Strongman F A S E R I P Res Pop Rm 30 Gd 10 Rm 30 Am 50 Pr 4 Ty 6 Gd 10 In 40 Ex -20 Health: 120 Karma: 20 Origin: Bearing painful memories of having been relentlessly picked on as a wee youth, Percy Van Norton shelled out a remarkable amount of money to buy an experimental drug that increased his strength to super-human levels, though it lowered his intelligence at the same time. He can be considered an altered human. Known Powers: Armor Skin: other than his amazing super human strength, the only real power that Percy possesses is his rather impervious hide. Having skin that is 'as tough as a rhino', Percy can be considered to have this power at Excellent (20) rank, providing him the following protection from attack: Ex 20 / Ty 6 / Fe 2 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 Equipment: (none) Quirks: Gullibility: the bizarre biochemical concoction that gave Percy his amazing strength has also worked wonders on his mind, after a fashion. His smarts aren't what they used to be, and as such, he can be conned into almost anything thanks to his diminished capacity; he's at -1 CS to disbelieve any deceptions. Talents: Martial Arts type B: while he's not too bright, and may've lost any other talents he had in the past, Percy can still fight with the best of 'em. One talent he's constantly working on is his ability to beat on others, a skill that grants him a +1 CS to any unarmed melee attack he launches against a foe. Contacts: While he may've had various contacts amongst law enforcement types, much less people he's helped, former high-dollar friends, and so forth, Percy has turned against his country, and not too many people like a traitor. As such, his only likely remaining contacts are amongst his fellow Battle-Axis team-mates. Costume: When in action as the mighty Strongman, Percy wears a rather heroic get-up. It consists of yellow stretch fabric trousers, blue flared boots, a blue and yellow vest (complete with a high yellow collar), a red belt and bandolier, and of course a rather large, yellow cape (for effect). Personality: Percy is rather dim. He bought and used an experimental drug to boost his strength, if only to silence the demons of his childhood, and it forever changed him. The man seems rather gullible, and while he originally used his powers for good, he was quickly duped into serving the ends of evil, evil men... Real Name: Percy Van Norton Occupation: adventurer Legal Status: citizen of the United States with a likely criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Battle-Axis Height: 6' 6" Hair: black Eyes: blue Weight: 350 lbs. Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Percy has a rather prodigious lantern jaw. Story: Having been repeatedly beaten up by bullies, young Percy Van Norton was obsessed with making sure that this sad state of affairs wouldn't continue into his adult life. As such, he set about making a whole lot of money, and after he had enough, he bought an experimental drug cocktail in 1940. Eagerly subjecting himself to its effects, Percy found that he had grown strong - super-humanly so, in fact - and rather durable, too. Of course, it also affected his mind, making him somewhat... less intelligent than he used to be. People even told him so, but he didn't buy it. Didn't he improve himself, after all? Percy used his impressive abilities to fight crime for a time, but apparently grew tired of people making fun of his diminished capacity, and decided to run with a new set of friends, friends that worship strength in all its many forms. Friends like the Germans (if Nazis can really be considered friends). Seeing how their army bulldozed over France and every other neighbor they had, Percy found a sort of mental affinity with these villains. As such, he was easily swayed into the Battle-Axis along with Doctor Death's other dupes, and went along with the team's plan to break California off the American west coast. Though he and his compatriots were rather strong, the Battle-Axis had nothing on the Invaders who opposed them, even if the team wasn't at full strength, and was relying on a few second-stringers to bolster their ranks. Defeated and arrested for treason, Percy's ultimate fate is as of yet unknown. Using Strongman in other stories: While he's likely done jail time - and may very well have been executed - for his crimes, Percy isn't necessarily out of the hero (or villain) game as of yet. His ultimate fate has yet to be revealed, and he could be sprung - by the Allies or the Axis - if they find a new need for his impressive physical power.
