor. As such, he inflicts +1 CS damage vs normal human opponents, and has 1 CS of Damage Reduction against them. On the other hand, he is at a -1 CS to hit them in combat, while they receive a +1 CS to hit him. * Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Cryotek is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances. * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche. * Radio Transceiver: as are most all Transformers on earth, Cryotek is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Decepticon or Predacon on earth, having Excellent (20) range (25,000 miles). Battle Tail: when engaged in melee, yet not close enough to sink his claws and/or fangs into a foe, Cryotek can instead pummel him with his rather large tail. This tail allows him to inflict his Strength rank +1 CS in Blunt Attack damage, and he can reach anything within his area with it if necessary. Claws: on all four of Cryotek's limbs in his dragon form (and on his legs in his humanoid mode), these sharp talons can be used to lethal effect in melee. Cryotek can use these claws to inflict his Strength rank +1 CS in Edged Attack damage with each deadly swipe, though he prefers his cold attack, really. Cold Generation: Cryotek's most devastating ability, this power can be used to freeze even the most powerful opponents into submission. Fired from his maw in dragon mode (and left 'hand' in his humanoid form), this power takes the form of a chilling breath weapon, like a traditional dragon's. This blast can be used to coat an entire area (including everybody within it who fails to dodge) with ice of Incredible (40) material strength - and inflicts like Stunning Energy damage upon hitting a body. Of course, Cryotek can also just fire a ray of cold to inflict +1 CS damage to a single foe, as well. Fangs: while he has a battle tail and deadly talons, Cryotek is also possessed of a frightening maw filled to the brim with sharpened steel fangs - the better to tear his foes to shreds at close range. He can bite to inflict his Strength rank in Edged Attack damage, but can hang on to keep inflicting damage as well. Shapechange: his most notorious power, Cryotek has the ability to choose between three different forms: a humanoid, a dragon, and a bizarre 'dragon mobile'. This power is voice activated, however ('Cryotek, terrorize!'). His automotive mode has the following vehicular statistics: C S B P Am 50 Ex 20 Rm 30 Ex 20 Wings: finally, Cryotek is possessed of a pair of wings that appear to be built from elemental ice; they are steely, yet a translucent blue at the same time. He can use these powerful appendages to achieve flight, moving through the air with Typical (6) speeds (90 m.p.h.). Equipment: (none) Quirks: (none) Talents: Detective / Espionage: while he's not stealthy, per se, Cryotek has a knack for picking subtle details out of the environment around him, often helping him to learn the dark secrets of others. As such, when seeking out information of any type, he should receive a +1 CS to any applicable FEAT rolls. Contacts: As one of the Predacons, Cryotek can theoretically rely on Megatron or any of that villain's minions for assistance should he need it. However, he is rarely seen in conjunction with his fellows, usually off on some solo mission or another, so help is rarely in the coming for him when he needs it. Likeness: Cryotek, in his beast mode, resembles nothing more than an immense, blue dragon that appears to be built from ice and steel. In his humanoid mode, he appears to be constructed from various dragon bits, especially his legs and - the weird part - his 'dragon head' left arm. Personality: Cryotek is a quiet, shifty sort. He tends to skulk around on the edges of Transformer life, picking at that which his fellow Cybertronians have left behind or forgotten, and doing his best to use his finds against his foes to maximum effect. He's quite resourceful, though, and as such makes a great spy. Real Name: Cryotek Occupation: Predacon warrior Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron wanted by Earth authorities for various nefarious acts committed worldwide Marital Status: inapplicable Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Predacons Height: 16' (approximately), 32' long (approximately, in dragon mode) Hair: inapplicable Eyes: yellow Weight: several tons Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Cryotek is made of a strong, alien metal that is primarily blue (of various shades) in hue, adorned with steel plates and seeming ice regardless of his current form. Story: Most of Cryotek's background - like his present - is shrouded in mystery. However, at some point in his past, this mighty Predacon joined forces with Megatron, an amazingly powerful six-changer Transformer, and left his home of Cybertron with this master villain for earth. Though he told the people of earth he simply wanted their energy, Megatron was also searching out the location of the one and only Fortress Maximus, a vastly potent Autobot who he could use to take over the galaxy itself! However, he didn't want to tip off the Autobots who'd apparently beat him to this world. As such, he had to keep the Autobots busy, tearing up the planet and raiding it for energy sources while he sent Cryotek out looking for the massive battle platform. While his mission was a secret, Cryotek nonetheless ran afoul of the Autobots on occasion, not to mention anybody else that got in his way. Megatron ultimately found Fortress Maximus, though controlling the behemoth of a robot was a bit more challenging. Things came to a head after the villain was transformed into the diabolical Galvatron, and simply seized Maximus' power; this caused an all out battle with the Autobots - to the finish. Despite Galvatron's power, his minions were vastly outnumbered by the Autobots, and Galvatron himself fell before the might of Omega Prime's Matrix Blade. Once the fight was over, Galvatron and most all of his minions (including Cryotek) were shipped off the earth in Fortress Maximus. And delivered to a penal colony on an asteroid in the vicinity of Cybertron. Whether Cryotek will escape this prison or not has yet to be revealed, but he's quite the powerful - and resourceful - Predacon, so it's likely the world has not seen the last of this terrifying, draconic villain...!
