Origin: Like the rest of his fellow Predacons, Gas Skunk is an electromechanical being from Cybertron, an evil robot that has, with his compatriots, waged a war against the heroic Autobots in a bid to conquer the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth. Known Powers: Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Predacons, Gas Skunk is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this noxious warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Gas Skunk these super human powers: * Armor Skin: like most Cybertronians, Gas Skunk was manufactured (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Excellent (20) resistance to injury. While not as durable as some of the larger Predacons, like Sky-Bite, Gas Skunk is still rather resilient. Gas Skunk's defense breaks down as follows: Ex 20 / Ty 6 / Fe 2 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 * Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Thanks to the size of both his basic forms, Gas Skunk doesn't need to exert this control. However, in relation to human-sized beings, he technically has this power. According to the standard Growth rules, Gas Skunk has this power at Poor (4) rank, making him stand approximately nine feet tall. While this doesn't increase the damage that he inflicts against human-sized opponents, Gas Skunk's large size does allow such opponents a +1 CS to hit him. The Ultimate Powers Book, however, would rank this power at a mere Feeble (2) rank, giving him a similar height (being 150 % of the generic human size). Gas Skunk receives no bonus to the damage he dishes out to human-sized foes with the U.P.B. rules either, but then, they don't receive a plus to hit him. According to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, on the other hand, Gas Skunk's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +1 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth). Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Gas Skunk has a size factor of zero (0). As such, he receives no special bonuses or penalties when combating human-sized opponents thanks to his size alone. However, this does put him at a slight disadvantage against the Autobots... * Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Gas Skunk is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances. * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche. * Radio Transceiver: as are most all Transformers on earth, Gas Skunk is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Decepticon or Predacon on earth, having Excellent (20) range (25,000 miles). Claws: both of Gas Skunk's forms are armed with powerful claws with which he can tear his opponents to shreds. Regardless of which form he's currently in, Gas Skunk can use these claws to inflict his Strength rank +1 CS (Remarkable (30)) Edged Attack damage per deadly slash. Fangs: in his beast mode, Gas Skunk is armed with a very large pair of fangs with which to rend his foes into little itty bitty pieces. He can use these in battle to inflict his Strength rank (Excellent (20)) in Edged Attack damage with every bite; it's not stronger than mere brawling damage, just more deadly. Gas Skunk Attack: pretty much his namesake, this ability allows Gas Skunk to emit a foul, acidic gas from his mouth that covers up to an entire area. This gas inflicts Excellent (20) MB damage to whoever wanders into its billowing mass, and obscures regular vision with like intensity. However, an additional, little-known ability that Gas Skunk has is to emit a second form of gas, one that causes those who are exposed to it to have fits of uncontrollable laughter; this gas seems to affect organic and mechanical life forms equally well, and works against a foe's body at Excellent (20) rank. Infravision: Gas Skunk has the ability to see into the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, which comes in handy when setting up nocturnal ambushes or other attacks when others simply can't see clearly. He possesses this power at Excellent (20) rank, and can use it in both of his forms. Left Laser: part of the Predacons' field squad, Gas Skunk is armed with a left-shoulder mounted laser (concealed under a circular panel) that he usually uses in tandem with his compatriots. This laser can be used to inflict Excellent (20) Armor Piercing Energy damage per blast, +2 CS when used with the others. Shapechange: as can be guessed by looking at various parts of his anatomy, Gas Skunk has the power to transform into a large skunk, one seemingly built from a mix of organic and cybernetic bits. As he can use most of his powers in both shapes, Gas Skunk is equally at home in both of his forms. Skunk Tail Attack: Gas Skunk can use his serrated tail to strike his foes in either of his forms, inflicting his Strength rank +1 CS (Remarkable (30)) in Armor Piercing Edged Attack damage with every deadly strike. The extra claw grip on its end allows him to cut through materials of up to Unearthly (100) m.s. Time Bombs: while his left shoulder has his group-oriented beam weapon mounted within, Gas Skunk also has a secondary attack loaded into his right shoulder. Namely, he can fire time bombs from it that inflict Remarkable (30) Edged Attack damage to everybody within an area. These bombs can be set for any length of time that Gas Skunk desires. Equipment: (none) Quirks: (none) Talents: Demolitions: part of Gas Skunk's special place in the Predacons' ranks involves his blowing things up - and doing so spectacularly! Whenever attempting to destroy a vehicle, structure, or any other large object with either explosives or his special powers, Gas Skunk should receive a +1 CS to any necessary FEATs. Electronics: while he is equipped with a large variety of physical weaponry, Gas Skunk often resorts to the use of high tech devices in his various missions - more so than his fellow Predacons. That, and his skill with the innards of such devices, should give him a +1 CS on attempts to use or repair them. Natural Weapons: his primary combative skill, aside from his predisposition towards large, unspecified implements of destruction, this talent describes Gas Skunk's prowess in the use of his inherent physical weaponry, such as his claws and skunk tail attack, attacks he makes at a +1 CS. Contacts: As one of the Predacons, Gas Skunk can theoretically rely on any of Megatron's minions for assistance should he need it. However, he tends to work with Dark Scream and Slapper more than any of the others, and usually sides with Sky-Bite in any dispute between the Predacons and the Decepticons. Likeness: When in his skunk mode, Gas Skunk looks like a large, brown and orange robotic skunk, with chrome trim in various locations. In his robot form, he appears to be a similarly colored humanoid robot, one built from robotic skunk parts, and appears to wear a Sunfire-style red 'mask' on his face. Personality: Gas Skunk is apparently the 'dandy' of the Predacons, more flighty and prone to distraction than his many robotic compatriots. However, he is highly efficient in demolitions work, and truly enjoys rendering something a pile of smoking, twisted rubble - be it a building that stands in his way or an Autobot! Story: Gas Skunk is one of several Predacons in the service of Megatron, a powerful Cybertronian warrior that has journeyed to modern-day earth with designs on its bountiful supplies of energy. Exactly how Gas Skunk came to be in Megatron's service, as well as what time period he's actually from, is still a mystery. Regardless, he came to earth with Megatron and the other Predacons, only to find that the planet was lousy with Autobots; somehow, the heroic Cybertronians knew well in advance that Megatron and company were on their way, and had quite a lot of time to prepare for their arrival. Gas Skunk is a 'special operations' soldier, a Predacon not necessarily specialized in any one environment, unlike Slapper and Dark Scream. His more generalized abilities make him well suited for work in any locale, which allows him a little more 'wiggle room' for victory than his two 'side kicks'. This trio's missions mostly involve fetching some item (or items) for either Megatron or Sky-Bite, the Predacons' second in command. However, something almost always goes wrong with their schemes, and they usually fail outright - but Gas Skunk and company have had their fair share of successes, mind you. With the arrival of the Decepticons on the scene, Megatron made less and less use of his Predacons on earth. This has caused increasing tension between the two groups of evil Cybertronians, which came to a head when the Decepticon leader, Scourge, tried to bump Galvatron (an enhanced Megatron) off. After this, Gas Skunk and his fellow Predacons returned to their leader's good graces, though they were ultimately defeated in their bid to take control of the mightiest Autobot of all, Fortress Maximus. Captured after their defeat, the Predacons were locked up in an penal asteroid colony near Cybertron. Whether or not Gas Skunk can escape this imprisonment has yet to be revealed...
