Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique:
as are the rest of the Vehicons (whether they be fully sentient or mere drones), Obsidian is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this versatile aerial combatant has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this, including the following:

* Body Armor: like most Cybertronians, Obsidian was built with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him +2 resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots (taking his Strength into consideration).

* Enhanced Senses / Microscopic + Telescopic Vision: all Transformers can alter their visual sensitivity as is necessary, where distance is concerned. Functioning at intensity 2, these powers let them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche.

* Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins: like all robots, Obsidian is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses complete immunity to organic pathogens, and a 'mere' +10 resistance to other, more chemically creative substances.

* Size Alteration: most Cybertronians have some degree of control over their size, no matter what form they take. The trick with Obsidian, though, is that he's larger in his vehicular mode than he is in his humanoid form; his V-22 Osprey mode is 57 foot long, while his humanoid form is 'but' eighteen foot tall.

This power is bound in Obsidian's case by the Growth Only and Permanent limitations, meaning that Obsidian is always 18 foot tall in his humanoid mode. Due to his size, Obsidian possesses this power at intensity 6, and while it's permanent, the requisite Strength and Agility changes are not applied.

This since his foes often vary in size considerably; the Autobots are not all die-cast from the same mold. For the sake of simplicity, one could just apply those alterations and call it a day, or he may go for accuracy and vary them based on the size of his current opponent; whichever works for your game.

'Bunker Buster' Missiles: Obsidian has a small supply of heavy duty missiles that are designed to penetrate deep - about a half a mile - into the surface of a planet in order to strike underground complexes. These missiles inflict intensity 15 damage upon whatever they manage to strike.

Chin Turret: to complement his primary machine gun banks, Obsidian also has an additional machine gun turret mounted under his Osprey mode's cockpit. This gun can fire a short burst of ammunition to inflict +6 physical damage, or +7 damage in a full-auto spread.

Energy Blades: being quasi-solid energy constructs, Obsidian's rotor blades aren't subject to long-term wear and tear; to fix any damage inflicted upon them, he can just flick them off and on again. They can also be fired at an opponent to inflict intensity 14 energy damage (15 if both are fired).

Flight / Levitation: in his vehicle mode, Obsidian can either fly or hover thanks to his tilt-rotor configuration. He can levitate or fly with intensity 8 speed, reaching a top speed of 115 mph in 'helicopter' mode, or 361 mph in his 'airplane' mode - and can switch between modes almost instantly.

Obsidian can also move at his 'helicopter' mode speed in his humanoid form.

Machine Gun Hands: working as side-mounted weapon pods in his Osprey mode and his fingers in his humanoid form, these two banks of five machine guns comprise Obsidian's most dangerously effective offensive capability - few vehicles can withstand their prolonged attention.

He can fire a short burst of ammunition from one of these gun banks at a foe to inflict +6 physical damage, or a full-auto spread from all five guns to raise this damage to +7. Furthermore, he can fire both banks at once, raising the above damage ratings to either +7 or +8 (!), respectively.

Shapeshifting: perhaps his most notorious power, Obsidian has the ability to transform between his humanoid form and that of an advanced tilt-rotor aircraft strongly resembling an Osprey. He can make this transformation at will, though it is visually activated (Obsidian, transform!).

Equipment:

Vehicon Drones:
in addition to all of his own, personal armaments, Obsidian (for a time) had access to a small army of drones that resembled him in appearance. Non-sentient, these lesser versions of himself could be used to quickly acquire dominance of the skies above any world, even Cybertron.

Consider these drones -2 (in all ability/power scores) versions of Obsidian himself, though they are not very smart; they can be given simple or complex directions as one sees fit, but creative thinking escapes them (zero (0) edge), and they can be quickly confounded if left to their own devices for any long period of time...!

Hindrances:

(none)

Skills:

Aerial Combat:
his primary function in his new, Megatron-granted form, Obsidian has quickly learned how to fight to deadly effect while in the air. When doing battle in an airborne state, Obsidian should receive a reduction in the difficulty of any offensive or defensive combat action required of him.

Intimidation: in addition to his understanding of military principles, Obsidian knows the mind of the warrior - and those who would rather not be. He can use this knowledge to powerful effect, intimidating foes even before they physically see him, and crushing their morale in no time flat.

Military: Obsidian was a tactician and combatant of legendary status even before Megatron transformed him into one of his evil Vehicons. He naturally understands the military mindset, and can easily concoct and execute battle plans under almost any circumstance - even while under heavy fire.

Calling:

Guardian,
then Demolisher: while he was a Maximal, Obsidian wanted nothing more than to protect Cybertron from any threat. Once he'd been turned to Megatron's cause, though, and adopted a Vehicon form, Obsidian learned to truly enjoy the thrill of combat - and the destruction of his foes.

Likeness:

In his vehicle mode, Obsidian resembles a heavily armed, 'Cybertronized' V-22 Osprey, a tilt-rotor aircraft capable of both a helicopter and aircraft configuration - decorated in the various brown colors of a 'desert' camouflage scheme. His humanoid mode resembles a 'bot built from spare Osprey parts.

Personality:

Obsidian is a bad, bad person. He willfully delights in the carnage and destruction he causes in the name of the Vehicon cause, and is rather sadistic when doing so. He especially enjoys playing powerful symphonic music while on (or above) the battlefield for dramatic effect - and to intimidate foes.

While he can snap into violence with a moment's notice - and do so gleefully, Obsidian tends to get somewhat docile outside of battle. He tends to just fly aimlessly (and serenely) for hours, possibly a hint of his former Maximal personality; however, this has yet to be revealed.

Story:

Obsidian's story is a rather... complicated one. He was originally a Maximal, one who hailed from an era hundreds of years in advance of our own - and from the planet of Cybertron as well. A legendary combatant and tactician, Obsidian was, along with his consort, Strika, charged with Cybertron's defense.

While he was more than adept at handling conventional threats to the planet's safety, Obsidian was overwhelmed by the sheer, maniacal brilliance that Megatron possessed. This mad genius, you see, had crafted a virus that had struck almost every Maximal and Predacon on Cybertron.

Captured after this virus debilitated them, Obsidian and Strika became convinced that Megatron was now the essence of Cybertron, and decided to serve him willingly as his new, Vehicon generals. Obsidian's form became that of an advanced, tilt-rotor aircraft resembling an earth-made V-22 Osprey (more or less).

In this form, Obsidian fought the various Maximal survivors he encountered, doing so either alone or with a horde of drones similar to his own form at his beck and call. It was a hard fight for him, though, as the leader of the Maximals, Optimus Primal, discovered Obsidian's new allegiance and called him on it.

Though he and Strika almost switched sides on more than one occasion, they ultimately stayed loyal to Megatron, up until the point that they were blasted into space during the final attack on Megatron's power base, which ultimately saw him (and Optimus) killed in a battle to the finish.

What exactly happened to Obsidian and Strika after they were disposed of has yet to be revealed, but they were fated to eventually return to a Cybertron transformed, changed into a truly techno-organic world. At some time either before or after this would occur, though, Obsidian found himself thrust into time.

The means by which this happened has yet to be revealed, but he nonetheless wound up in the modern day alongside a different Megatron. Regardless of how he got here, Obsidian is still a ruthless villain, and has been found working with the Decepticons under Megatron's direction from time to time.

This villain was ultimately defeated, as was the Megatron that Obsidian originally served, and he was presumably captured and returned to Cybertron along with that evil 'bot's legions of underlings. How this will affect Obsidian's troubled life is as of yet unknown, as is his ultimate fate...!
