Origin:

Like the other members of Mindwatch, Andy is a psi - a human who engages in the practice of psionics. The circumstances of his study's beginnings have also seen his life force elevated beyond the mortal, and thus Andy can also be considered a demigod.

Known Powers:

Natural Psionics (Theonic Powers):

Apotheosis (a): his divine spark awakened before he began studying theonics proper, Andy technically mastered this power first. It has elevated him to the status of demigod, and gives him one 'spare' life thus far - a nice buffer should his revival power fail him.

Revival (a): upon his demise, Andy's body will automatically attempt to restore itself to a condition that can sustain his life force - even before he expends a 'life' upon being slain! Sadly though, he cannot spend Fortune on ACTs with this rank value 40 power.

Trained Psionics (Theonic Powers, Traditional Student):

Awe (t): this theonic allows Andy to radiate an aura of deific presence, one that generally causes mortals within Very Near distance to stop what they're doing - and be awed! This works if said mortals fail a Willpower ACT against this rank value 30 power.

Fortuity (s): thanks to this handy skill (which he maintains at all times), Andy stands outside the forces of fate. As such, he can sidestep the use of powers like danger sense or even precognition, and resists powers like omnipotence, with rank value 30 ability.

Nature Resistance (t): Andy is rather well protected from mundane, random phenomenon. When faced with natural events, such as bad weather, a magma flow, or even an animal attack, Andy should benefit from rank value 30 protection from said assaults.

Theonic Sense (s): the better to detect entities with a similarly (or even greater) evolved life force, Andy has mastered this theonic skill. It lets him spot divine entities, deific artifacts and the servants of the gods with rank value 30 ability.

Signature Power (a): Deion's deific profile is that of personal perfection. He's used this to develop an extremely enhanced version of the ability boost power that functions at rank value 50 - and may be used four times before each 'step' of cool-down is invoked.

Limitations / Enhancements:

Susceptibility: As a demigod, Andy enjoys a large degree of protection from permanent death. However, he can be slain permanently if killed by a being of equal or greater divine standing, if slain on his home plane, or even if subject to full bodily disintegration.

Equipment:

Spear: Andy has taken to carrying a spear with him as a token of his godhood; spears are one of the oldest weapons in existence, or somesuch. His personal spear is made from m.v. 100 metals, and can be used to inflict his Brawn rank in Slashing damage (whether in melee or if thrown).

Quirks:

Unpleasant Habits: being at the cusp of immortality has not stopped Andy from smoking. He's what some people might call a 'chain smoker', and is constantly puffing on cigarettes no matter how inappropriate the situation may be; those who hate smoke react to him at a -2 RS.

Skills:

Martial Arts styles A and B: Andy is well-trained in the use of the martial arts - his signature power makes these quite devastating. He can inflict Pound or Concuss results regardless of the differences in Brawn or Fortitude between him and his foe, and gains a +1 RS in unarmed melee.

Psychology / Sociology: his original career path, this skill represents Andy's understanding of human behavior - and explains why he hates people so. He should receive a +1 RS on any ACT required when attempting to understand a body's motives - or maybe to predict their actions.

Skill / Spear: since he's sort of using it as a personal totem, Andy has learned how to wield a spear effectively - even if he thinks it a wee bit barbaric. He can handle a spear in melee at his Melee score +1 RS, or throw it with considerable range at his Coordination score +1 RS.

Trance: as are all Mindwatch students, Andy has been trained in the fine art of 'playing possum'. He can enter an intense trance that allows him to bring his autonomic functions to a virtual halt, effectively looking deceased unless someone detects a falsehood (Awareness ACT to detect).

Contacts:

As a member of Mindwatch, Andy can rely upon them for assistance should he need it - at least, theoretically. He's not a nice guy, and tends to rub folks the wrong way. You never know when a request for assistance might 'get lost in the paperwork'.

Costume:

Andy isn't big on costumes - even when working in an official Mindwatch capacity. He normally goes for a nice pair of leather boots with a pointy tip, a pair of broken in blue jeans, and a white T-shirt, usually with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in one of the sleeves.

Personality:

Andy's a jerk. He hates people, and (much to his chagrin) knows all too well what makes them tick. He delights in showcasing his superiority in all aspects of life, which is odd considering that he's not all that smart, really. Unfortunately, he has the power to back up his bad attitude...

Real Name: Andy Warhol Darret
Occupation: would-be deity, occasional mercenary
Legal Status: citizen of the United States with no known criminal record
Marital Status: divorced
Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: Mindwatch, Extra Solar Enterprises

Height: 6' 4"
Hair: brown, graying
Eyes: brown
Weight: 190 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Andy has a long, wiry look to him. Of course, the man is almost unnaturally well-toned, looking like he's some sort of anatomical diagram of musculature instead of a real human being, but that's a product of his signature power.

Story:

Andy's life is a long list of failures. He went to school to get a degree in sociology, but couldn't get a high-paying job as a statistician like most sociologists - no, he had to do actual social work. And this is where he developed his strong disdain for the human race.

Several years of unfulfilling work for veritable peanuts made Andy very unhappy, and his marriage fell apart as a result. A broken man, Andy got his affairs in order and prepared to jump from the nearest national landmark, but was stopped in the process by a strange man.

This fellow, a bizarrely garbed Chinese man, sensed something great festering within Andy's surly spirit, and implored him to reconsider his actions. Andy scoffed at this, feeling he had nothing to live for, but this stranger convinced Andy to make a rather curious bargain with him.

He would watch Andy leap to his self-imposed doom, but if Andy survived, he would come with the man and learn the true secrets of the universe. Thinking this a joke, Andy agreed, and leapt off George Washington's nose at Mt. Rushmore, unaware of what this guy was doing.

As Andy sailed through the air, this stranger activated the divine spark of life within him, and when Andy hit the ground he didn't die. Well he did, but then he got better. When an incredulous Andy woke up, he saw this stranger sitting next to him in the lotus position, grinning like a loon.

Having seen that Andy had the potential to do great things, this stranger awakened his potential and, with this done, took him to his allies in Mindwatch to train him in his new, theonic heritage. Having seen the benefits of his new found divinity first hand, Andy had no problem with this.

He spent many many years within the Mindwatch compound, learning quite a few theonic powers, and chose his immortal profile - that of personal perfection, in the form of his physical and mental abilities. He hadn't worked on gaining any followers yet, however.

He still hated people way too much for that, you see. Regardless, Andy decided to start making a name for himself, and as such went to use his powers in a very public way. This didn't quite go as planned, though, as he instead found himself working for Extra Solar Enterprises.

Another strange oddity in his life, E.S.E. is a company that uses super-human operatives to fetch items of power and value all over the cosmos. While he has no space-traveling powers to speak of, Andy's mix of abilities makes him incredibly powerful, meaning he makes great 'muscle'.

Andy worked as as the strong-arm of an E.S.E. space pirate for several years, and actually managed to garner a few followers across the galaxy, but hasn't capitalized on this yet. This is because the man has become obsessed with a fellow E.S.E. employee: the Aggravant.

When the Aggravant had outlived his usefulness, E.S.E. high-up Riley (nobody really knows the man's first name) asked Andy to 'dispose' of him, and Andy had no real problem with that; just one less chattering monkey to annoy him in the future, really.

The problem was that the Aggravant managed to avoid dying.

In fact, he actually defeated Andy during the attempt on his life!. Humiliated by this, Andy left E.S.E., losing himself in one Mindwatch adventure after another in an effort to get over this defeat. He's still working on that to this very day...!
