Powers:
Cold Control: wielding this power at intensity 14, Aarkus can use it to absorb the heat from a body, binding them in ice of similar material strength. It is bound by the Touch Only limitation, but it is nonetheless enough to cause most everybody to stop in their tracks...
Dimensional Travel: if smoke is present in two locations, Aarkus can use it to open up an interdimensional portal between them, allowing a body able to cross between them instantly, with intensity 8 ability. If he has no smoke (or air), however, he cannot make portals.
Flight: another of Aarkus' powers is the ability to move freely, in three dimensions, within a space filled with gaseous matter, at intensity 6 (about 150 miles per hour). This power is useless in a vacuum, however, as is his dimensional aperture power.
Illusion: though limited in scope, Aarkus has the ability to alter the perceptions of others. Namely, this ability allows him to 'blend in' to a world, masking himself as one of its natives (if he so chooses), at intensity 10. This power is bound by the One Sense Only limitation (sight).
Invulnerability to Poisons: Aarkus has demonstrated on at least one occasion an extremely high resistance to poisonous gases, by wading right into a cloud of toxins that were easily deadly enough to kill most everybody on the western seaboard. He has this power at intensity 10.

Skills:
Aerial Combat: a natural denizen of the skies, Aarkus has the ability to utilize either a Strength or Agility trump when making aerial assaults. Furthermore, he can substitute his Agility for Intellect for the purposes of determining initiative (not that this has much benefit to him).
Occult: being of an extraplanar nature, Aarkus has this skill as a matter of course. This allows him exceptional knowledge of all things arcane, including certain bits of knowledge about mages, magical societies, ancient artifacts of power, and all sorts of forgotten lore.
Calling:
Outcast: being an alien, well, an extradimensional being, Aarkus is something of an outsider, in that he's something of a freak to ordinary human folks. However, he can disguise himself as a normal human, so this effect isn't so bad. Unless, of course, he's using his powers...

Aarkus wears a green suit made from stretch fabric, with green boots, a green belt, and blue gloves. Aarkus also wears a cape that is yellow on the outside, and red on the inside, that has an exceptionally large collar.
Personality:
Aarkus is a man that loves his home. He loves it so much, in fact, that he has left it on many occasions to battle the forces of Evil, in order to prevent them from providing a threat to his plane of existence. However, he's not absolutely single minded in his pursuit of evil, as he's been blackmailed into helping bad people on at least one occasion...

Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Aarkus is possessed of emerald colored flesh, and his bald head is slightly larger than that of regular humans.
Story:
Very, very little is known about the being that is Aarkus, Destroyer of Evil, he who is better known on the earthly plane as the Vision. It is known that he is from a different level of reality, and that he is the sworn opponent of evil, but that's about it. Besides the fact, of course, that he often journeys to earth to battle the tides of darkness that beseige it.
He was first attacted to the earth by a man who was attempting to pierce the dimensional barriers, and was mobbed by, well, mob thugs whom he owed money. He stuck around and figured out who was behind this trouble, and dealt with it - permanently. He first dealt with the thugs causing the immediate threat, and then their greedy mobster boss.
On another occasion, he manifested on Earth during an exceptionally bad storm, one produced by a madman with a book of spells! Though he had trouble at first, Aarkus managed to defeat the foolish, would-be mage and dropped him off a cliff face. He then used the book of magic to end the storm that his former foe had started, saving a small town the loon was menacing.
One of his later appearances on the earth was the result of an advanced device known as the dimension smasher, a device that literally pulled him from his own plane and deposited him in a secret Nazi installation below the American deserts. In this particular instance, he was forced to work with his evil captors against the heroic Invaders.
However, once the dimension smasher was destroyed by the Invaders in their battle with these evil Germans, the Vision was freed from his blackmailers, and aided them in the disposal of poison gas that the Germans were planning to use against America, by sweeping it through a portal into his own plane on his way home.
His further exploits on the earthly plane have yet to be chronicled, if he in fact has had any more. After his last trip to the earth, it may not have seemed such a pleasant idea, after all.
Using the Vision in other stories:
Well, as an extradimensional traveller, the Vision can appear in any time or space that he is required to battle evil in. As such, he can easily appear in stories set in either past or present campaigns, in practically any location, whether or not he has the lifespan that would be necessary to place him in modern stories.
