Origin:

Wilhelm Lohmer was originally one of the teeming soldier wannabe's in the ranks of Nazi Germany before he was given a variant version of the super-soilder serum. This Nazi uber-man compound is what transformed him from a merely ordinary human (physically, at least) into the super-powerful being he is today. Well, the super-powered being he was until his recent death...

Known Powers:

Flight:
granted after his second exposure to the Nazi version of the super-soldier serum, this power allows Wilhelm to fly about at around ninety miles per hour, functioning at Typical (6) rank. While in the air, he functions at Typical (6) agility for the purposes of aerial maneuvers, including dodge attemps against incoming attacks.

Resistance to Fire and Heat: in addition to granting him an incredible boost in physical power, the Nazi version of the super-soldier serum that transformed Wilhelm into the Master Man has granted him significant resistance to thermal attacks. As such, he shrugs off assaults of fire and heat at Monstrous (75) rank, making him all but impervious to the stuff.

Equipment:

(none)

Quirks:

Fanaticism:
Wilhelm was, and still is, a fanatic adherent to the Nazi philosophy; this is, of course, because he was on the high end of that particular power structure. If presented with an opportunity to further the cause of said philosophy, or if it is insulted in some manner, Wilhelm must pass a psyche FEAT roll at -2 CS to prevent himself from acting... should he wish to restrain himself.

Talents:

Demolitions:
after becoming the original Master Man, Wilhelm was trained in the art of using explosives to maximum effect against buildings and enemy encampments. His Reason score should be considered +1 CS for the purposes of planting such devices in order to destroy structures.

Languages / English and German: born a German, Wilhelm can naturally speak German fluently. However, as he was to do battle with the accursed Allied super humans, it was necessary for him to learn English as well. He can speak this second tongue fluently, though he does so with a heavy accent.

Martial Arts type B: in order to make maximum use of his physical prowess, Wilhelm was trained in the use of his body as a supreme weapon. As such, he can make unarmed melee attacks as if his fighting score were +1 CS, whether these attacks be punches, kicks, head butts, etc...

Military: as one of the Nazi regime's very first meta human operatives, Wilhelm received extensive military training. He was an honorary high ranking officer in the German army, and had the authority to lead large number of troops into battle; the authority, that is, if not the proper skill.

Pilot / Air: another skill Wilhelm acquired thanks to the Nazi regime is his ability to pilot aircraft. Though limited in intelligence, he can nonetheless pilot any aircraft from the World War 2 era, making applicable control FEATs as if his agility were +1 CS in rank.

Contacts:

Being the lap dog of Hitler had a few advantages, in its own deviant way, as it allowed Wilhelm to hobnob with various other costumed villains employed by the Nazi party, as well as the high and mighty of German society at the time. Being a highly placed 'hero' of this foul organization, this allowed him to draw on it for aid in his missions against Freedom and Justice.

Costume:

While acting as the original Master Man, Wilhelm wore a blue body suit with yellow racing stripes down the sides of his arms and legs. The chest of this suit bore a large swastika, and it had a large yellow collar on the neck. Also, Wilhelm made use of yellow boots and gloves (the latter of which bore black straps on the wrists), as well as a large yellow belt around his waist.

Personality:

Wilhelm was a Nazi... and a rather dull one at that. Mocked and beaten up as a youth, this weak man reveled in his powers once he became the German counterpart of Captain America, using his augmented strength against anybody he felt like. Believing the Nazi way to be the right way, he spouted their devilish propaganda at every opportunity.

Story:

Nothing is known about the early childhood of Wilhelm Lohmer, save for the fact that he was a weakling who was constantly tormented by his fellows. When first seen, he was in fact a mere 98 pound waif, who wished to join the German army in order to support his beloved Nazi cause. In a mirror of the origin of Captain America, Wilhelm was then chosen to be the recipient of an experimental formula.

This mysterious substance drastically transformed wee little Wilhelm, more than doubling his weight by the addition of raw muscle structure, as well as making him stand high and tall over most other men. This formula, a variant of the American super-soldier serum produced by the monstrous Brain Drain, had transformed Wilhelm into what the Nazis thought was the ideal human form.

