Powers:
Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Vehicons, Scavenger is a robotic entity of Cybertronian design and origin. As such, this incredibly tough combatant has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Scavenger these powers:
* Body Armor (s): like most Cybertronians, Scavenger was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him +5 resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots (taking Strength into consideration).
* Growth (a): most Cybertronians have a degree of control over their size, no matter their form. Due to his significant height in his humanoid mode, Scavenger has this power via technicality; he may very well grow somewhat while transforming, but doesn't appear to do so.
This power is bound in Scavenger's case by the Permanent limitation, meaning that Scavenger is always 15 foot tall in his humanoid mode. Due to his size, Scavenger possesses this power at intensity 3, and while it's permanent, the requisite Strength and Agility changes are not applied.
This since his foes often vary in size considerably; the Autobots are not all die-cast from the same mold. For the sake of simplicity, one could just apply those alterations and call it a day, or he may go for accuracy and vary them based on the size of his current opponent; whichever works for your game.
* Invulnerability to Disease and Toxins (s): like all robots, Scavenger is highly resistant to diseases and poisons that would kill organic beings. He possesses complete immunity to organic pathogens, and a 'mere' +10 resistance to other, more chemically creative substances.
* Microscopic + Telescopic Vision (w): all Transformers can alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at intensity 2, these powers let them see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing them to read items on microfiche.
* Radio Transceiver (i): as are most all Transformers on earth, Scavenger is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Cybertronian, having intensity 10 power (25,000 mile range).
Galva-conductors (s): Scavenger, in his robot mode, has this device mounted on his back. It allows him to channel electrical current into his hands, which he can use to inflict +2 energy damage on touch, instead of 'just' punching something.
Laser Cannon (a): in both modes, Scavenger has access to a powerful, rotary barreled laser cannon. He can fire this weapon to inflict his Agility +8 energy damage with each deadly blast, and can keep firing indefinitely if he so chooses.
Missile Launcher (i): Scavenger can also make use of a brace of missiles in either mode. He only has two handy per load, but he can fire each of these projectiles to inflict intensity 11 damage, raised by +1 if he hits a target with both simultaneously.
Shape Change (a): his most notorious ability, this power allows Scavenger to transform his humanoid form into that of a half-track Cybertronian demolition vehicle! Scavenger's vehicular mode is slow though, capable of only intensity 2 Lightning Speed (45 m.p.h.).
Equipment:
(none)
Hindrances:
(none)
Skills:
Boxing (s): Scavenger takes a simple approach to combat. He lacks fine moves or any esoteric Cybertronian fighting style, but excels in simply hitting things as hard as he can. He may divide his pre-cardplay attack score between two attacks, the second occurring as a contingent action.
Demolitions (a): while he works alongside the Build Team, Scavenger isn't really cut out for the creation of beautiful new works. On the other hand, he's a natural where tearing things apart is concerned, and should receive a reduced difficulty when attempting to demolish anything.
Calling:
Demolisher, with a secondary calling of Soldier: it should probably go without saying that Scavenger lives to wreck stuff. He aims to be heroic and live up to the faith that Optimus Primal has put into him though, so he doesn't wreck things unless told to do so.
Likeness:
In his alternate mode, Scavenger has the appearance of an advanced, half-track Cybertronic demolitions vehicle of blue hue with white trim. When he transforms into his humanoid shape, Scavenger looks like a robot built from the carcass of a stripped blue construction vehicle.
Personality:
Scavenger likes to wreck stuff. His sole purpose in his original incarnation, this freshly sparked Autobot retains a large portion of his original programming to that effect. He's good at tearing things apart, and enjoys little else as much.
Real Name: Scavenger
Occupation: construction worker (though more on the demolition side of things)
Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron with no known criminal record, either there or on earth
Marital Status: inapplicable
Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: the Autobots, former Vehicon drone
Height: 15'
Hair: inapplicable
Eye: blue
Weight: several tons
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Scavenger is composed of a powerful alien metal that is primarily blue in hue, with a considerable amount of white trim scattered across his body, regardless of which form he currently occupies. Note that his rear wheels are painted with the Vehicon symbol, despite his Autobot allegiance.
Story:
A long time ago, in an era that has yet to come to pass, a diabolical villain known as Megatron (though he wasn't the first to bear that name) conquered the world of Cybertron. Wielding a powerful mechanoid virus, Megatron stripped the world of all organic life in one fell swoop.
Save for a few Maximals that were hot on his trail, but arrived too late to stop the former Predacon - and now leader of the Vehicons faction - from taking over. To enforce his rule, Megatron built a wide variety of Vehicon drones, which his lieutenants could use to do his bidding.
One such line of Vehicon drones were the Scavengers, which resembled alien construction vehicles - and could transform into powerful humanoids when necessary. The purpose of the Scavengers was to wreck things, tearing apart structures and anything else that got in their way.
Megatron was ultimately defeated by his eternal foe, Optimus Primal, who died in the same conflict. However, Primal's very spark continued on after the demise of his mortal shell, and it felt itself drawn into the past, where several other time traveling Cybertronians were at work.
Optimus Primal thus followed them into the past, bringing some backup along for the ride. This included the morally ambivalent Mirage (who began calling himself Mirage GT, to distinguish himself from another Mirage active in that era), along with several Vehicons.
One of these was an inert Scavenger drone. Presenting himself and his former Vehicon enemies to Optimus Prime, who himself was here from his own future, Primal saw to it that Optimus used his Matrix to give both of his soul-less Vehicon drones sparks - Autobot sparks!
Doing so, Scavenger was born. Taking his name from the his model designation given to him by (his) Megatron, Scavenger went to work for the Autobots. Though he is now sentient and free-willed, Scavenger's behavior is still determined by his original programming to some extent.
He's not evil or anything, mind you, he just lives to wreck things - anything. Seeing this, Optimus put him at the disposal of the Build Team, the Autobots' resident construction sub-team. These guys like to build new things, but often when doing so they have to tear down the old first.
And that's when they call Scavenger - who sets to with ridiculous glee. Mind you, when he's not at work doing demolition for the Build Team, Scavenger is often fighting the Decepticons in some capacity or another. After all, his allies won't complain if he tears them to bits...!
Notes:
There is no actual information about Scavenger in any of the Robots in Disguise product literature, or anywhere else for that matter. Being a Vehicon repaint, who even has Vehicon symbols here and there, I have tied his story into that of the 'ghost' of Optimus Primal.
I used the tech specs of Beast Machines Scavenger as a foundation for this fellow, though keep in mind there is nothing 'canonical' here - this is as close as I could get to 'official' with nothing to point me in the right direction. Use this description or not as you see fit.
