Origin:

Doctor Cade is an altered human, a man that gained his powers after he was exposed to experimental chemicals and then shoved into a blast furnace.

Known Powers:

Invisibility:
Doctor Cade can make himself invisible at will, doing so at Remarkable (30) rank. The Doctor is only invisible to standard light waves, however; folks with other supersensory powers can probably detect him just fine.

Invulnerablility to Fire and Heat: the chemicals that granted him the power to become invisible have somehow given Doctor Cade complete invulnerability to fire and heat attacks. He has Class 1k resistance to attacks of this type.

Limitation: while Doctor Cade has the power to become invisible at will, he must regularly recharge his body with some sort of vibrational energy, lest he run out of 'juice'. He can use his power for a total of one hour before recharging it is necessary.

Further, it seems that Doctor Cade experiences some sort of weakness if he has drained his powers completely. His Strength and Endurance drop by -1 CS until he can manage to get back to his Vibro-Saucer.

Equipment:

Vibro-Saucer:
Doctor Cade has this energy emitting device at his disposal, which he can use to recharge his invisibility power as is needed. Without it, however, his power to become invisible is totally useless...

Disintegration Machine: this immobile device can be used to disintegrate matter with Incredible (40) ability. Doctor Cade can use this to dispose of waste materials, or as it turns out, people...

Quirks:

Temper:
it would seem that Doctor Cade has a bit of a temper, as he has the nasty habit of killing his opponents. If attempting to remain calm in the face of attempts to harm or ridicule him, the Doctor must make a Psyche FEAT roll at -1 CS in order to do so.

Talents:

Electronics:
Doctor Cade is apparently a potent electronics engineer, having built disintegration and vibratory devices with only vacuum tube technology to back him up. His Reason is considered +1 CS for the purposes of electronics design and repair.

Chemistry: Doctor Cade is also a competent chemist, who was apparently on to something good; his chemicals inadverdently gave him the powers of invisiblity, after all. His Reason is considered +1 CS when dealing with chemical matters.

Contacts:

None. As a result of his origin, Doctor Cade had been declared missing by the authorities. Nobody knows where he is, or what he is doing, save for the fact that he is fighting crime as the Invisible Man!

Costume:

Doctor Cade, as the Invisible Man, wore a black fidora and a red cape; other than that, his clothes were that which were ordinary for his time.

Personality:

Doctor Cade wanted nothing other than to help the world, by inventing devices and breakthroughs in science that would make people's lives easier. After the incident where he gained his powers, he used them to battle crime, though he seemed to have some disregard for the lives of his enemies...

Story:

Doctor Cade is a brilliant scientist. He's a veritable master of electronic and chemical science with a Vision. He ultimately wanted to make the world a better place, doing so by inventing means to make the lives of people easier and more convenient. Unfortunately, this work was never completed.

You see, a consortium of corporate heads were well aware of Cade's work, and they didn't want him to make any progress, as it would put them out of business. These money grubbers sent a 'sneaking assassin' out to put him out of action for good, and the man almost succeeded.

The assassin broke into Doctor Cade's laboratory, and shoved him into a conveniently open blast furnace, though the Doctor knocked lots of his experimental chemicals onto himself on his way in. Instead of being crisped, the Doctor found that he was now fire proof, and even more, he was invisible!

Using his Vibro-Saucer, he stabilized his invisibility, and he then went after his would-be corporate killers. Smashing his way into their building, he found the assassin that tried to kill him, punched him out, and chucked him out a fortieth-floor window. He then descended upon the assassin's masters.

They eventually found out that Doctor Cade was amongst them, at which point one of the consortium members, Mister Sporvan, pulled out a gun. Doctor Cade struggled with Sporvan for the gun, a fight that caused the weapon to go off and kill Sporvan's partner in crime. At this point, the police conveniently arrived, so Doctor Cade made his exit.

However, Mister Sporvan escaped from the police, and made for Doctor Cade's lab, where he discovers the Doc's notes about his own powers. Duplicating the procedure, Sporvan also became invisible, and used the Doctor's Vibro-Saucer to render him visible when Cade returned to his lab later.

Beating on the power-depleted man mercilessly, Mister Sporvan almost defeated the good Doctor, until he once again made contact with the Vibro-Saucer, restoring his powers and vigor. Doctor Cade then shoved Sporvan into his disintegrator device, pretty much killing him in the process.

The police, having witnessed this chain of events, simply listed Doctor Cade and Mister Sporvan as missing (not wanting to believe that there were invisible people miling about, and that one of them got himself disintegrated). Now free from the constraints of normal society, Doctor Cade decided to become the Invisible Man, super-secret crime fighter!

As the Invisible Man, Doctor Cade went on to have at least two more published adventures. The second involved the Invisible Man breaking up a ring of grave robbers, a ring led by the mysterious Deadpan Louie; Doctor Cade only managed to kill one of the villain's cronies in this mission.

The other one involved the Invisible Man investigating the odd death of an actress, which he determines was a murder perpetrated by the evil Fatty. The Invisible Man beat up and drowned all four of Fatty's minions, and then blew up Fatty's yacht (with Fatty on it). Doctor Cade has gotten quite mean, no?

Using the Invisible Man in other stories:

It is assumed that the Invisible Man has continued his mission against crime, but his further exploits have not yet been detailed. Of course, hardly anybody knows about them, since he's invisible (and he doesn't advertise his presence). However, he could easily appear to help or hinder a group of adventurers that are milling about in the past, should their interests intersect the Doctor's...
