Powers:

Body Armor:
it has been shown that Jacqueline is more resistant to injury than normal humans. In fact, she has +3 body armor, making her total resistance to injury a grand total of ten (10). This makes Jacqueline virtually invulnerable to conventional forms of injury, like knives and guns, though competent super villains can still give her a run for her money...

Enhanced Lower Body Strength: Jacqueline's lower body strength, as a result of the bizarre circumstances that granted her her super speed powers, has also enhanced the strength of her lower body muscles. In essence, her legs are possessed of an intensity 10 strength, which helps her to run as fast as she does, as well as making for one mean kick...

Lightning Speed: after the infusion of both vampiric ichor and artificial blood into her body, Jacqueline's body manifested powers of super human speed. She has been clocked moving at approximately 60 miles per hour, making this an intensity 4 power. Jacqueline has demonstrated the following power stunts so far:

* Mach Control: Jacqueline was quite skilled in the offensive use of her lightning speed, wielding her 'hypersonic punch' to inflict her power's intensity in a concussion attack. The great thing about this power stunt is that she doesn't need to make contact with her opponent, unlike the power slam stunt, where there is the possibility of injuring herself...

* Run Up Walls: Jacqueline can run up vertical surfaces (with a head start) at her top speed, moving quick enough that she won't fall to the ground.

* Water Walking: Jacqueline can run at top speed across water, moving quick enough to avoid sinking in the liquid medium.

* Whirlwind: Jacqueline can run around in circles at high speed in order to generate a tiny little whirlwind. This micro-twister can be used to hold opponents at bay, inflicting her power's intensity (4) in damage each turn to anybody caught in the tornado. She can also capture opponents and hold them within the twister, doing so with power intensity (4) strength.

Generating this whirlwind requires Jacqueline to pass an average difficulty lightning speed action.

Equipment:

Speed Suit:
this synthetic, stretch fabric suit protects Jacqueline from the inherent friction that results from her moving at such super speeds; it can protect her against air frictions of up to intensity 17 in strength. Combined with her natural body resistance, this makes her quite able to survive tripping at super speed, as well as other high speed incidents...

Hindrances:

(none)

Skills:

Martial Arts:
Jacqueline has been trained in personal defense maneuvers by the best, and as such, she can utilize her agility instead of her strength score in order to resolve attack maneuvers. If she doesn't attack in an exchange, Jacqueline can instead lower the difficulty of catching thown objects by one difficulty level.

Piloting: Jacqueline is an accomplished pilot, at least of aircraft of up to a World War 2 level of development. Using this knowledge, she could conceivable fly just about anything, given enough time to figure out which control does what...

Calling:

Guardian:
Jacqueline considered herself a protector of the U.K. while she was involved with the Invaders during World War 2. With her re-empowerment in the modern age, her calling is as-of-yet unrevealed.

Costume:

Jacqueline adventures in a yellow stretch fabric body suit, though she also wears red boots and gloves, with a mighty red cape. She also wears a red half-mask, a mask that covers her eyes and frills out past her head.

Personality:

Though not as arrogant as some of the upper class of Britain, Jacqueline nonetheless has a slight twinge of snobbishness in her. This doesn't stop her from fighting for her nation or her ideals, however; she fights for what she believes in with an unrivaled optimism and cheer.

Real Name: Jacqueline Falsworth Crichton
Occupation: Chief Executive Officer of Falsworth Industries, adventurer
Legal Status: Citizen of the United Kingdom with no criminal record
Marital Status: widow
Alias(es), if any: Lady Crichton
Group Affiliation: Invaders

Height: 5' 4"
Hair: platinum blond (formerly gray, now returning to true blond)
Eyes: blue
Weight: 110 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: despite her age, Jacqueline appears to be a physical adolescent (in current stories).

Story:

Daughter of the original Union Jack (from World War 1), Lady Jacqueline Falsworth first came into prominence during World War 2 as a member of Britain's Home Guard, when she was viciously attacked by the evil Baron Blood (who, though neither knew it, was her uncle).

Before any real damage could be done, Jacqueline was rescued by the Human Torch, who took her home after her ordeal. While there, he befriended both Union Jack and his family, and was present when Baron Blood struck again, kidnapping Jacqueline for befriending the Invaders.

By the time the Invaders freed Jacqueline, she had lost a severe amount of blood due to Baron Blood's vampiric attack. Taking her to a hospital, the heroes got her an emergency blood transfusion from the Human Torch, at which point the Blue Bullet attacked the hospital.

He was looking for the Invaders, in order to crush them with his shiny new armor. While this battle took place, Jacqueline's body had a mutagenic reaction to the combination of android cells and vampiric ichor in her blood, and she developed the power to move at incredible speeds.

Feeling up to a fight, she raced to the battleground below, and managed to save the Human Torch from the Blue Bullet's rampage. After the battle, Jacqueline managed to completely recover from her injuries, and donned the costume and identity of Spitfire, after the British attack planes.

With that, Jacqueline joined up with the Invaders, and battled with them alongside her brother (the second Union Jack) while they warred against the Nazis in the European Theatre. After the War, however, Jacqueline's powers had faded (by 1950, anyway), and she eventually married Lord Crichton.

Recently, however, circumstances forced Jacqueline to get a secondary blood transfusion from the original Human Torch (who himself had recently returned to 'life'), and this addition of artificial blood cells rekindled the high-speed powers of Spitfire once again.

Moreover, the transfusion had rendered Jacqueline's physical body young again, making her apparent age somewhere in her teens, even though she's actually much older. Now youthful once again, Jacqueline occasionally goes on adventures when necessary...

Using Spitfire in other stories:

Plugging Spitfire in new stories is quite easy. You see, she was in the height of her adventuring career during World War 2, of course. Having Vintage Age missions starring Spitfire is easy, as this was her time in the limelight. However, there's more.

Since she's been de-aged, as it were, Spitfire can easily appear in modern tales as well, as she's quite young in body, and experienced in super heroics. With her powers restored, she can easily appear in stories set in either the past or present.
