the Battle-Axis
Founded by Doctor Death, the Battle-Axis essentially consists of a gang of American (save for the Sky Shark, of course) adventurers who, for their own reasons, have joined up with the Nazi regime - against their own country! Apparently not seeing the sheer folly of this, what with the laundry list of super-types that would disagree with this notion, the following folks signed on with the Battle-Axis:
Willing Members:
Doctor Death: despondent after being bilked out of the kudos for co-creating the Human Torch, James Bradley went Adventuring for a time as Doctor Nemesis. When this didn't satisfy, he then turned to super villainy, hatching a plot to destroy America itself! Doctor Death comes in Classic and Saga styles!
the Human Meteor: explorer Duke O'Dowd left the comfortable streets of Boston to explore the world, gaining super powers on one of his expeditions. Adventuring as the Human Meteor, he was eventually won over to Doctor Death's cause, being convinced America was on the Wrong Path. the Human Meteor comes in Classic and Saga styles!
Spider Queen: when her husband was killed by Russian agents seeking his revolutionary, web-fluid weaponry, Sharon Kane adopted them in the fight against Evil. When America then supported the Soviets in their war against Nazi Germany, well, she became Easy Pickings for Doctor Death... Spider Queen comes in Classic and Saga styles!
Strongman: bullied incessantly as a youth, Percy Van Norton worked hard to become rich in order to wear the shoe that was on the other foot. When his money gained him a shot at a miracle drug cocktail, Percy took it, becoming the one and only Strongman! Too bad it made him somewhat dim... Strongman comes in Classic and Saga styles!
Volton: created by Phineas T. Horton and James Bradley as a 'copy' of the original Human Torch, Volton was 'stolen' by Bradley when the two scientists parted ways. Though Volton fought crime at first, he was turned to evil by his creator and twisted to support his Nazi agenda. Volton comes in Classic and Saga styles!
Unwilling Members:
The Vision: an emerald-skinned warrior from another universe, Aarkus, Destroyer of Evil hails from a realm of heat and smoke. Accidentally summoned to earth several times with experimental dimension-smashing technology, he remains as long as he can to crush evil everywhere he finds it. The Vision comes in Classic and Saga styles!
