* Amongst humans, at least. Mn +75 among Predacons / Decepticons, Mn -75 among Autobots.

Origin:

Like the rest of his fellow Predacons, Sky-Bite is an electromechanical being from Cybertron, an evil robot that has, with his compatriots, waged a war against the heroic Autobots in a bid to conquer the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth.

Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Predacons, Sky-Bite is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this multi-environment warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Sky-Bite these super human powers:

* Body Armor: like most Cybertronians, Sky-Bite was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him Excellent (20) resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows:

Ex 20 / Ty 6 / Fe 2 / Sh 0 / Sh 0

* Growth: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. Due to his significant height in his humanoid mode, Sky-Bite has this power via technicality; he may very well grow somewhat while transforming, but doesn't appear to do so.

According to the standard Growth rules, Sky-Bite has this power at Good (10) rank, making him stand approximately fifteen feet tall. Since his Strength rank is higher, this offers him no combat benefit, but on the other hand, human-sized folks targeting Sky-Bite receive a +1 CS to hit him in battle.

The Ultimate Powers Book, on the other hand, gives Sky-Bite this power at Poor (4) rank, making him out to be a bit over twice a normal human's size. This would grant the poetic Predacon a +1 CS to the Strength score listed above (raising it to Amazing (50)), and add 10 points to his Health score.

Now, according to the Transformers MSH Sourcebook, Sky-Bite's statistics are geared towards mixing it up with beings of like size. As such, when fighting folks of normal human size, he should receive a +1 CS to the damage he inflicts upon them (+1 CS per 2 CS of growth).

Finally, per the Universal Heroes rules, Sky-Bite has a +1 size factor. As such, he inflicts +1 CS damage vs normal human opponents, and has 1 CS of Damage Reduction against them. On the other hand, he is at a -1 CS to hit them in combat, while they receive a +1 CS to hit him.

* Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Sky-Bite is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses this resistance at Class 1k rank versus organic pathogens, and at Unearthly (100) versus more chemically creative substances.

* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, this power lets them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche.

However, it should be noted that Sky-Bite is in fact possessed of telescopic vision that functions above and beyond that of regular Cybertronians. When he activates his enhanced telescopic vision, Sky-Bite can zoom in on objects up to 250 miles distant (having this power himself at Typical (6) rank).

* Radio Transceiver: as are most all Transformers on earth, Sky-Bite is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Cybertronian on earth, having Excellent (20) range (25,000 miles).

Blending: a rarely demonstrated power that Sky-Bite possesses is his ability to bend light around his form, which allows him to blend into his surroundings. This power functions at Monstrous (75) rank, allowing Sky-Bite to elude even Megatron's powerful sensors when he feels it necessary.

Fangs: in both of his forms, Sky-Bite is possessed of fangs. He rarely uses those in his humanoid form, which allow him to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee, but he can use his shark-mode fangs to inflict his Strength rank +1 CS in Edged Attack damage, working against objects of up to Unearthly (100) m.s.

Flight: Sky-Bite has the ability to defy gravity in both of his modes. While he can only levitate in his humanoid mode, he can actually 'swim' through the air in his shark form. This power functions at Monstrous (75) rank, allowing Sky-Bite to fly at up to 450 miles per hour.

Holographic Projection: while Sky-Bite's visual receptors are usually tuned to absorb information from the area around him, they can also be used to project visual information in front of him. This Good (10) ranked light system can project anything within Sky-Bite's memory, up to ten feet distant.

Penetration Vision: in addition to the enhanced telescopic vision unit mounted in his right eye, Sky-Bite can also use powerful penetration vision in order to spy what might be behind a solid object, such as a wall or even a highway overpass. This sensory power functions at Monstrous (75) rank.

Shape Change: whenever he desires, Sky-Bite can transform between his humanoid and flying shark mode, and often does so quickly in battle to maximize the use of his abilities. This power is voice-activated, however ('Sky-Bite, Terrorize!'). It should be noted that Sky-Bite is equally at home in both of his forms.

Shark Missiles: Sky-Bite can use this weapon in either of his modes; in his shark mode, it is a throat-mounted launcher that fires projectiles from his mouth, while in his humanoid mode, it is a hand-held launcher. Regardless, it fires missiles (torpedoes if underwater) that have these capabilities:

Shark Spike (Anchor Arm): in his humanoid mode, Sky-Bite's left arm is comprised of an oversized (compared to his right arm) device that has, instead of five digits, four rather large blades. He can use weapon to grasp particularly durable items, but it mostly comes in handy in melee attack.

You see, Sky-Bite can use this four-pronged spike to inflict his Strength rank in Edged Attack damage - though this damage is increased +1 CS when he rotates these blades at high speed. Furthermore, it is telescopic in nature, and Sky-Bite can strike anybody within two areas with this powerful weapon.

Super Swimming: in his shark mode, Sky-Bite can swim at truly impressive speeds underwater. He can do so at Unearthly (100) rank - achieving speeds of up to 180 miles per hour beneath the waves. This mobility makes Sky-Bite the undisputed king of underwater combat amongst the Predacons.

Tsunami Blaster: his primary ranged weapon, this chest-mounted beam emitter issues forth an energy blast of indeterminate type, one which can nonetheless inflict Amazing (50) Energy damage to whatever Sky-Bite trains it on; this is enough to give even the Autobots pause in combat.