Soon after, Wilhelm was placed in the highest of positions of Nazi power, and he was immediately put to use against the Allied forces' own super human agents. This, of course, inadverdently caused them to band together as the heroic Invaders, as neither Captain America and Bucky, Namor the Sub-Mariner, or the Human Torch and Toro could defeat Wilhelm on their own.

When he next faced these heroes, they assaulted him with their combined forces, and this caused Wilhelm to overtax his powers to the point that his super-soldier serum failed him; after exerting himself too much, he reverted to his 98 pound form, at which point Bucky soundly beat the snot out of him. Adding insult to injury, the Invaders hauled Wilhelm off to jail.

Thanks to several German agents, however, Wilhem was liberated from his captors, and upon his return to his home was augmented anew with the super-soldier serum, growing even stronger than before, and gaining the power of flight. Attacking the Invaders again, Wilhelm managed to catch them unaware with his newer level of strength, and defeated them soundly.

He then took them to castle Berchtesgaden, Hitler's personal home, where Nazi spy Frieda Ratsel was interrogating a captured G.I. who knew a piece of the true super-soldier serum. Gaining the information via hypnosis, she used this formula on herself and became the frighteningly powerful Warrior Woman, an Amazonian powerhouse in tight black leather. No, really.

Hitler then decided to marry the two in order to have them sire a new race of super-powered German youth, and the ceremony was planned to take place the same day he intended to execute the captured Invaders. The heroes broke out of the castle's dungeon, however, and proceeded to take the place apart; in the ensuing mayhem, Wilhelm's wedding to his dream woman was interrupted.

However, the two continued on as partners in the fight against the Invaders, despite the fact that Warrior Woman despised the oafish Wilhelm; this alone caused Hitler's plan to fail, as she never allowed poor Wilhelm - who was smitten with her - to get that close... not by a long shot. Their battle with these Allied interlopers came to a head when Frieda and Wilhelm joined the so-called Super-Axis.

Gathered together by the mysterious Lady Lotus, this group consisted of Wilhelm, Warrior Woman, U-Man, and the diabolical Baron Blood. They waged a mighty war against the assembled Invaders, but were simply unable to better their superior foes. Defeated, the Super-Axis then went its separate ways, Wilhelm himself vanishing into cryogenic storage until but a few years ago.

This revival came thanks to Herr Nacht, a modern day Nazi entrepreneur who wished to revive the 'glory' of the Nazi ideal. However, treachery dwelt in the heart of Nacht, who had himself fallen in love with the Amazonian Warrior Woman. He wished to get Wilhelm out of the way and, after contriving a means to steal his powers, sent him off into battle with Namor, the Sub-Mariner!

During this fight Nacht's treachery became apparent, as Wilhelm suddenly reverted to his weakling state during his battle with the Avenging Son. Soon thereafter, Nacht appeared to the duo, proclaiming himself the new Master Man of the soon-to-be fourth Reich. Seeing Frieda sided with this interloper, Wilhelm lost his will to live, and sabotaged a handy electrical box.

The resulting explosion was meant to kill himself and everybody else present, but Namor (thanks to his own electrical powers) easily survived this mess. However, he never managed to find any bodies in the aftermath of this explosion. This was, of course, because all three of these Nazis survived to spread their evil beliefs another day. All save for Wilhelm, that is.

You see, after losing Frieda, Wilhelm became completely despondent concerning his past. Wishing to forget everything, he returned to Europe, only to get himself involved in a battle between Cable, his friend Irene, and several operatives of the Hellfire Club. Wishing to do at least some good in his life, Wilhelm saved Cable and his friend from certain death, though this ultimately cost Wilhelm his life.

So, despite his despicable past, Wilhelm at last managed to do at least one good thing in his life...

Using Master-Man in other stories:

During the War, Master Man could easily show up at any time to perform his dull brand of villainy, either by himself or with his Super-Axis ilk. After the war, however, he was placed in cryogenic storage until just a few years ago, and found himself powerless and of a decidedly non-villainous bent between the time of his revival and his doom at the hands of the Hellfire Club.

However, there's always the second Master Man...
