Origin:

Marla Drake, otherwise known as Miss Fury, is essentially a normal human, with no pronounced powers to speak of. In her battle against the forces of evil, she merely uses her custom-built costume and her various fighting skills to war with those who would harm the innocent.

Known Powers:

Iron Will:
lacking any true powers, per se, Marla has nonetheless demonstrated a remarkable capacity to absorb punishment. This capacity translates into approximately a Good (10) ranked version of this power, allowing her to temporarily offset a minor amount of harm in a pinch.

Equipment:

Costume:
her primary instrument of super-heroism, this custom-made, leopard skin bodysuit gives Marla a distinctive look as Miss Fury. Formerly worn by an African tribal shaman while performing rituals, and then customized by Marla herself, this suit has these capabilities:

* Claws: in order to properly punish evildoers, Marla wore a set of claws behind the knuckles on each arm of her costume. These deadly slashing instruments are constructed of Remarkable (30) strength metals, and she could use them to inflict Good (10) Edged Attack damage per swipe.

* Combat Tail: another aspect of Marla's Fury costume is its long, heavy tail. The tail isn't prehensile by any means, but it was quite effective in battle, being able to act as a club in a pinch (by means of a curious set of motions) which inflicts Typical (6) Blunt Attack damage.

Sports Cars: having a considerable amount of money at her disposal, Marla always utilized expensive sports cars while she was on the road, in either her public or secret identity. These cars, having been built in the forties and/or fifties, were armed with these vehicular statistics:

Talents:

Acrobatics:
Marla is a very limber woman, in that she has a preternatural balance to her movements. As such, she gains a +1 CS whenever attempting any FEAT roll meant to dodge, evade, or escape an assault in combat. This talent also allows her to pull off various intimidating moves in a fight.

Detective / Espionage: having decided to wage a one-woman war against evil, Marla has taught herself the fine arts of detective work. As such, when investigating the scene of a crime, Marla adds a +1 CS to any FEAT meant to uncover any small clues that may lead to the resolution of a mystery.

Martial Arts types A, B, C, D, and E: highly adept in unarmed combat, Marla can add a +1 CS to any melee attack, dodge, grapple, or escape maneuver (cumulative w/the above), can stun or slam opponents regardless of strength and endurance differences, and adds a +1 to initiative when fighting unarmed.

Tumbling: while she's quite agile, Marla isn't perfect, and as such, has learned how to take a fall with minimal injury to her person. As such, if she falls without receiving damage, she can make an agility FEAT roll to see if she lands on her feet, thus making her ready for action immediately.

Vehicular Combat: Marla is a highly skilled driver, and can use this expertise to gain a +1 CS on any agility or control FEAT required while she's behind the wheel of any ground-based vehicle. Of course, this also applies to any FEAT used to attack others while driving...

Contacts:

Marla, being a rich socialite, has literally hundreds of contacts in all walks of life. Be they politicians, policemen, or businessmen, Marla can count on a rather large number of people to lend her favors should she need them. However, her Miss Fury identity has few, if any reliable contacts to speak of.

Costume:

While she was in action against various criminal-types, Marla wore a black, custom-made leopard-skin bodysuit, one that she complemented with black leather boots. Her mask had large, yellow lenses through which she could see clearly, and covered all of her face save for her mouth and nose.

Personality:

In her secret identity, Marla wore the height of fashions, had the most up-to-date hairstyles and drove the nicest cars. She was an extreme flirt, and had broken many a man's heart. When adventuring as Miss Fury, however, she was a no-holds barred opponent, kicking, clawing, and even biting her foes. Yow!

Story:

Marla Drake was a woman that arguably had it all. She was a well-known socialite who hob-nobbed with the elite of society, she had more money than she knew how to spend, and she had more than enough suitors to keep her busy. However, this wasn't enough; Marla was bored with her life.

Perhaps that's why she adopted an alter ego. Uncontent with her 'perfect' existence, Marla decided that she would turn her considerable resources towards the fight against the forces of darkness. To this end, she created a unique, skin-tight leopard skin costume with which to do so.

Calling herself Miss Fury (or the Black Fury, depending on who you ask), she found herself in all kinds of messes, invariably trampling on the schemes of various villains. She battled Nazis, South American dictators, and a motley crew of spies, all the while taking more punishment than you could imagine.

Her most distinctive opponent, however, was the Nazi adventuress Erica Von Kampf, a platinum blonde troublemaker whose long locks concealed the swastika emblem that had been branded onto her forehead. These foes and more were defeated time and again by Marla's crusade against evil.

Her ultimate fate, of course, has yet to be seen, in that only a few of Marla's adventurous forays have been chronicled to date. However, considering her sheer force of personality and stubbornness, it is likely that she continued on as a costumed crime-fighter for many, many years.

Using Miss Fury in other stories:

Like many other golden age heroes, it would be rather easy to plug Marla into a tale taking place during the forties (or even the fifties). Her high style can make her a highly mobile heroine, allowing her to duke it out with Evil virtually anywhere on earth should she need to.

Plugging her into modern day tales would be a bit more difficult, however, in that Marla would definitely be getting on in the years, unless she managed to turn her considerable resources towards the procurement of some age suppressing process; otherwise, making a brand new Miss Fury would likely be preferable.