Tunneling: in both of his modes, Sky-Bite has the ability to tunnel through solid ground. In his shark mode, he can simply 'swim' through the earth, doing so with Remarkable (30) speed (90 m.p.h.), though this tunnel caves in immediately after he pushes his way through it.

However, when in his humanoid mode, Sky-Bite can build a much more durable tunnel with his shark spike. While he can only progress through solid ground at Feeble (2) speeds (15 m.p.h.), this tunnel will last for quite a while after he creates it, thus allowing others to use it with him.

Water Freedom: it probably goes without saying, but in his shark mode, Sky-Bite should receive the full benefit of this super-human power, allowing him to move under the waves just as deftly as he can above them. Since his body is streamlined to achieve this benefit, it shouldn't result in above-water penalties.

Talents:

Artist / Poetry: Sky-Bite fancies himself a poet, and enjoys composing new haiku and other works of literary 'genius', especially when putting the beat-down on Autobots. He should gain ten Karma points for a week's worth of writing, or a like amount for a particularly good work of 'art'.

Targeting: while he may not have any real weapon skills, per se, Sky-Bite is nonetheless highly skilled in the use of his tsunami blaster, as well as other, like internal energy weapons (should he acquire more). When using such weapons in combat, he should receive a +1 CS to hit his foes.

Underwater Combat: his true area of expertise, this talent describes Sky-Bite's mastery of underwater battle - and when any foes should find themselves beneath the waves, woe be unto them! Whenever fighting underwater, Sky-Bite should receive a +1 CS to all combat-related FEAT rolls.

Contacts:

As one of the Predacons, Sky-Bite can theoretically rely on Megatron or any of his minions for assistance should he need it. Of course, none of the Decepticons seem to like Sky-Bite very much, and the Predacons only seem to work with him and his hare-brained schemes out of a sense of necessity.

Likeness:

When he's in his flying shark mode, Sky-Bite appears to be a proportionally sized shark built from blue, white, and chrome-colored metals - one with piercing red eyes. However, when he transforms into his robot form, Sky-Bite appears to be a regally-styled humanoid built from various artificial shark parts.

Personality:

Sky-Bite is an incredibly intelligent, yet equally inept Predacon. He is constantly cooking up new schemes with which to defeat the Autobots, or to steal earth's various energy resources. However, while his plans are occasionally brilliant, he always seems to miss one minor detail that ruins everything.

Sky-Bite is truly loyal to Megatron, a very rare quality amongst the evil Predacons, being truly content to be his master's right hand 'bot. At the same time, this Cybertronian is the ultimate sycophant, and tends to expend lavish amounts of flattery upon Megatron - or whoever's in authority at a given moment.

Finally, Sky-Bite has demonstrated a modicum of sympathy for humans - at least, human children. He has a hard time refusing any sort of plea for help or assistance from them, and in fact finds himself confounded by the little things; unlike his fellow Predacons, he seems to actually like kids.

Story:

Sky-Bite is one of several Predacons in the service of Megatron, a powerful Cybertronian warrior that has journeyed to modern-day earth with designs on its bountiful supplies of energy. Exactly how Sky-Bite came to be in Megatron's service, as well as what time period he's actually from, is still a mystery.

Regardless, he came to earth with Megatron and the other Predacons only to find that the planet was lousy with Autobots, as the heroic Cybertronians had somehow learned that Megatron and company were on their way, and had lots of time to prepare a warm welcome for them.

Sky-Bite isn't the Predacons' second in command for nothing; this powerful warrior can move equally well through land, sea, and air, and can thus sneak up on the Autobots virtually anywhere to do battle with them. While an expert in underwater combat, he's happy to fight in any environment.

Sky-Bite is usually in charge of Dark Scream, Gas Skunk, and Slapper, and often directs them in various plots to either steal the earth's energy or to deal with the Autobots in some hostile capacity. Of course, when something goes wrong with his plans, Sky-Bite usually deflects the blame to his underlings.

This set-up worked out well for Sky-Bite until the Decepticons arrived on the scene, which has caused Megatron to utilize his Predacons less and less. This has caused quite a lot of competition between Sky-Bite and Scourge for Megatron's attention, though Scourge's aims are much more dangerous.

You see, while Sky-Bite simply wishes to retain his role as Megatron's second in command, Scourge wishes to attain conquest for himself; his plans have no room for Megatron's continued existence. Sky-Bite and the other Predacons are unaware of this, though, and wouldn't do well if Scourge wins in the end.

After all, the Decepticons and the Predacons don't seem to get along very well. This situation came to a head when Scourge thought he'd taken control of the mighty Fortress Maximus, and tried to use the Autobot to slay Megatron - who had since transformed into the even more powerful Galvatron.

This gambit failed, and for his punishment, Scourge has his memories wiped clean. Though he considered him incompetent, Megatron nonetheless put the freshly wiped Scourge - and his Decepticon thugs - under Sky-Bite's command, at least until the villain was finally defeated by Omega Prime.

Once this occurred, the Autobots rounded up all of the Predacons and Decepticons on earth, and shipped them back to a penal colony near Cybertron - all save for Sky-Bite, of course. Having the foresight to take off as Galvatron was beaten, Sky-Bite managed to vanish from the face of the earth.

Once the Autobots left earth, Sky-Bite no longer had anything to fear - from any other Cybertronian - much less anyone to tell him what to do. As such, he has seemingly settled into a life of peaceful coexistence with humankind, not a hard thing for him, really, since he gets on with humans so well...
