Equipment:
the Wonder Car (i): a marvel of technology in the 1940s, and even for the present, the Wonder Car is possessed of abilities that more than make up for its odd, somewhat amorphous appearance. It can do just about anything that Taxi Taylor needs, and has these abilities:
* Body Armor (s): the Wonder Car is highly resistant to damage, having survived a submarine depth charge attack with only minor dents in its six inch thick steel plating. The Car should be considered a source of +5 defense for anybody within.
* CommLink: Taxi has, in addition to several other modifications, installed a classic radio transceiver in his car. This thing, by itself, has a relatively small range, but if he uses the car's selection ability, he can boost it's transmission range to an almost global scale!
* Lights: the Wonder Car is possessed of big, powerful headlights. Not quite halogens, mind you, these thingies can generate intensity 5 light. This can't really be used to attack (unless blinding a body at night, as a surprise move), but is nice for illuminating an area.
* Passengers: the Wonder Car, being a taxi cab (if an incredibly odd looking one), can hold up to five passengers (three comfortably), in addition to the driver, who is usually Jim 'Taxi' Taylor, of course. Being a Vintage Age car, these seats are big'n comfy, too...
* Selection (s): not bound by any one mechanism or system, the Wonder Car can spontaneously develop just about any device Taylor wants it to, pretty much on the fly, with intensity 13 ability. This can simulate any power (equipment or otherwise) in the Saga system.
Except for magical or psionic abilities, of course. However, it is important to note that the Wonder Car can only make use of one such developed ability at a time. For instance, it might fly, or generate a radar tower, but can't do both at the same time. This is in addition to the above abilities.
Hindrances:
(none)
Skills:
Driving (a): Taxi Taylor is an excellent driver. Having been practically raised in a car, the man can operate any ground vehicles with ease. Though he can do so, he preferrs to drive about in his Wonder Car (after all, look what it can do!).
Mechanics (i): having build the Wonder Car from mere 40's automotive technology, Taxi Taylor is considered a world-class mechanical engineer - even if he likens himself to a mere tinkerer. As such, he can use any trump card (save for Doom) when building items with moving parts.
Piloting (a): in addition to his excellent driving skills, Taxi is also a rather competent pilot of most airborne vehicles. After all, if he can fly his Wonder Car around the country, it's likely he can fly just about anything else, to boot.
Repair (a): having built his Wonder Car from a mere taxi cab (though you couldn't tell by looking at it), it is assumed that Taylor has this skill, as well. Especially since he's performed repairs on the Car under harsh field conditions, such as underwater, etc...
Calling:
Protector: though he could've just sat back and been a cabbie during the War, Jim 'Taxi' Taylor chose instead to do his part, in order to protect his fellow Americans from the scourge of Nazi evil. Now that he's done so, he uses his work to fight crime in various U.S. locations.
Costume:
Jim 'Taxi' Taylor doesn't wear any sort of spandex uniform to speak of when he's fighting Crime. No, he just wears ordinary 'street' clothes while at work - whether his job either has him pulling fares in D.C. or using his Wonder Car against the forces of darkness.
Personality:
Taxi Taylor is a real go-getter, a man refusing to quit at all costs. After being dealt a severe blow to his ego by the government, Taxi simply turned his gear to another facet of national defense: the super taxi cabbie! He's tenacious in the extreme, and readily holds a grudge.

Story:
His greatest creation: the Wonder Car. Jim 'Taxi' Taylor had just completed it, and was going to give it to the American military for use in the War. He took it directly to the Defense Department, and explained what it could do, but the fools laughed him right out of the building. Not giving up, he decided to use it solo against the forces of evil.
Until he could afford to, however, Taxi continued on as a cabbie in Washington D.C., so he can gain the proper amount of capital in the capitol. However, that was not to be; while on the job, a fare proved to be a pair of Nazi spies! Listening in on their conversation with microphones, Taxi Taylor uncovered a dastardly sabotage plot!
Dropping the spies off at their home, he erected a radio antenna from the Wonder Car, and eavesdropped on the spies' transmissions in order to see what they were truly up to. Finding out that a German ship was in the New York Harbor, he discovered that the ship was laying mines to deal with two American destroyers, and sprang into action!
Transforming the Wonder Car into an air plane, Taxi flew to New York and spotted the hidden German ship right off, diving underwater to disarm the 'magnetic mines' that the ship was laying around the American destroyers. Dismayed by this, the Germans dropped some depth charges on the Wonder Car, though they only slowed it down -- they couldn't stop it.
Popping out to hammer the dents in the 6" steel frame (underwater, no less), Taxi was attacked by a German diver, sent down to ensure his demise. Well, Taxi Taylor easily dispatches this enemy of America, slicing his air hose and watching him die a horrible death, laughing all the while. And then he uses his Wonder Car's weapon of 'death'.
The Wonder Car releases a lot of steaming bubbles, bubbles that somehow created a vacuum effect under the German ship, sinking it outright. Satisfied that all of the Germans are dealt with (and how), Taxi returned to Washington D.C. to deal with the remaining two spies. Of course, they were already burning their house down to destroy evidence of their plot.
Hopping in the house in fireman's gear, Taxi Taylor falls victim to the villains' death trap: the safe containing their records stuns him, holding him to it with electrical current. Of course, his Wonder Car was programmed to pull him out of the house after two minutes, so he avoids getting blown up by the heat-sensitive bomb trigger in the safe.
He uses a foam spray to put out the house fire, and then calls the police, telling them what was going on there. Taxi Taylor then drove off into the sunset, never again to be seen by the comic book world again. He may have just continued being a cabbie, as there's more money in that than super-heroics, but one never knows...
