AceTone Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 5c 8d 8d 8c Hand Size: 3 (17) Edge: 1 Powers: Natural Psi Powers (metapsionic): Adrenal Surge (t) (w): Yuki's sole natural psi power, this ability manifested within her at an early age. It allows her to increase her ordinary Strength by amazing levels, boosting her score up to 15. Normally this power works for an aura duration, but in Yuki's case it works a bit... differently. You see, when she activates this power, Yuki's Intellect score drops by an amount equal to the increase in her Strength. While this is rather disadvantageous (particularly if she grows too dim to turn the power off), this strange quirk is being studied by Mindwatch, to see if it can be developed in others... Trained Psi Powers (metapsionic): Shapechange (a) (a): upon joining Mindwatch, Yuki decided to master the discipline of power she was born into, and learned how to change her shape at her leisure. She can assume different forms with intensity 8 skill, though she cannot, with this power, alter her inherent mass or power set any. Mass Anchor (s) (s): this metapsi skill allows Yuki to suddenly, dramatically increase her mass as is necessary, with up to intensity 14 ability, in response to external stimuli. In other words, she can provide up to ten tons of resistance to any force attempting to move her (like telekinetic manipulations, etc...). Energy Absorption (a) (i): Yuki can absorb intensity 8 amounts of energy, meaning she can take in like points of energy at one time, and store it within her body. She can use this energy to replenish lost Health, or to make boosts to her physical ability scores that are single-use in nature. Mass (t) (s): this handy metapsi talent allows Yuki to alter her mass. Working at intensity 6, it allows her to decrease her mass by 30%, or multiply it by 36 - for a total weight of 3,960 lbs. This comes in real handy when assuming larger forms with her shapechange power... Resistance 1 (s) (s): while maintaining this metapsi skill, Yuki gains +9 resistance to any attack form she has studied. She began with a resistance to fire, but has gained electricity and psi bolts as power stunts, each of which counts as one maintained power when in use. Equipment: Baseball Bat (s): made from remarkably durable Invium, a m.s. 20 material, this metal implement allows Yuki to inflict her Strength rank +2 in physical damage in melee, if she's currently smart enough to remember she has it; her Adrenal Boost power tends to mess that up some...! Hindrances: (none) Skills: Boxing (s): though she usually prefers to wield her invium baseball bat in combat, Yuki has learned how to fight weaponless - you never know when some telekinetic will swipe her toy. She can divide her pre-cardplay action score between two unarmed attacks, the last of which occurs as a contingent action. Clubs (s): as was the case with her psionic combat talent, this skill was chosen by Yuki to better take advantage of her power set - it increases her ability to smash others. When wielding baseball bats, or other club-like objects, Yuki may do so at one difficulty lower than is usually necessary. Languages / English, French and Japanese (i): in addition to being a famous fitness competitor, Yuki is also somewhat good with languages. She can speak in all three of these languages, not to mention reading and writing, and she's contemplating learning a fourth as well! Psionic Combat (w): since her powers are primarily physical in nature, Yuki has paid special attention to the art of fighting with psi powers. As such, she can reduce the difficulty of any Strength or Agility action called for by the use of psi powers, whether it be her power or when folks use their own powers on Yuki. Sports / Fitness (a): more than just a mere gym bunny, Yuki has trained for years in the fine art of perfecting her physical form, stretching it as far as it could go without the use of her psi powers; the idea was that if her body was perfect before using powers, imagine its efficiency when doing so...! Trance (w): finally, Yuki has learned how to drop her body into a nigh-deceased state, one where her heart and respiratory rates drop to nearly nil. She can do this to meditate deeply or to fake her own death, the latter of which requires an average difficulty Willpower (intellect) action to fool others. Calling: Responsibility of Power: Yuki didn't ask for her powers at first, but having them nonetheless, she decided to master them to prevent them from causing harm to others due to her inexperience. Now that she's done so, Yuki uses them to help other psis in need when possible, and is rather good at it. Costume: Yuki usually wears a stretch fabric costume due to the size changes she experienced due to the use of her natural psi power. It consists of a black pair of Spandex ™ shorts, a black Spandex ™ tank top, black leather boots, and her Mindwatch holographic badge, held on a thin white belt. Personality: Yuki is an upbeat, easy-going, and enlightened young lady. While she strives for physical perfection, she does this for personal satisfaction, and not to impress anybody else. Her powers have allowed her to shatter all her physical preconceptions of other beings, and she only judges others by their actions. The only problem this smart young woman has is when she uses her natural psi power - her Reason shrinks by an amount equal to her increase in Strength. As such, she tries not to max out her power, for fear of growing too dim-witted to turn it off, and remaining an over-muscled idiot... Real Name: Yuki Haiku Occupation: professional fitness model, professional vigilante Legal Status: citizen of Japan with no known criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: Mindwatch, former member of the Posse Pillory Height: 5' 3" Hair: black Eyes: brown Weight: 120 lbs Other Distinguishing Characteristics: other than being in amazingly good shape, none. Story: Yuki Haiku is a young Japanese woman who was noticed by Mindwatch operatives after an explosive public display of her suddenly manifesting, natural psi power in school one day. Nobody seemed to realize that it was Yuki who was thrashing about the place in a manic rage, thankfully. Sending in a crack team of experienced operatives, the Mindwatch hierarchy managed to collect Yuki before she could do any permanent damage (nobody died, in other words), and neutralized her powers until such a time as she could learn to use them without causing so much havoc. This took a short while, during which time Yuki decided that if she had the natural power to increase her strength, it could only be amplified if she was in the best possible physical shape she could be. This idea morphed a bit over time, when Yuki abandoned strength training for aerobic fitness. This still helped her to build up her endurance, though, and the intense physical training helped her to come to terms with her power. When this was finally done, a few days after she'd graduated from high school, Yuki was invited to join Mindwatch as a student of the mental arts - a metapsi, to be precise. Seeing the ability to greatly enhance her natural powers, not to mention having an opportunity to help out those who came to her in her hour of need, Yuki readily agreed. She then began training intensely with Mindwatch's best instructors, and learned all the talents she needed to get started. Soon after, Yuki began to master one metapsi power after another, and seems to be one of the group's fastest learners, due to master the metapsi discipline of power in no time. She also proved to be a very capable operative, as long as someone points her in the right direction while at maximum strength. She lost some standing in Mindwatch after she participated in the Seven Dimensional Man's revenge gig against Stone Cold, however. He conned her into going to maximum strength, and managed to maintain her at that state for three weeks, during which time she was more than eager to do whatever he asked. This involved getting into a brawl with various super-human vigilantes in a massive public display of power that trashed several stories of an upscale penthouse apartment building in New York City, an action which Mindwatch is still trying to bury to this very day... it's difficult work. While they know Yuki wasn't responsible for her actions, they nonetheless turned out to be a black eye on the group's agenda, and Yuki knows it. As such, she's working harder than ever to make amends, while at the same time maintaining her career as a professional fitness athlete / model. Not that she needs the job, what with Mindwatch paying its operatives rather generously. Yuki just does it to show off her hard work. While she only works to become perfectly fit to attain personal gratification, Yuki figures that it can't hurt to actually make money off all the effort she's made the last few years...
